For those who have a difficult time exiting a vehicle, this is by far the easiest. My wife and I have a difficult time exiting a convential sedan. The seats in a full size SUV are too high for ease of entry and exit. The Equinox is perfect for both of us. Also, the rearview camera with the large display on the dash is a tremendous improvement over the in-mirror display.

My wife and I purchased a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox LTZ about 2 months ago. We priced and test drove a lot of vehicles before coming to a final decision. The models we considered were the Ford Escape, Ford Edge, Ford Explorer, GMC Terrain, GMC Acadia, Buick Enclave, Mazda CX5, Mazda CX9, Dodge Journey, and Chevrolet Traverse. The Equinox by far and away had the best value for all of the features that we wanted. We were also extremely pleased with the looks of the exterior styling and the interior design. Out of all of the vehicles we drove, the Ford Edge was the only one we enjoyed driving better; however, with the same features it would have been 8-10k more and not much bigger. My wife and I love this vehicle and are very happy with the purchase. We were also impressed with the ability to get just about every feature that you can get on a vehicle with the price that we paid. The only complaint that we have is the fact that the vehicle is not achieving the fuel mileage that is suggested. We were told that the vehicle needs time to adjust to your driving style before maximum fuel economy can be acheived; however, I don't think it is going to reach the advertised mileage. With that said I would recommend this vehicle.

I had a Honda CRV and tried buying another one, but the Honda dealers in this area really are awful at return customers. The new CRV was okay some of the the design changes are wierd, however. We went to the Chevy dealer next and were treated really well. Great deal and the Equinox feels much more sturday than the Honda. The MPG are about the same and the deal was SOOOOOOOOO much better. The upshot is I put almost 120K miles on a car in four years, so I need a vehicle that will keep me safe. This one seems to fit the bill. In the bad weather several times now the car hugs the road and negotiates my nightmare driveway beautifully. Something the Honda wasn't as good on, both vehicles are Inline 4s and both vehicles are AWD. I feel at this point we made the right choice. We now have two new 2012 Equinox's in the garage and are happy with them both (the other is the V-6)

Purchased a 1lt on 6/1/2012,a 4cyl with the drivers convenience pkg. compared to subaru forester, mazda c/x5,honda crv,& toyota rav4.Drove & researched all except the rav4(insufficient leg room) the others drove fine but each required unwanted equipment inorder to get certain items. The equinox was the least expensive, & had the best ride & was the quietest on the road. Having gone into this purchase with the knowledge that numerous owners were disappointed with the mpg. They are telling the truth, it looks like about 22/23 mpg mix of city & highway driving. Very early opinion but so far quite satisfied. Will follow with a more seasoned opinion.

I bought my 2012 Equinox last Sept. 2015 used of course. It is now July 2016 and the front dashboard is not working, No GPS, radio cuts out, turn signals don't work when Dash goes black, then pops back on again, The Dealership tells me I have to replace the unit to the cost of $1,200.00 plus tx. This is a 4 year old car, why would this occur? No one seems to have an answer, after all driving it shouldn't cause this problem, I think it is a flaw with the manufacture of the car. I contacted Oshawa & they are following up with the Dealership & this repair. I do have to pay $100.00 for the car to be tested for the problem. Won't buy a GM again!!

Equinox has a Great design, and looks. The mileage is fantastic for a crossover SUV. The Navigation feature is user friendly and great just to see where you are and get fraffic updates. The interior design makes you think you're in a much more expensive vehicle and handles really good. I give the Equinox 2 thumbs up.

Bought my 2012 Equinox 2 1/2 yrs ago and have really enjoyed it. I have bad knees and the height of the seats makes it very easy to slide in and out. My engine light came on last week and took it back to the dealership( they do all my service work). They found a crack in the cylinder wall and have to replace the engine. Thankfully I have extended warranty so it won't cost me anything. The engine only had 52K miles. I heard someone else in my area had the same problem..Without the warranty I would be stuck with a broken car and another 4 yrs of payments. Hope no one else has had this problem. Other than this problem, I really enjoy the car.

Good fit for seniors

by from Arlington Heights, Il on July 13, 2012

Purchased in March and put 2500 miles on it. Like the good gas mileage and don't mind the extra shifting of the auto trans. Happy with room and ride as replacement for Malibu.

quality ride

by from Phoenix, AZ on June 18, 2012

What can I say, I love my car. It rides really nice. I feel extremely safe and comfortable in it. The brakes got their first serious test recently and they performed quite admirably.
