I’m happy to discuss this publicly. Your salesman lied to me about the car. Saying the problem with the top was just a sensor that had a recall and he thought the replacement came in that day . Maserati confirmed there was no recall. The problem with the convertible top could not be fixed. During my approximate six months of ownership the dealership had the car the vast majority of the time with the top working for two weeks of the six months. The convertible. is about a thirty thousand dollar option on this car. I was also told the car came with four years free scheduled maintenance. However when I picked it up I had to fight to get two years scheduled maintenance. Please keep in mind by the time I went to pick it up your dealership had already received all the money for the car. I paid for the car by sell stock which cost me over forty grand in taxes so it would have been very difficult for me to say I don’t want it at that point. During my six months of ownership I had the car approximately five weeks. The six months worth of insurance cost me just over$2,000. During this time I was constantly in touch with Maserati who did nothing but stall for months. They refused to even pick up any portion of my insurance expenses. I really should’ve sued for punitive damages. The story ended with them refunding my money and me returning a car. This is the exact minimum that could be done if I exercise the lemon law which it obviously met so they did nothing for me, but the car retained some value cause the next poor guy will not know the problems we had.

The people were so friendly and the car purchasing
The people were so friendly and the car purchasing process was smooth. However, there are some major issues with the vehicle we purchased that were not disclosed to us. We were told there was a multi-point inspection that the vehicle had to pass to meet their standards and that wasn’t necessarily true. We are bringing it back in for repairs and hoping the factory warranty and extended warranty we purchased will be enough for the repairs to be covered.

They lied about auto’s features and oil change prior to purchase. When car went back to address these issues, my auto came back with chipped windshield, chipped hood, and scratched headlamp. They denied doing any damage, which of course is absurd. They are scammers as the other posts have pointed out. Stay away.

This was the worst car buying experience I have ever had.
This was the worst car buying experience I have ever had. The management of this dealership misrepresented the vehicle - they said it had the FSD-supervised package when it did not, which was a major detriment to its value - $8k!. We relied on their statements and would not have bought it had we known the truth. In addition, I told them I was a cash buyer and agreed to their full asking price. Then they sent me a PO which included $3k after-market warranty. I told them I didn't want it and the salesperson and finance person acknowledged that. Then they sent me the paperwork with it still on there anyway. When I pointed out the error and reminded them that I had told them I didn't want it, they immediately demanded I finance the car instead of cash, which is in violation of the rules of the Illinois Secretary of State as well as the dealership's own paperwork. Then, they said the "government" fees of nearly $1k would not apply because I was out of state and would have to register it myself in my home state. Instead of just getting rid of the fee, the manager tried to charge it anyway as an "out-of-state" buyer fee - also against the SOC dealer rules. They tried every sleazy used car sales trick and even tried to 'renegotiate' after we had reached agreement! They demanded (at 5:30pm after the banks had closed) that I wire them the money immediately or they would sell it to someone else! I pointed out that my bank was closed, making their demand silly and petty. Against my better judgment, I went ahead with the transaction because my wife wanted the car. After they had the money and after telling me the car was 'clean' many times, they finally did disclose there was a broken passenger side mirror. Since they didn't want to pay to fix it, they agreed to ship me the car instead at their expense. Marty, the sales manager, told me the car would be picked up the following Monday and delivered the next day on Tuesday. Instead it arrived on Thursday. At no point did the dealership provide me with ANY shipping information, even when I called repeatedly asking for it. This meant I had to take three days off work (!) just because I had no idea when the car would arrive. Terrible. Sleazy used car tactics, bilking their customer out of maximum profit at every turn, very poor communication, failure to disclose issues and trying to renegotiate after-the-fact made this a terrible and stressful experience, and I'm only touching on the major points. I warn everyone not to trust this dealership one bit, especially if they make the mistake I did and try to buy a car there.

I purchased a 2020 Range Rover Sport from Maserati of Naperville in January 2025. It had 48,471 miles and was shipped to me in Tampa. I originally scheduled a pre-purchase inspection but their team told me it had already been inspected by Land Rover and was in excellent condition. No issues, no need for outside inspection. Less than 1,500 miles later, at exactly 50,000 miles, I brought it in for its first service and was hit with a $6,599 repair bill: coolant bypass hose leak, oil leaks from the top engine gaskets, and worn control arms. This was the first time the car was seen by a shop since delivery. I emailed the general manager and the owner directly. I sent a detailed breakdown and repair estimate. I followed up again and gave them two full weeks to respond. No one replied. Not a single word. This dealership thanked me for trusting them and welcoming me to their "family" but the moment a serious issue came up, they completely disappeared. If you're buying a used vehicle here, especially out of state, be extremely careful. What they promise upfront does not match how they handle things after the sale.

DO NOY BUY A USED CAR OR HAVE SERVICE PERFORMED HERE.
DO NOY BUY A USED CAR OR HAVE SERVICE PERFORMED HERE. This is the dealership you were warned about. They do not properly inspect, repair or prep used cars. The decisions are seemingly being made by the owner as to what cars to buy and what prep to do and it seems that’s done w/o knowledge of the sales managers. I’ve summarized recent issues below. Note: I tried repeatedly to talk with the owner and GM via phone and email. Neither took my calls or returned messages despite the sales mgr assistance. The sales mgr was extremely apologetic and seemingly tried to help. He has since quit as he was “tired of dealing with the xx of the new owner buying junk cars and not being willing to fix/maintain them properly” and “the constant onslaught of customer complaints” among many other blunt statements. He shared story after story of customers buying used luxury cars and learning that they had not been serviced or repaired as promised. Here’s the scoop. * I contacted the dealership about a car they advertised on CarFax.The car was purchased at auction and in transit. They did not have photos, but it was thoroughly described to me. * Once the car arrived, the condition and specs were reiterated to be as described and I was told the car was being inspected and serviced and that as a luxury car dealer, they didn’t cut corners (multi-point pre-sale inspection, including oil and filter change + any repairs). * Upon completion of the inspection, I was told there were no issues outside of tires and brakes and that both would be replaced with new OEM parts. I asked very specific questions about the inspection as the car is a high end performance vehicle. We discussed Audi and Porsche pre-sale inspections and I was assured they had the same process. * I planned a trip from St. Louis to Chicago a week in advance. The car was to be ready to go upon my arrival. It was not. It was a couple of hours before I could even see the car and at that point, the sales manager and I realized there were issues above and beyond standard wear. * There was significant damage to the rear tailgate and bumper * There was only one key fob. Key fobs are $980 for the car * Brakes (rotors and pads) had been replaced, but they were not OEM and service/parts had no information to verify the quality/fitment. * Tires had been replaced, but they were not OEM spec and far from performance tires (2 rating classes below) . * Despite the issues, I moved forward because I genuinely liked the sales mgr, I had traveled from St. Louis, and we were able to come to an agreement on a cost reduction to cover the damage repair and key. * After over 6 hours at the dealership (prep was never completed as promised – clay bar, paint correction, etc. and the pw took hours as the GM at the time didn’t seem to have a grasp on things - he was let go the same week), I drove the car home. * On the drive home, TPMS light came on. Three of tires were overinflated by 6-10 PSI and one was 4 PSI too low. * The next day, a rear faulty taillight alert came on, so I made an appt at my local dealer They did an inspection as well and discovered the following issues (video provided of all). * Rear Taillight Assembly was throwing a soft code. It had been replaced with a salvage part and the board was faulty. * Front motor mounts leaking fluid * Lower control arm bushings leaking * Tires were found to be ‘used’ – that’s right, they told me they put new OEM spec tires on and instead put used non spec tires on. That’s not even close to the entire story. There was a sales tax issue and more, but the objective is to make others aware that this dealer cannot be trusted. Trust is already challenging and when someone breaks your trust and then won’t take any responsibility, that’s a telltale sign of their character. There are, of course, good and trustworthy people working there. The problem is ownership and management. Gibran and Paul, you are still welcome to call me.

🚨 Buyer Beware: Deceptive Practices at Maserati of
🚨 Buyer Beware: Deceptive Practices at Maserati of Naperville 🚨 One star is exceedingly generous. I purchased a 2019 Porsche Cayenne from Maserati of Naperville, expecting a quality vehicle based on their assurances and the clean Carfax report. What I received was an unsafe, flood-damaged car riddled with issues. Within 24 hours of delivery, the engine light came on, and a diagnostic report revealed extensive problems, including a damaged turbocharger, persistent water damage, non-functional driver assistance systems, a bunch of other water related damage and a strong odor of mold/mildew—a clear sign of prior flooding. The car cannot pass inspection and is illegal to drive in both Maine and Illinois. Maserati of Naperville reset the engine light and all the codes just before shipping the car to me, demonstrating they knew about these issues but failed to disclose them. Despite immediate outreach and numerous attempts to find resolution, the dealership refuses to take accountability, wanted me to pay a 10% restocking fee, $1/mile driven and pay for return shipping. They finally agreed to refund my full payment but I still had to pay shipping. When they got the car back they said the won't refund my full amount because the engine light is on and it wasn't when they shipped the car. This was the reason I returned the car and they agreed to a full refund due to the engine damage. Their conduct is a blatant violation of consumer protection laws and constitutes FRAUD. 📢 I urge anyone considering buying from Maserati of Naperville to think twice. Their deceptive practices, lack of transparency, and refusal to honor basic legal obligations have caused me significant financial and emotional distress. Don’t let this happen to you. They claim first class customer service but, I assure you, I have never been treated so poorly in my entire life. This business is a sham. Please share this post with anyone you know considering buying a car from them.
