I am very impress with the Jeep Patriot, I have driven Fords since my high school years, 80"s, and don't regret buying a Jeep Patriot. I don't know why the expert reviews are so hard on this SUV, We own a Suzuki Grand vitara, a Ford Escape and the Patriot is a better looking SUV. I am glad I went with the people reviews and not with the expert reviews. Smooth ride, enough power for a 4 cylinder (2.4), the interior is roomy and no blind spots. I would highly recommend the Jeep Patriot.

Best 4x4 for the Money

I have owned my 2014 Patriot Latitude with the 2.4 liter engine and six speed automatic transmission for a year now. I love it more and more every day. It has been reliable and offers confident handling in the Minnesota Winter. I have owned two Grand Cherokees and I like the new model also. The Patriot is smaller and has less power than my previous 5.7 liter HEMI but it is ?zippy? with the new 6 speed. The first weekend I had the vehicle my family and I went on a 250 mile road trip, 500 miles round trip. My three children (8,5 and 4) fit in the back seat fine even with car seats in place. My wife was in the passenger seat and I was driving. My Patriot also had the family?s weekend worth of luggage/baggage in the cargo space, it was full. Driving on the highway at 65 mph I was able to get 30+ mpg. I have gladly traded the un-needed horsepower for double the fuel economy. Oh yeah, and the Patriot is $10,000-$25,000 less.

Loving It

Just purchased a 2014 Patriot Latitude. I am not mechanically inclined, but I know what I like, and this SUV rides smooth and drives like a dream. So very pleased with my purchase.

I use to have a 1995 grand cherokee, got it with 250,000 miles on it, but was able to use it for another 3 yrs, got a ford sport trac for 5 years, and trade it in..went back to the jeep family because i know i can depend on it.. 1st time i ever owned a brand new 2014 Patriot sport 2.4l, got a good deal, i love the retro design in and out!! Good performance, very roomy, ,comfortable, huge cargo space, you can put a lot of stuff!! So far i do have 2,200 plus miles on my jeep, so far, i have no complain! So happy with my jeep! Well, everybody has their own opinion, but if your looking a reasonable price that fits your budget, i highly recommend this cute suv. You will never go wrong !!!!! I love my jeep... Happy!!!!!!!!

2014 Jeep Patriot High Altitude FWD Got the vehicle with one previous owner, with 19,000 miles. This vehicle is replacing a four door Pontiac Bonneville (which was a fantastic ride - but it had seen it's best days) ... I recommend this to anyone who wants practicality, good looks and a bit of sophistication .. whether you take road trips with it or not. Let's get the worst part of the car out of the way: the CVT Transmission. This has been replaced on many Chrysler vehicles with a 6-speed auto, because people like to have their car SHIFT - cleanly and with no fuss, to the next gear. The CVT, in normal mode, doesn't really do that ... It has a 'gradual rubber-band' concept .. it slowly expands with acceleration, and contracts ... and does leave an unsatisfying feeling. It's like when you get above 15mph it's gripping the engine too tightly, and doesn't let the power unwind. ... But that's in REGULAR mode -- Chrysler had done a not great job of advertising the Auto-Stick feature, and how to use it. - Using the auto-stick, this 2.0 liter engine comes to life! It's good at merging onto the highway ... As you go to turn right, onto the entrance ramp, you put the shifter to the right and a gear will appear (like 5) .. then before you turn you push it to the left and back, quickly three times, and puts you down to 2nd gear ... and gives you all the power you need to get on the freeway! - popping it repeatedly to the right, as the revs signal, 'till you hit 6th gear ... Then you hold it to the right, for 'Drive', give it some gas and put the cruise where you want it. It's easy ... and actually fun! It does mimic a stick-shift ... You basically got a 6-speed built in to the shifter, but many people didn't know it. Even these professional car places, like __, or _&_ just drove it in auto mode, and clocked 0-60mph in freakin' 10.7 seconds or something. I assure you the High Altitude can get to 60 WAY quicker than that. Normal leisurely driving around town, doing errands, with the trans in normal mode you go just fine. The trans is a bit loud, and so is the whole powertrain, but the " professional " reviewers don't understand a lot of people don't care about that. -- I'm a musician and I listen to the stereo all the time. Which, this car has the upgraded stereo - with the sun and sound package (including awesome moonroof) .. Uconnect center, to hook up your smart phone and have hands-free communication ... and Sirius Satellite Radio! Bad-a__. It's got leather seats, 17inch tires and awesome mineral grey rims. As well as the beautiful gun-metal Maximum Steel exterior paint, the sheer amount of stuff in this car really surprised me. And though this a genuine compact SUV, on the highway heavy wind doesn't really bother it - The suspension takes curves with aplomb, and the Patriot never feels tippy. Brakes feel solid, and safe. Cruising between 70-75mph (Jeep has excellent Overdrive) I've gotten about 29mpg highway. The inside really is flat-out luxury - Really cold a/c, with 360-degree vent control ... cool lighted cup-holders ... and heated leather seats, for cold winter days. The 2.0 liter multi-valve motor isn't a torque monster, but if you rev it it will go, on the highway ... and (especially using QT 89 octane gas) will keep up with modern V6s, off the stoplight to 50mph, using the auto-stick. {once you've had a few weeks practice with it}. I don't understand people's reviews different places saying the Patriots with the 2.0 are slow ... They're not. You've got six gears, and 158 horsepower .. And they're ALL THERE. (unlike many import small SUVs) After a couple thousand miles the High Altitude is a great experience, for me and my wife (who travels all around the western part of our state, for her job) ... All in all a satisfying purchase :-)

The more I drive it, the more I like it! Mileage from 21 to 28,very responsive steering, and if you step hard on the gas-good pickup, even when passing.

This young senior citizen loves her first Jeep. Have driven it for two years, 30,000 miles. Two minor module malfunctions covered under warranty at three months; otherwise only oil changes and tire rotations. This Jeep is fun to drive, 2.4 engine very responsive, turns on a dime. I could have used a little deeper cargo area for tall objects and larger interior cubbies for my junk. Rear visibility is much better than other suv's. I traded an '06 Camry with only 75,000 miles and am so much happier with the Patriot. I recommend this vehicle and do not understand the negative 'professional reviews' which caused me to hesitate before purchasing. Cost helped make to my decision.

I purchased a 2014 Jeep Patriot in March. I got the 2.4 liter engine, 5-speed manual transmission, 4X4, with an optional leather interior, power windows, keyless entry and cruise control. The vehicle had every feature on my must have list, and all but one on my wish list. The desired color was a Mineral Grey or Maximum Steel. The only one that had all the other features was the Cherry Red. I decided that color is not that important to me, as long as it's not black. I've already outfitted it with digital fit floor and cargo liners, burled cherry instrument and dash applique, mud flaps, a full-size spare tire (which fits in the same hole as the 50 mile doughnut) and a few other extras. I also purchased the extended warranty. That extended the factory warranty to 999,999,999 miles or 99 years, and is transferable if and when I sell it. April 2014 is the last month this phenomenal warranty will be available. I believe it expires on 1 May 2014. Since I tend to hang on to my cars for a long time, this was a no-brainer. I also got the paint, glass and interior treatment, which seemed like a really good idea. I plan to keep this Jeep for 20 years or more. I have less than 300 miles on it so far, but it's a great little car. It looks terrific, handles well, though a little underpowered compared to my former 2000 Dodge Dakota, which had a V-8. It gets much better gas mileage than the Dakota. I spoke so highly about it that my best friend bought the Jeep Compass nine days after I bought mine. Everyone I've spoken with who has owned or driven a Jeep has nothing but great things to say about the entire Jeep line. With the extended warranty, I'm looking forward to many years of driving excitement.

Traded in a Diesel Pickup for this much smaller vehicle. Already was familiar with Jeep products and was pleased with the way the Jeep dealer handled the deal. Choose the manual transmission so vehicle could be flat towed behind a motorhome. It has been some time since I have driven a manual transmission but found it easy to retrain myself. Vehicle is peppy in the mountains, handles well at freeway speeds and is as fuel efficient as advertised. A/C and heat systems are efficient and A/C does not drag down the 2.0 engine that can be noticed Much smaller than the truck I was driving but still holds a lot of cargo and/or passengers. Leg room is a bit short so on extended trips it will be necessary to get out and stretch now and than but ride is quite comfortable
