Explore the 2004 Saturn Vue

After 1 year...

After 1 year, I have driven my 2004 saturn vue a lot. Several 10 hour drives and several 8 hour drives - so much so I doubled my milage over this past year (30K up to 60K). Rants - I apparently pushed my hazard button too hard because i pushed it right into my dashboard. That happened recently and am working on getting it fixed. - I just got new tires and realigned because I thought it was pulling. After 30K miles though...i guess it was due Raves: - we love it! like i said, my vue took many road trips this past year and so naps happened. My boyfriend (6') and I (5') didn't have many problems getting comfortable. - I fit 3 adults in the backseat comfortably. - the grocery storage in the very back has come in handy. I even have enough space when the storage is in-use for the rest of my belongings behind it Overall, I love it and recommend it to anyone

Great car, but a bit noisy

I purchased my Saturn Vue in 2004. It has been extremely reliable, but I am beginning to have trouble with the transmission slipping and my gas cap is constantly sticking (I have 116,000 miles on the vehicle thus far). The most major complaint I have is that it is a bit loud in the interior (due to the tire noise). It is tolerable, but I do have to turn up the radio and volume on my cell phone to hear. Otherwise, it is a roomy, comfortable ride.

stay away from 4 cyl & awd

My wife and I purchased a 2004 from our local saturn dealer in Sept 2007. In the last 2 months, we have had 3 transmissions replaced. It has spent more time at the dealership than on the road. We have tried to trade it in. Not even the dealership we purchased the vue from want it back. Nobody wants the vehicle. Don't purchase this vehicle. My wife and daughter don't trust this vehicle. They don't want to get in it anymore.

never deal with saturns

My transmission has gone out for the 3rd time on my 2004 Saturn Vue with 66k miles on it. The VTI transmission on car is under full warranty but they refuse to honor it. Saturn has told me they will only pay 75% of the costs. They want me to pay the remaining costs which in more than 1200.00 .. Not only is just wrong but I do not have that kind of money to pay for this. Nor should I have to.. The transmission has gone out before and they should have replaced it then but didn't and said I shouldn?t worry because it is covered up to 75k miles. I have had many many other problems with the car also about every few months.

Love this car

This is the first saturn I bought the only down fall is it was used when I bought it so as always things seem to go wrong after the 3 moth warrantee. It is the perfect size car for hauling and enough room for everyone. I really wish I had bought new so the warrantee covered the control arm and other minor defects. Other then that it is really reliable and great for the price..

55,000 Miles and Good To Go

No car gets 5 stars. Bought Vue V6 Auto new in 2004. 4 years later, no maintenance issues except for 2 recalls - strut tower and gas cap. Driven in town, through ice and snow, long road trips, hauled boxing and baseball gear in the back, stuffed it with a large armoire, a huge television, and fit my pitching cage in with no problem. Average 22 MPG combined city and highway. I have nothing special on the car and that said, the stereo is average. Everything else works as I expect it. The tires are 17" and that means a specialty size and specialty price - about $500-$600 for new replacements. Starts and runs great with lots of power and good stability. AWD is fantastic in snow. Just a solid vehicle for the time I have owned it. Warranty even covers lockout protection, something I have had the occasion to use. May go to something with better MPG and smaller in the next few weeks, but would not steer you away from getting this year and model as a used car.

Excellent gas mileage, very reliable and comfortab

I have owned this car for 4 years, it has a great honda engine - the same one they put in the Acura. The gas mileage and comfort options can't be beat. City miles = 19.5 winter and 22.5 summer. Highway is even better!

I wouldn't drive anything else

We bought the 2004 Saturn Vue after the birth of our first child on the recommendation of friends regarding safety and comfort. I love our Saturn Vue. It handles well. The inside is comfortable and convenient. The Latch system for our daughter's carseat is wonderful. The one complaint I have is the pictures on the control buttons on the dashboard and on the remote for the DVD system are not intuitive. I have most of the dashboard buttons figured out, but that remote is one of the most confusing things I have ever seen. Setting the clock shouldn't require an instruction book! Other than the buttons, I do love our Vue. I get no less than 25 mpg in town, and at least 30 on the open road. Saturn service is also second to none. When we need a new or another vehicle it will be a Saturn Vue ... the next one will be the hybrid to save even more on fuel costs.

Styrofoam Box on Wheels

In 2004 we purchased a new Saturn Vue, V-6, with leather seats. It seemed like a nice car at first, but then the cheap plastic interior began to rattle and squeak. It felt like we were riding in a big styrofoam box! The "leather" was also very low-grade. The nicest thing about this car, which we traded off, was the Honda V-6 engine. It had a lot of power and was very reliable.
