Great car for its cost

It is amazing to have an SUV that gets better EPA than my Ford Focus. I bought my Vue with 17,000 miles on it for $12,000. It is fully loaded with a 4-cylinder, manual transmission. I could not ask for more.

So far, so good!

I now have almost 90,000 miles on this vehicle and have only had to do oil changes and replace one set of tires! Average of 27 to 31 mpg! The only thing I didn't like about it after I bought it was fixed by a recall on the rear suspension. It was too mushy. It now has a respectable ride thanks to the recall solution. This is my third Saturn in 15 years. Return on investment for this vehicle which is a 4 cylinder standard shift, with 2.2L engine has been excellent value. I just wish they would improve the seat comfort. But, my body adjusted to it.

Practical Grocery-Getter

The Saturn VUE gets the job done. There's nothing fancy about this car (or most Saturns, for that matter) but it is very reliable and practical. I love the handling of my AWD VUE and since it's so light (body is fiberglass) the 256 horsepower can really kick. For the same reason the gas mileage is fantastic. Front/side visibility can be a problem, so pay attention to that when taking turns on a test drive. Also, turning radius is terrible, worse than full-size SUVs and trucks! The interior is pretty bare bones (mine is one step below fully-loaded "Red Line") and the features is does boast are cheap-feeling. This car fulfills its job requirements but is in no way an "overachiever."

2004 saturn vue

I really love my saturn vue. The steering is tight, shifting is easy, and controls are within reach. For the price, it is nicely equipped. I like how it was rated for crash test safety.

04 Vue 6 cyl. AWD

Despite what Consumer Reports says, this vehicle is roomy, comfortable and has been quite reliable. It's been a perfect fit for our family of three, with more than enough room for vacations. The Honda powertrain is a big plus.
