The first car I ever purchased new was the 2008 Chevy Malibu LT. Originally, I wanted a Honda Accord, but as soon as I sat in the Malibu, I was in love. The remote start and heated leather seats sealed the deal, also. The interior is so stylish--my only complaint is the cup holders are small. I've had my car for almost 3 years and people still think it's a brand new car. There is way more leg room in the front and back seats than my mom's suv. The 4 cylinder is lacking a bit in acceleration but it more than makes up for it at the pump--I never spend more than $40 to fill up (even with $3.50+ gas prices). Overall this has been the best car I've ever owned and would recommend it to anyone!

I was driving a rather unimpressive Chrysler Sebring which circumstances forced me to buy at the time before buying my new Malibu. From the moment, I first seen this car I knew I wanted it. Once I test drove it, I was sold. It is super smooth everywhere, nice quiet ride, great stereo system, and the fuel economy deserves an honorable mention though it could be better. The 2008 4 cylinder model gets about 2-3 less MPG than all the later models, then again I hear that the newer 4 cylinders are weak so that could be why. I have tinted the windows, added chrome door handles, and changed the basic LS wheels which were very dull plastic covers. The only complaint that I have about this car is that there needs to be much more technology in it or at least a space to add a nav system. Other than that this car is going to be mine for a while! I'd put this against an import any day!!

I HAVE A 2008 2LT MALIBU. I HAVE HAD MANY CARS IN MY 59 YEARS, AND I MUST SAY THIS CAR IS THE BEST. I DRIVE MAINLY CITY DRIVING AND THIS MORNING WHEN I CHECKED IT WAS AVERAGING 25.3 MPG. IT IS QUIET, SMOOTH , AND EVEN GREAT IN THE WINTER. MY PARENTS ARE COMFORTABLE IN THE BACK SEAT, AND WE ENJOY ALL THE FEATURES INCLUDUNG THE TURN BY TURN NAVIGATION WHICH IS EASY AND WORKS BETTER THAN MY PORTABLE NAV. I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WOULD BUY A FOREIGN CAR OVER THIS. { I HAVE HAD A FEW JAPANESE CARS IN THE PAST,AND WOULD RATE THIS BETTER OVERALL } THANK YOU CHEVY FOR SURPASSING THOSE OTHER GUYS!

only 60k miles and already had 3 lock cylinders replaced.car needs both lower ball joints replaced.i just picked up a low beam headlight to replace a faulty one. turns out that the only way you can access the headlight lamp is to REMOVE THE FRONT BUMPER. it will involve 29 screws, bolts or fasteners being removed and the dealer reportedly charges people 300 smackers for the job. what a joke. ford here i come.seats also very uncomfortable on long trips.

OK, I'm going to admit in the past, the Malibus I have rented were very bulky, a loud right and overall not pleasant. But, I recently had a totalled car and needed to rent a car. The 09 malibu was the only one available. So, automatically I was hesitant. But when I first sat in the car, I was please. It was very comfortable, the drive was VERY smooth and all the controls were in close reach. I have been a honda/toyota customer forever. But, now that I have driven this car for a couple weeks, I have never liked driving a car so much as I have with the new Malibu. I have now decided that the Malibu is the car I want to get now, and I wont consider any other car. I averaged 25.5 mpg in town. Very please with that. And for a 4cyl, it has some slow pickup, but its not like I'm racing or anything. Very smooth. Over all..... I love this car! Not to mention that is looks awesome too!

After one week, I am impressed. I bought the base model and still got plenty of features including 1 year onstar turn by turn gps. Didn't get the available blue tooth (available with the LT model), but the I am able to plug my cell phone into the XM radio IPOD jack and talk thru the onstar mike and radio speakers. Pretty cool. So far, I've averaged 26 mpg mostly easy city driving. Styling, fuel economy, and value. GM got this one right.
