Most comfortable car I've owned.
My previous two cars were sedans: Mazda 2013-2019, Ford (2004-2013) and I was happy with both. My wife and I decided to purchase our first SUV and after looking at hundreds of reviews and test driving other SUVs in the same class we decided on the Forester Premium. Comfort and Interior Design were biggest on our priorities and the Forester comes up to the mark easily with these. OK, it may not be quite in the same league as the so-called luxury vehicles but it's not far off. I gave four stars for Exterior Styling because while the car is pleasing to the eye there are others around whose look I slightly prefer. Performance is fine for what we need but I didn't give it the full five stars because I know there are other SUVs around which would slightly outperform our Forester.

Fourth Forester the best one yet!
This is my fourth Forester premium and I say wow! How can they keep getting better, but they do. The great trade in value allows me to upgrade every few years and get all the improvements. This model has so many tweaks based on driver surveys and the new wheel base. Ride is solid, fun and the included amenities at the premium trim level are a fantastic value. Added option pkg 14 for rear cross traffic /lane change alert and keyless entry features. The color dash is very user friendly and programming is easy. Lots of tech that all seems to work including the phone integration for navigation. Great cabin space, I'm six foot and the seat still has room to go back. Head room and door openings make for easy entry/exit. Rides like a car, but has the room of a compact SUV for all my stuff. The eyesight system delivers and all the safety stuff prompted my insurance to go down $12.00. Styling and fit is superb. They even added rear heater/ac vent. Take one for a test drive and you will be impressed.

Fantastic Vehicle
This car is fantastic! I only purchased mine a little while ago but it has proven to be a very reliable, safe, and fun car to drive already. It is a huge upgrade from the 15 year old sedan I had before and has so many safety and audio features it will take me a while to get used to. I hope to have this car for years to come and has been great so far!

Best in Class
I purchased a 2020 Forrester Sport to replace my 1997 panther finder. I chose the sport edition since it was middle of the model lineup, and offered handy features ( fog lights, x-mode for different driving conditions, etc) while not going overboard with luxury pricing and “luxury” add-ons. First, prior to any purchasing I used consumer reports which ranked the 2020 as the number one mid-sized/crossover suv. Ideally I had been looking at the RAV 4 and possibly even a replacement pathfinder, but neither one ranked as high as the Forrester. Second, a fair majority of the reviews seems to address “power issues.” Honestly this vehicle is a 4 cylinder box (pistons sit horizontal vs traditionally vertical) so while it provides excellent mileage (490miles to a 16gal tank for city driving) it certainly is no Ferrari. It has 2 modes for acceleration that you can switch between that provide optimal mpg which is also nice. I guess those that have “power issues” want the power of a sports car packed into a fuel efficient suv, oh well maybe next year. Third, I gave interior and exterior design 4 stars. The engine compartment and hood seem a bit “bulky,” perhaps because I drive a smaller engine compartment, but overall it’s nice. Interior design meets comfort and safety must-haves but several small items(location of seat heaters, interior light controls, usb/aux ports) could have been better placed. Also rear storage space could have been more efficiently designed, it is fairly shallow compared to my deep pathfinder, but what it lacks horizontally is made up for in vertical height storage. Fourth, some of the reviews said that the “driver assistance” gadgets and software were “too high tech and complicated.” Granted I did not purchase the package with facial recognition, however the automatic braking functions as advertised and I have had no rouge issues with it so far. Additionally, it is nice to have auto-dimming mirrors since most vehicles these days have such bright lights. The one feature I’m still on the fence about is the auto-steer assist. Basically it pulls to the right and a bit to close to comfort with other vehicles in a lane next to me, but is helpful on extended highway driving and I need to reach to the back for something. Lane assist and blind spot technology are improved. They do shut off if the front windshield is fogged up, but overall with the quick defroster will automatically resume normal function once the sensors are cleared. Fifth, I have never purchased a vehicle new off the lot before either due to finances or other circumstances. Overall this vehicle seems like it is going to hold up over the next decade(132,000miles was the max service package I purchased) and be reliable with the regular maintenance. Sixth, while I have not used any of the off road features yet, as far as dirt roads with mud, sand, and snow, this vehicle seems high enough off the ground that it isn’t scraping curbs or speed bumps in the city, and can hold its own for country or rural light-off roading. I may add to this that this is no Jeep or pickup, so if your looking for a replacement or updated version of those look elsewhere. Overall, I am pleased with my purchase and have no regrets so far. Definitely would recommend this car to friends and family. No major issues, seems mechanically reliable and sound, and safe enough with the best mpg for any crossover/suv.

Nice SUV for mobility impaired wife
We traded 2 cars in for the Forester Sport because it is the perfect height to lean back into the seat. All others my wife had to raise/lower herself and when muscle mass is going away, it became a problem.

Can't comment to much, only had car one day!
I like the styling, and the fact it has all wheel drive. The "Eyesight" feature is a plus as well. Only had the vehicle for one day si it's hard to make anything but generalizations.
