"Deceptive" is a good descriptive word for this dealership. We purchased a brand new pickup and were promised several things by the sales team that they... did not deliver. We asked that the tires be turned around so that the white lettering did not show. They were supposed to do it before delivery but could not get it done for whatever reason. We were coming back for a bed liner and tonneau cover and were assured they would "take care of it" then. They didn't mention an $88 charge. To me when someone says they will "take care of it" that means it is part of the deal. We also called back the day we got the truck to ask that we also get running boards installed when we come back. We were quoted a price by the salesperson of $550 "or so." Imagine our surprise when we went to pickup the truck and the charge was over $800! The difference was the installation even though sales told me the $550 was installed. When I went back to the sales manager he basically said I couldn't prove I was promised the $550 price so I was stuck. They held all the cards at that point. Make sure anything that the salesperson or sales manager promises you either record on your phone or get it in writing because they will back off those promises AFTER you already have items installed. The service team was excellent, unfortunately they get the wrath of customers who have been promised things by sales that they then don't back up.

Awful and deceptive and thus I am going to go after them with the FTC and BBB for deceptive advertising practices. One thing you'll notice is they are... going to sell a new car with 100 miles and paint damage at MSRP sticker price with a manager who is not willing to negotiate the price. Our sales men Fred was annoying and kept pushing us into a Cherokee; though, when we came to the lot we had expressed interest in other cars he was relentless about one Cherokee in particular. He was so overly pushy for this one model I realized quickly that he had an incentive bonus for selling the car and when I called him and his manager out for it they quickly denied it - xxxxxxxxx! I know when someone is pushing a car a lot there is a reasoning for it. Not because it is 'Fred's' favorite that he wants as he tried to tell me he was going to by it, but because he is earning a fat commission bump. It is the same reason someone would wear book bag in a fashion shop because they know wearing the bag will help them sell the bag and until they do they're forced to talk about it and offer it to selective customers who might be willing to bite on the sale. Another annoying thing was the sales floor smelled of xxxx. Literal sewage. Whether they had a brown water leak and thought no one would notice or someone bombed the place with farts, it smelled horrible. The same Jeep they showed us had a $21k sticker in the window as a 'sales price' until 10-14 - there was no notice stating after incentive, rebates, or any language suggesting this price is after incentives. When we agreed to work the numbers with this car they still used the sticker price, tried to force us into accepting financing with Mopar as there was an extra $2k in incentives, but the reality of that 21k sticker was fake. The trick here is they will try and say oh yeah we have discounts applied and that's only how you will get 21k with approved financing through one selected lender and if not, you're paying 2k more. After we got done looking at numbers we were still financing the cost of the car to begin with plus tax and there was no savings. We knew that we had roll over, but the price should have been 21k then incentives added. Screw their tricks, deceptive practices, and xxxx smelling show room.

I purchased a used Jeep Renegade on 11/17/2018. Had the car less than a week and check engine light went on, called service and they said to drive until... convenient for me to bring in for service. Took in the shop on 12/15/2018 for check engine light and hard shifting in transmission. While in the shop vehicle was wrecked by employee. Asked about $2,6544.00damage being reported to CarFax was told would not be reported because damage was done in the shop. Didn't get car back until 1/2/2019 from service. Got back still same shifting problem, took back in the shop on 1/8/2019, got it back on 1/9/2019 still having shifting problem. Had to take Wayne on drive so he could see the problem. Said yes it has a problem but not throwing a code so have to go through a process to get the vehicle repaired. Ran CarFax report and damage is reported and the price of the vehicle is now $2,000 less than what I paid for it. Had a towing charge of $200, have had to take off 1.5 days from work dealing with these issues. Have spoke with Patrick Sales Manager, Keith, Wayne and Tyler in Service. Called and email General Manager with no response. I have purchased over 5 vehicles from them in the past don't understand why this experience has been so bad.

Need more team members like Marty, a real customer service type of guy! No problem can not be overcome, when dealing with him. I recommend all my friends... and family to go see Marty, when it comes to buying new or used.

If I could give 10 stars, I would! First of all, many thanks to my salesperson, Joe Holden, for being very patient with me. And Manager, Marty, for making... it all happen. Marty made it possible for me to get the car I wanted in my limited budget. Greg in financing was thorough and efficient. The car was spotless inside and out. Thanks so much, Tate Team, I can't say enough about you! I love my new used car!

Looking for prices on cars. Found a great deal but then it turns out that you need to qualify for a long list of discounts or be a member of multiple items... to get the so called price. Took time out because of what was listed. So call before you drive out.

Out dated waiting area. Especially For the 4 hour wait on a diagnostic. No concern or rush for customers waiting. I can say that they only charged 1 hour... for the actual 1 hour diagnostic, bit why again did I have to sit there for 4 hours ¿¿¿¿¿

Barnette was such an awesome dealer, low pressure, honest, and funny! We were looking to buy a van for our growing family and wasn’t sure if we were going... to trade our main vehicle... they really worked with us to get us to a comfortable, fair price. If we ever buy a vehicle again it will definitely be from Barnette at Tate in Glen Burnie!
