I spent many months researching and testdriving Crossovers, and looked at the Acura RDX, Lexus RX, Cadillac SRX and Lincoln MKX, and Ford Edge. While looking at the Cadillac I happened to spot a Equinox, which i didnt even consider perhaps for snobbish reasons. I arranged a testdrive and The Equinox drove beautifully, was solid, and the cabin was very quiet. I found out that it also had just about all the other features that the others had but at 10-15k less! And in my opinion, it looks as good or better inside and out. Since buying it, my opinion of it has grown sevenfold. I got the V6 since i have a bit of a leadfoot and it is quicker then i was lead to believe. It is a joy to drive and get many compliments, whereever we go. Now we are taking that 10-15K we saved and going to Italy!!

A Great Looking, Comfortable, Very Practical Car.

For many years I've driven Silverados, Camaros and Corvettes, and I loved them, but I finally bought a practical car and I'm really loving it! In May I sold my 2008 Vette and my 2007 Silverado Ext. Cab, put a bunch of money back in the bank, and bought my Cardinal Red, 2011 Equinox. It's a 4 cyl, FWD, LTZ with a Sunroof, Nav and Rear seat entertainment system. I had the factory 17" aluminum wheels chromed, and bought some Lloyds mats for the front, center and rear cargo area, and it's done. I'm a big guy at 6'3" and 250lbs, and my son is over 6'5". Even with a sunroof, the interior has plenty of every kind of room, in the front OR back seats for either of us. The leather seats in the Equinox are of much better quality than those that were in my Vette, The Pioneer stereo system kicks A, and it has a great nav system, back up camera, parking assist, power tailgate, Onstar, Sirius/XM, a super quiet ride, and it's great for long road trips. If you want the best gas mileage from your Equinox you have to get it with the 4 cyl, FWD, and the 17" wheels. If you pretend you have a egg behind the gas peddle when your accelerating, and set the cruise control between 55 - 60 mph on a flat highway the car will get 32 mpg. At 65 - 70 mph it'll get 29 - 30 mpg, and at 75 mph you're going to get just over 27 mpg. Now if you drive your Equinox like you're use to driving a '08 Vette, you'll still get mixed mileage in the mid to high 20's. I haven't gotten less than a mixed 24.?? mpg, and I actually set the trip meter and do the math with each fill up. Those of you with the 18" or either set of the 19" wheels and tires will get less mpg and a worse ride. The weight difference between the stock 17" wheels and tires and the 18" and 19" wheel choices is drastic. With heavier wheels you'll burn more fuel to get the car rolling and use more brake to get it to stop, and with less side wall compliance on the tires your ride will be rougher too. The Equinox is a car so nice I'd buy it twice!

Have had the car for about 3 months and we love it. No problems and car drives great. Feels like a larger vehicle than it is. Have not been able to get 32 mpg as yet but we are getting an average of 26 mpg+. An excellent chance to invest in a good American car made by an American car company. Shopped around but had to pay full price as there apparently was a shortage of the 4 cylinder cars at the time. Have the electric rear door and back up camera and highly recommend spending the money for these.

MY FIRST ONE WAS DESTROYED IN AN ACCIDENT. BUT GIVEN THE WAY THIS CAR PREFORMED AND LIVED UP TO ITS REP, I KNEW I WANTED TO REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER. IN THE ACCIDENT, IT WAS ROLLED OVER-5 AIRBAGS DEPLOYED INSTANLY AND THAT IS WHAT SAAVED MY WIFE AND I FROM ANY INJURY. THE PARAMEDICS WHERE AMAZED THAT WE WALKED AWAY FROM IT. THE CAR IS JUST AS COMFORTABE AND PLEASANT TO DRIVE AS OUR PREVIOUS TOWN AND COUNTRY. I GET ABOUT 31MPG AT A CONSTANT 70 ON LEVEL ROADS. CAN'T BEAT THAT.

My husband and I drove the Equinox back in 2008, and while we liked it alright, we ended up buying a Prius for the gas mileage. Well, here we are three years later replacing our other car, and we came back to try the Equinox again. With one child on her own and one in college, we didn't really need a huge vehicle but we wanted something with a bit more space and versatility in addition to our Prius and still decent gas mileage. We were immediately impressed with the changes that were made for the redesign of the Equinox in 2010. In a decision between the Toyota Rav4, the Ford Escape, and the Chevy Equinox, the Equinox won hands down. The seats are supportive and comfortable, it rides like a dream, and it has more features than most even on the base LS. We opted for the 2011 2LT with the optional sunroof added.....nice! The heated premium cloth seats are wonderful in northern NY winters, the bluetooth calling feature is fantastic and easy to use.....no more digging for my phone in my purse and having to deal with the speakerphone to make a call. Now, we've had our car for a couple weeks, and there are a few negatives, though they aren't enough to spoil our impression with this car. The mileage stated is no where near what we've been getting so far. Still good for the size of the car, but a little disappointing. There is a pretty big blind spot between the front windshield and the door windows. And I find that the 4-cyl. engine has a bit of a lag when you're coasting at slow speed (like coming to a light) and then put your foot on the gas to speed up again. It hesitates enough to make it a bit annoying. Otherwise, it has enough pep for me in my daily driving. On the plus side, there is tons of leg room in the back seat, versatility in the seat position, the blue dash and cabin lighting is nice, the display in the center of the dash has several screens you can toggle between (including avg. mpg, avg. speed, digital speedometer, trip odometers, etc.). After owning a Prius, I love that I can also keep track of my avg. mpg while driving like I do with the Prius. The stereo is top-notch, and car has plenty of cargo space for moving our college kid home without driving around unused space the rest of the year. I love the adjustable driver seat with lumbar support. This car will be great on long trips! It feels like a quality car, and we're very happy with the Equinox!

I really like the sporty and stylish design of the Equinox. The interior has nice fit and finish and is very functional. I like the ability of the back seat to slide back and forth. When I was reading other owner reviews, the EPA mileage and it not being accurate has been a bone of contention. I have gotten really close to the 22 mpg city and 32 hwy. I do not do much highway driving but on a recent short trip I got around 31 mpg. Overall, I am greatly impressed with my first Chevrolet product.

My husband and I just bought are 2011 Chevy Equinox and I am in love with it. We got a good deal for our money and it only has 14,000 miles. I really like all the great gadgets and it was one of the main reasons why I wanted it. I really like that you can bluetooth your phone and use the steering wheels to answer and hang up calls. I like the onstar and the phone minutes. I really enjoy that the back seat can be adjusted as well. I think that is a great feature for someone that has kids because you can move them up closer to you if need be. The comfort level is great. I like sitting up a little higher than a normal care. The exterior is amazing and I get many compliments on it everyday. I also like the back up cam and the remote start. This car has so much to offer a young small family like us and we are just in awe by it... I dont think that the estimated mileage is quite correct I am averaging about 26 on the highway doing about 70 no more... It has good power and gets up and goes... Great buy.. I would highly reccomend:)

Pros Legroom is excellent, being 6' 3", first small SUV that I actually fit in. Styling is very modern. Considered an Escape, but they looked like they were designed in 2000. Plus no leg room. Love the ride and the electric assist steering is great once you get used to it. Road and engine noise is low for a 4 cyl. 5 yr/100K powertrain warranty is a plus. Steering wheel controls are very nice. Lots of standard features, but I stepped up to the LT mainly for looks. Cons A bit over priced compared to other small SUV's. Transmission could use some refinements. Shifting at slow speeds is sometimes hard, especially when slowing down. So far the gas mileage is not up to what Chevy states. I drive mostly highways and I'm only getting about 26 MPG. I think the ECO button is pretty much useless. Could use vents for the rear passengers. Placement of the door unlock button is horrible.

I live in Chicago but bought my 2010 Equinox 2LT in Denver since a white 2LT with 6 cylinder and AWD was hard to find. Have traveled as far east as North Carolina. I have driven over 23,000 miles in 6 months. Other than 3 oil changes and 1 set of wiper blades, I have only put gas in the 'Nox. I'm glad that I got the V-6 and still get very good gas mileage and the extra power I wanted for driving in the Colorado and New Mexico mountains. The All Wheel Drive made me feel safe in midwestern winter driving. My husband has a 2010 Honda CR-V but we take the 'Nox when we travel together for pleasure. The CR-V is better suited for local driving and shopping. The 'Nox is our road car. Plenty of power, very quiet inside and very nice seats and controls. The dealer has been very nice. I love the heated leather seats, the sunroof and the Pioneer stereo system. You gotta go see and drive this car! I feel more secure knowing that OnStar is in the car with me and XM Radio makes my long drives much more enjoyable. I think it is a lot more car than most higher priced imports. It is nice to know that I bought a great car from an American car company. My last car was a Chevy Blazer that had 169,000 miles when I sold it. Very few problems and I liked that car. I Love My New 'Nox!
