I love this car. It has amazing fuel economy - Since I've bought this car, I've cut my fuel costs in half! I have to haul boxes and band equipment for my job, and this is perfect for those tasks, as this car, while looking small from the outside has been designed to optimize cargo room. I can fit 2 full size guitar speaker cabinets, two amplifier heads, 3 guitars, a keyboard, and the stands, and there's still room for more. I love this car, I can't praise the vehicle enough. Also, I think the older xb body style is more pleasing than the newer models. You also can find very affordable items to customize your xb, making the look of your car completely up to the owner, which for some is great.

My wife and I both have a 2005 xB and I can't imagine a better urban vehicle. An occasional long road trip is fine too. We both have hobbies which require the ability to haul lots of large items. For carrying passingers, the back seat is like a Lincoln Town Car. The above review applies ONLY to the 2004 & 2005 xB's. NOT the later models.

I didn't think 2005 XB came in black. First I've heard of it. I love my Limited Edition yellow scion xb. I've had it called the toaster, school bus, taxi. It is cute to me - although some people think it is ugly - until they sit in it and see all the room! Great car!!!!

I have had my XB for 3 months now and still love it. It gets 30 mpg in town and 33 on the highway. It is a great car for in town driving and daily commutes. I have not had it through winter months so can't say how it will handle the midwest weather. I really like the stereo system and interior. It has enough space for groceries and if you buy something bulky you can lay the seats down for transport. It does have a small engine, but the it has enough to jump out into traffic when needed. I own a manual transmission and it is fun car to drive. You aren't buying a race car though, don't expect too much performance. I would probably not enjoy long highway trips in this car, but have not taken it on one yet, so I can't say. It is my only car and I am pleased with my purchase. I would buy again with no regrets.

My little Scion is fun to drive and great to own. It has a lot more room than you might expect, and gets fabulous gas mileage, way better than what they say. I get 30 around town, better on the highway. I have 68,000 miles and just replaced the battery. I still have the original brakes, etc. I have done nothing more than regular maintenance and replaced tires. It is a little hard on tires. I like the minimalist dash, a better sound system would be nice, because it is a tad noisy. You really won't find a better car for the money, and it is adorable!

This car is so comfortable. You have as much space on the back as you do on the front. I use this car not only to transport people, but tools. I am a carpenter and I use this all the time. I also use it to transport instruments. I play in a band. the controls to push the back seat to the front are so easy to use, and when you are done you have so much space to transport things. This is the best car I had. Don't get fooled by the 108 hp. this car Picks up speed really fast

Bought Scion Xb in summer of 2005 and have driven 15000 miles. The car is an excellent handling machine especially in the city. It has no peer for headroom or visibility. This is especially nice since I am very long in the torso. I used to have to drive laying down and it is a joy to drive bolt upright like in a van. I consider the Xb to be the first micro van. It has a very comfortable and spacious back seat so comfortable and easy entry they are using the Solar Yellow Xb's as cabs. The rear cargo space might appear to be limited when you first look at it but it is truly wonderful. Backpacks and wheeled suitcases stand up nicely and the rear hatch has been very cooperative. Unlike minivan the cargo is small an upright enough not to fly around. The speedometer took a little while to get used to but not I wish my other vehicle had it in the middle. It is less distracting at night. The seats are better than I would expect at this price range but have gotten tiring on a long trip. Toyota has worked hard to make the Xb stable but it would not be my first choice in a windstorm even with traction control and standard ABS. Turns are not bad and since I often go from one Interstate to another a sllight reduction in speed is all that is needed. It does not have great pickup but it is acceptable and more lively than one might expect from a 108 hp engine. While mine is Dark Cherry any Xb turns heads and can cause discussions at the gas pump. It is easy on gas but 29mph is more normal than 31mph. Fringe benefit for summer the large windows simulate a convertable. Yes it has flaws. Ready 1) Scion has yet to figure wipers for the upright windows and bugs are particularly fond othe windshield. 2) The stereo is too good and can be distracting when my son is in control of the radio. 3) It handles so well my wife complains about how the Van handles. So I end up with the Possum Van. Kudos to Honda for the Element it made it a hard choice.

We bought a used 2005 Xb with low miles recently. It is a great vehicle for around town trips! I've been able to customize it at reasonable prices via online auction sites. The interior room is very good. The ride is pretty smooth, although you can tell it is a small car when you hit a bump. Acceleration and handling is about average. So far, we are very pleased with the car!

we are a family of 4, my wife and i have 11 and 14 year old boys. we looked for a car with great head and leg room for our growing family. after compairing dozens of suv's the xb had more leg room. the great gas mileage is also a plus. were getting 30-36 mpg. most the time when i fill up i get other drivers asking me about the xb. we have owned ours for 1 year and have put 39000 miles on it. so thats about $3000 in gas. thats about half what other suvs would cost.
