Disappointed

BMW X5 was like my dream car, I was in love with its style, for me it was the coolest and best car. Before buying my car, I researched from the internet, picked a couple of cars for test drive and in three weeks prior to buying my car, I test drove 5-6 BMW X5?s. I also tested Mercedes GLK and AUDI Q5 and Q7. At the end of my test drive experiences, I saw that BMW is good from the exterior but not from the interior. The most common problem for BMW?s is that, the arm rest surface in many of them is worn out or torn into pieces. Another problem I experienced was a kind of gas or motor oil smell in the cars. Also the drive is more loud and not as smooth when compared to suv?s like AUDI or Mercedes. After test driving and researching I understood that if you?re going to buy a BMW x5, it should have less miles, for example around 50K miles and newer. Otherwise you might be disappointed and experience problems. I decided to go for AUDI q5 and bought a 2012 Audi q5 yesterday. It is not as loud as BMW and the driving experience is more smooth. Interior design and accessories look more high quality when compared to X5.

I love this car!

This car is stylish and drives great! It has more room inside than I would have expected. It was a great value for the money.

Overall best vehicle I have owned

By far the best vehicle I have ever owned in this class. I have owned and driven many SUV?s in my time, but the X5 is by a wide margin first on the list for styling, dependability, performance, and creature comforts. It blends perfectly performance and comfort in the same package. I bought the xdrive 35d for fuel economy that has the needed power on tap. It is a blessing to go from a Jeep Commander Hemi averaging 11 mpg to a vehicle with the same performance getting closer to 30 mpg. The power is there when you need it but for cruising at highway speeds the smoothness is no comparison. Although the car basically drives itself, I find you have to be more aware due to the fact the real to perceived speed ratio is about 10-15 mph off. I live in northern West Virginia and the roads are very twisty with lots of hills and valleys. Its common in the X5 to be going 10 mph faster than the recommended speed around turns as this vehicle handles like it?s on rails. I have read other reviews complaining of the steering being very stiff, but I find it to be very tight and responsive.

Everyone should drove one

I absolutely love my BMW X5! I have had it for 1 year now and enjoy driving it everyday. I will definitely buy another one when it is time part with this one. It has excellent handling on the road even in snow. Seats are very comfortable, backup cameras amazing surrounding the car, lots of room in the rear, and love my heated seats & steering wheel.

Great diesel gas mileage

Combination of sporty and luxury. Wish it were bigger and BMW made a larger SUV. Backup camera and front camera are not consistent

Luxury and Sport Combined

We bought this car to replace my wife's Ford Edge. Very comparable space wise--plenty of room in the backseat, unlike the Audi Q5 or Mercedes GLK. Compared with M-class/GLE from Mercedes, but preferred the interior styling (Mercedes had the Edge in smoothness of ride/control). Very comfortable and stylish for this class. We've really enjoyed it!

This vehicle sucks

This car does not ride smooth, not enough leg room, stupid computer system that keeps sending error and warning messages because it needs an update, a manual one at that .

BMW X5

This was the best car I?ve owned ever and I put over 190,000 miles on this car. The car was excellent in cold weather, in warm weather and for long drives. Great BMW Sound System and cold Weather Package made this a super car to own.
