From 2011 to 2013 *wow*

We bought a new 3.5 Santa Fe Limited in 2011 I believe it was SUV of the year that year also. But this 2013 Sport 2.0T Limited is head and shoulders better than the 2011. Love the heated steering wheel, ability to change the steering feel ( comfort in summer, sport in winter for me) the seats are far better both bolstering and and feel, rear camera is much better and faster working, love the heated and ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, being in Canada, it helps. The panorama sunroof is gigantic, rear sunshades are different, and power sunshade is great. Bluetooth is better in this one, turn on the surround sound in the 10 speaker Infinity stereo and enjoy. The 2.0 L Turbo is actually quicker than the 3.5 V6 in the 2011. The steering wheel controls are better, the placement of seat heater buttons is better. This SUV is a giant step forward for Hyundai in my opinion. No comment on the gas mileage yet as there is only 560 kms on this one and it took until 3000 kms for the 3.5 to start getting decent mileage. I love this vehicle and would recommend to anyone. Looks, feels and rides like a much more expensive vehicle. Hope it is as reliable as the 2011 was for us. I expect it will. Also one of best warranties out there. I had a Cadillac CTS before switching to Hyundai, no comparison, Santa Fe is much better.

Love My Sport

I had a Santa Fe 2009 GLS and now I bought the Sport 2.0 Turbo. I love this car. I love the look, the interior, the stylish exterior and mostly the color (red). My only complaint is that sometimes and I don't really know why, it sounds like a train going over my car. I have the crossbars and not sure if it has to do with the wind hitting it at times but other than that I love it. I checked out the Jeep Wrangler which was too rich for my blood and the Ford Escape was too small. I did not like the looks of the new Ford Explorer. This met all of my needs.

Satisfied

I love this car! and so does my teenage son! We like the intuitive touch screen, the gas mileage (not quite as good as advertised but definitely better than our 2005 volvo xc 90) and all the features such as heated seats, all weather mats and capacity. We needed the third row of seats and happy to say, those who use them have been impressed as well. Shortly after we bought this car, it was hit in the partking lot and had to go for some body work. Driving a crossover made by a different manufacturer (Buick) helped me to realize how much I really appreciate Midknight (my Santa Fe) in terms of handling, integration of blue tooth with phone, etc. My teenager appreciates the head turning quotient and the ease of handling and the fact that his drumset fits.

Great features for the price!

I've always owned Hondas, Nissans, or Mercedes and I am very impressed with this vehicle. The exterior is classy and the interior has more quality features than most higher end cars.

2013 Santa Fe GLS V6 - car that fits

The challenge was to replace the 2003 Pilot that, as a result of some 300 trips over mountain passes, rusted out. The new Pilot compromised their passenger seating - making the new one, a non starter. After driving many cars, a simple criteria: 1) fit 6' 6" persons - no sunroof, but with heated seats for friends. 2) AWD to avoid chains required in the pass, can go up a 1 mile/1000' vertical gravel driveway, and an still be an exceptional highway driver. 3) fits a bike in the back or other large people 5) Good value, mileage and reliable After owning a Santa Fe GLS V6 for about 2 weeks - I've put 2000 miles on it and I'm happy. It's hard finding heated seats in a car with no sunroof to get some headroom. The GLS has a long wheel base, flawless drivetrain for the highway and the AWD doesn't chop up the steep gravel driveway like my neighbors Merc GL. The back fits a road bike without removing the front tire. The passenger seat is on par with the drivers so if my spouse drives, I can sleep! I gave the performance 4 stars because it's not as quick in the turns as an older sports car like RDX - but that's not it's purpose.. The bonus is it looks good..

Santa Fe Turbo

As a new owner, I can only provide my initial responses to my Santa Fe Sport Turbo. I am exceedingly pleased with the practical design and ease of movement in the car. Placement and feel of the controls are intuitive. The comfort of the seats and the ability to alter the format of seating is well thought out. I have two car seats in the bench back seat and am still able to physically sit between the seats if necessary. Even with the carseats in place, I can utilize the center pass through for large items. I have been driving a 530i BMW for over 7 years, so this is a change, although I have driven Jeeps and 4 wheel drives all my life. I am impressed by the power of the Turbo and the fact that Hyundai provides a steering choice: normal, comfort and sport. I have the car in sport mode and am still hoping to find that sweet spot for more rigid steering. It is a personal choice on my part and does not reflect on the Santa Fe's ability, I am still a fan of a stiffer feel in the steering column and on the road. That said, I am immensely pleased with the car overall and am equally impressed with Hyundai's ability to meet the market place and provide a vehicle with such detail and attention to craft, comfort and dependability. Drive one, test it out...I think that you will be astounded at the excellence of this vehicle.

love this Santa Fe

Bought mainly because I wanted a bigger car with more storage and comfort. For 12 years I drove a small sedan because (at that time) I put on a lot of miles. This car gets almost as good mileage with a lot more power. I wish I had rear view camera but that only came with expensive package of other upgrades. Also this car should have safety beepers for an obstruction when you back up... but nope. Still I love this car. Feel good in it.

2nd worst car we've ever had

I try desperately to like this car. The exterior styling was a huge leap forward and the creature comforts on the surface seem great for the MSRP. Unfortunately, this car suffers from the same shortcomings as our last Santa Fe... it does not hold up. The bluetooth doesn't hold a connection to iphones (Hyundai is aware and has been working on a fix) The suspension is a year old with 28,000 miles, and is already failing. As a result, the tires are wearing unevenly and will soon also need to be replaced. My last major complaint is the transmission. It is not slipping yet, but it is unsteady when accelerating gradually with steady pressure on the pedal. When passing or merging on the highway, the trans will not know what gear it should be in and eventually over rev the engine and do nothing in terms of accelerating forward motion. If you are still considering this car, be advised that if you do not complete every service with hyundai, they will fight tooth and nail on warranty work and, even if you win, you are stuck with a lemon with no resale value.

Santa Fe All the Way

*I wrote one of these a couple reviews back. I just wanted to do an update* We took our 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe Limited fwd with the Technology Package from Wisconsin to Georgia. We are moving there and went down and back two times since we bought it not even three weeks ago. We had 3 adults and 2 teens with. My tall son sat comfortably in the third row. He said there was more leg room than in a minivan's third row! We had to pack light of coarse, but took eveything we needed. Here comes the best part; we got 32.3 mpg on the highway!! No modifications or anything! We were going 70 mph with eco mode turned on. We highly recommend the new Santa Fe! We get so many turned heads driving down the road, it's such an awesome looking crossover. The only regret we have is not buying one sooner!
