I had been hunting a specific model for a long time,

I had been hunting a specific model for a long time, waiting out pandemic-era prices and high interest rates. Honda started posting some fantastic deals and I compared across dealerships, finding that Pohanka of Fredericksburg offered promotional 48 month financing while other topped out at 36 months. Even though we are an hour away, we made the trip. I reached out online and came in. We had the pleasure of working with Nicholas Cash. Great name, even better service. I did a lot of research on sales techniques and while Nicholas definitely asked “what kind of budget” I wanted, he was totally fine when I told him I was looking for overall value (and dodged his questions as I learned to do!). Nicholas was extremely knowledgeable about the trims and also models—presenting a few things that would be less expensive with similar size/features. He was also flexible to show us the different trims—it was low pressure and helped assure there would be no surprises or disappointments. Working with Nick was easy, negotiating the final deal with the manager took limited rounds of back and forth. Working with the finance manager, Sabrina, was very easy and again, no pressure with the final round of “would you like these add ons.” She was very clear and helped get us out quickly while thoroughly explaining everything. When it was time to “move” Nick provided complimentary canvas bags, offered his assistance, and had the new vehicle parked next to the trade in to make it easy to load back up. My only complaint is that it did take a long time from in to out—there are definitely process efficiencies that could be introduced. If I could do it again, I’d bring snacks. To be fair, Nicholas did offer to grab us something while we were waiting to sign the final paperwork (we had already agreed so there wasn’t really incentive to go out of his way, haha). Finally, I do want to highlight that I got a great deal on a newly released vehicle—as confirmed by internet strangers, who we know are more honest than we would like them to be! I strongly recommend Nicholas and would definitely make the trip out to Pohanka again.

Our last deal with Pohanka Honda.

Our last deal with Pohanka Honda. We trade vehicles every 3 years and this isn't our first dealing with this company. But it's the last. They took nearly a month to pay off our 2021 HRV trade leaving us to make a payment on a vehicle we no longer owned. At first their Finance Manager told us we'd have to keep making payments, as it was our responsibility. Then they told us Honda Financial would refund our money. After waiting for that a couple weeks we called the General Manager. He acted as if we should have had a check coming from them already. Not the same attitude as the Finance Manager. We did manage to get most of our money refunded, but it's was a chore. We even had to go to Flow Honda to get the introduction to our New car that we weren't given at Pohanka Honda. Only finding out then our new car self drives.. 1

Great Service...

Excellent service. Good discussion with (James King) about which services should be performed on my 2007 CRV. Very, very knowledgeable and very attentive to my needs in keeping my CRV in good, mechanical shape. Great service and great tech. Thanks to James King and to Pohanka Honda in FBurg .

Insanely High Markups

This dealership has the highest markups around. I have done a lot of shopping around and i will tell you, if you are looking for new probably even used, you are going to pay 2k more at Pohanka. They have the highest markup I came across, and give you nothing. Some dealers mark up by requiring paint protection, etc but still are less. Shop around don't let them gouge you.

Go somewhere else, fast

My sale with them was lackluster. During my first service appointment, the service tech backed my brand new 2 month old vehicle into another. Then, icing on the cake, they cancelled the wrong GAP policy of mine without my consent and never notified me of their mistake. I am not sure if they pocketed my money because NO ONE WILL CALL ME BACK! I have been driving without a coverage I paid for, for 7 months. When I reached out to finance, NO ONE has made any attempt to call me back. In fact, they just transfer me back to the reception area; I'm not even able to leave a voicemail. I spoke with a receptionist who told me they were purposely ignoring me. I recommend staying far away and going to Hendrick Honda - their sales and finance team are stellar!

mechanics and customer service poor.

I brought my van in to get the slide doors fixed. They called and said they found the problem and it would be $500 to fix. I gave them the OK. After I got it home, I realized that they didn't fix the problem. I called and they told me to bring it back in. They then said that what they had fixed (and charged me for) wasn't the problem and that it would cost $700 to fix the problem. Then they told me that it might not actually be the problem and I might have to keep coming in until the figure out what the problem is but I should fix what they thought might be it just in case it works!!!!

Great experience while purchasing used RAM.

Best experience I have had at dealer. Everything was negotiated up front and their were zero surprises. They even went the extra mile to help with running boards Could not be happier with the experience.

False CPO and Vehicle Report

First and foremost, my experience with the dealership was pretty good when I purchased an advertised Certified Pre-Owned 2016 Honda Accord in August of 2019. We initially couldn’t agree on a price so my wife and I walked away. The next morning Vivian continued to blow up my phone until they finally agreed to come down to the price we had asked for the night before. Besides that, the car was and has been great. While purchasing, they went on and on about the meticulous inspection the car has to go through to become a CPO Honda. It all sounded great. The issue was today. I went to Carmax to get an appraisal and while they were checking the engine bay, they said the car had been in a front end accident in the past and repaired. At first I didn’t believe them and told them the car went through CPO inspection and everything checked out. They showed me in the seams of the frame and radiator support where it had been re-welded, sealed and sprayed over. I still didn’t believe them and I asked to see another Accord they had on the lot and we examined the frame and radiator support area and sure enough there’s a big difference between a factory spot welded radiator support and mine. They even looked through the area where the fenders bolt onto and you can clearly say the primer that was used. Now I would’ve never known as the body shop did a great job from the outside and the carfax showed nothing reported. My issue is if it was a CPO car, did they really inspect it that meticulously? Just be weary about the vehicle history of the cars you purchase here, especially if they’re advertising it as a high and mighty CPO vehicle.
