Disappointed at the lack of response for my concern.
Disappointed at the lack of response for my concern. Had an issue with the additional insurance where I could not get the car repaired after several attempts through several different repair shops. None could help. Finance manager told me to contact insurance rep who never got back to me. I have documented 13 online messages where I was told someone would be in touch to help and no one has responded. Requested to speak with the GM or Owner, and no one will allow this to happen, so they are covering up for the issues. Cancelled the insurance, was told to contact the insurance rep who could help explain the refund process and no one is returning my texts or calls. Simply put, people are intentionally blowing me off. Very frustrating, unprofessional and unacceptable. Word of mouth is so important to future business and it seems obvious to me, that hard issues to resolve go unresolved by McGovern. Sweep it under the rug and go on to the next person. Although the purchase of the car went well, the follow up on this has me 100% convinced that there is no backing of the business after the sale is made. I personally witnessed the stress and frustration of the employees in the service department who were trying to resolve a separate issue while I was at the facility. Seems like a management numbers game to achieve results at all cost, while underlying issues are realized, but either fall on deaf ears and/or not addressed at all.

Hello Dan, and thank you for your review. While we understand your frustration trying to obtain coverage at a third party repair facility, our team did their best to help see you though the process. In addition, you were given a pro-rated refund when you voiced your displeasure. As with any insurance — auto, health, etc. — there is not often a refund if you do not use it. You have had your vehicle for quite a while, so a pro-rated refund is fair, and better than industry standard. We apologize that you were not satisfied overall, but we contest any moral, ethical, or legal questions regarding our business practices. Customers are the only reason we exist as a business, and we take their satisfaction very seriously.
I would strongly caution all prospective people who may purchase a vehicle through McGovern to take extreme caution before getting sucked into buying their additional insurance. I tried a number of areas to take care of my car, and none would take the insurance making it useless. When I told them I didn't want the insurance anymore, they told me I would get a prorated return payment? Prorated? Really? I couldn't even use it, so the insurance as useless....and then they have the audacity to charge you for a service that was not provided. Unethical, and I would dare say Illegal. How can you charge someone for something that you promised to do, and then didn't fulfill that promise. Sounds like a scam on the insurers part as well as McGovern who pleaded the 5th when confronted about their affiliation with this insurance provider.
The only comment I have is that McGovern is selling the insurance. The insurance that you sell is not viable and therefore can't be used as advertised. So I purchased a product that did not meet its advertised commitment. This would be considered a contractual agreement, advertised, pushed on me as being viable and then signed through McGovern. McGovern gets a portion of this sale. So to say that you are absolved of any culpability is wrong. I am involved in business. If I use a second party to assist with my business and that service is paid for by one of my customers and they do not perform, I take full responsibility to resolve the issue and/or terminate the relationship with the questionable and negligent third party vendor. Of course, this is my personal interpretation of proper business etiquette and what it means by putting the customer first. If you have made the decision to continue to sell that insurance, that insurance that is proven to be problematic and not worth the contractual agreement that was signed, then McGovern is knowingly allowing the behavior to continue and do so while collecting a portion of the proceeds. I'll take this one on the chin and learn from this for sure. I certainly wish this was handled differently. As a note, I am sure you have obtained all the information concerning my issue provided by your employees. (Isn't that interesting to come to a conclusion, without reaching out to get my side??) Or maybe it was just more convenient to get their side, make your declaration about customer satisfaction, close the case and move on. Food for thought! "Let the Buyer Beware!!!"

Called McGovern Volvo for a check engine light issue and
Called McGovern Volvo for a check engine light issue and a NY State inspection. It was recommended that an analysis be done and that they perform a fault tracing. After 2 hours, Tyler came out and showed me a lengthy list of repairs needed. As I needed the inspection sticker , I agreed. After more hours of waiting, I asked a young dark haired girl who was helping with service if she might check on the status of my car. Never saw her again. Finally after many hours I entered service to see Tyler who said “ You are still here?” “ I had a dentist appointment.” After being there 8 hours Tyler came out and got me. The cost was $3120.26 he said the inspection was done. The keys are in the car. It was dark out but got in my car, no keys!! Went back into service the whole office was dark, I looked around the desk and found my key in the dark! I drove home which was an hour away. Next morning NO INSPECTION STICKER! I have tried calling repeatedly, the woman at the desk said she would send Tyler an email. I now have called multiple times, no answer. This place is completely bizarre.

Unable to schedule a service appointment for a software upgrade for over 2 weeks now. Multiple times told they would contact me but never have. Service phone calls were never answered and email and chat interactions appear to be auto generated. Sad, had 6 years of great service here and will need to upgrade our 2017 XC90 soon. Can't be another Volvo is there is no service in the area.
