2012 Hyundai SONATA consumer reviews

Engine locked up on me twice. When I took the car in I was told it wouldn't be covered under the recall since I was the 2nd owner. I know now that I should always verify these things.

Has been a great car. Very reliable and great gas mileage. Got plenty of compliments on the looks and very comfortable on longer trips. I would recommend it to family and friends.

The only issue I’ve noticed with this car is electrical. Somtimes I’ll press the volume+ button and the Bluetooth audio starts speaking instead. Or I’ll press cruise control and it just doesn’t come on. This also happened with my previous 2012 Hyundai Sonata. Other than that I love the car.

I bought my Sonata pre-owner but it was in pristine shape and obviously well cared for and maintained. The only problem I had is the engine in it was part of the Hyundai recall I wasn’t made aware of that from the dealer, so only after after 2 months of owning it the engine did seize. But I must say Hyundai took care of it right aware and now I have a brand new engine in the car. Other then that this car has been super reliable and runs smooth, and surprisingly has some get up and go.

This car has had so many recalls that I don't feel safe driving it. I would purchase a new car, but its completely paid off and I do not want another car payment right now. Such a waste of money! Currently the key gets stuck in the ignition and I have to unplug some of the wiring just to get the key out! However, this is not part of a recall yet, but I'm sure I will receive a notice very soon!

Was hesitant about Hyundai reliability when I first purchased this car six years ago. I loved the aggressive design and style. Since then I've put 65k on my 2012 Hyundai Sonata GLS and I've only had a high pressure fuel pump replaced under warranty. I now have 98000+ miles on it and still drives like a luxury car. MPG is @ 26 combined. The ride is smooth and absorbs bumps. Even though I've looked at Honda, Toyota brands--I keep coming back to how well this car was made and the value you get.

This car it's very reliable and give me a good mileage for the gas. I love the extras like moon roof, usb connections, navigation, sirius xm radio, and hands free phone.

This car fits me at 6ft 1in. I call it my little rocket. Great on long trips. Fits four just fine. Large truck space. Very comfortable.
