I was interested in a used vehicle. In my search, Gettel came up, having a vehicle that checked all my boxes, looked very good, low miles, and reasonably priced. I contacted the dealership using cars.com and the representative from internet sales returned my email within minutes. I drove almost 90 minutes to the dealership, seen the car which looked exactly like the pictures. When we got back from the test drive to discuss the price, that’s when things went down hill. The advertised price didn’t account for a $3500 “certified fee” or an administrative fee that was added on to “all customers “ and would be “discriminatory” if removed. I understand times are difficult and dealerships need to keep the lights on just like everyone else, but I didn’t appreciate the way I was spoken to regarding this. This was the 3rd dealership I was shopping at, and even though the last 2 dealerships couldn’t close a deal that I felt was fair, they never spoke to me in the tone that I was spoken to. 2 days later, the internet department reached out, and I explained why the deal wasn’t closed. She reached out to the sales manager, and a few minutes later, I received an email from him. He echoed his tone in the email, and referred to the fees as being “state fees”. I never asked to negotiate the sales tax, or DMV plate and registration fees which were clearly itemized in another part of the quote. I’m not going to mention any names in this review, I don’t want anyone to loose there jobs, but honestly and transparency is a better sales approach. I was fortunate enough to close a deal the week after at another dealership.

Sales person was perfect!
Sales person was perfect!!! Then came the managers. After stating we don't talk to managers. Tried to sell us something else. Then came the different prices and pressure Immediately saw what they were doing. I love salespeople who try that stuff. It was very difficult to get our car keys back. Told them if I didn't get them in 30 seconds I was calling 911. They reluctantly gave them to us. Had a copy of their last numbers. Got home and wife ( forensic account) was reviewing it and found $1800 to the dealers favor. Not sure if its deceptive practices or what. This is the second Gettle dealership that tried this. Anyway drove to Sarasota and bought a Lexus in 20 minutes. Beware know your stuff and chk the numbers! Be assertive your there to buy a car not to make friends. If not allowed.

Even though the dealership is under major construction
Even though the dealership is under major construction the service team comes through every time and in all ways! Very pleasant to deal with and they actually care about their customers. (Something other brands and dealerships should take note of) Love my Genesis and love the service at Gettel Genesis Lakewood .

Genesis manager is very unprofessional.
Genesis manager is very unprofessional. When I booked I requested a loaner vehicle. Upon arrival there was no loaner. Wasted total 1 hour of driving for nothing. Took my sedan in for ABS light on. Didn’t fix anything and then went over what needed to be fixed when I picked it up. However had no quote for me. Went to Courtesy in Tampa and was able to get my car in and out for service. And within minutes had a quote for the ABS light and fixed in 2 days. Needless to say - I will not be back. Fix your attitude when dealing with customers who paid extra to have great service.

Problematic
Worst service department ever in dealing with minorities from my experience. Even though you may be driving their top of the line vehicle one person in particular Mike , the service manager comes across as racist from my experience. Genesis Corporate has customer complaints because of it. From my understanding the dealership has had several complaints of possible racism and overall bad service.

Mark Phillips was very accommodating so that we could get
Mark Phillips was very accommodating so that we could get our GV80 in for service before we took a vacation involving many miles. Mark is very thorough, professional and friendly. The service department handled the service efficient and effectively; in fact, it was completed in less than 2 hours. Mark checked me in and had the loaner ready which was appreciated since I had a meeting.
