Thank God Just Sold It!
We had a 2017 Off Road 4x4 we luckily just sold it. Boy did I want to like it but no way. The transmission on this truck is the worst- see all other reviews. Just got a letter from Toyota that the frames on these may rust out & need to be replaced... uh didn’t Toyota already have this problem several years ago & now it’s happening again?!? Yes mine was already showing rust. The drivers seat sits so far down it makes one feel like a midget. Not to mention the truck’s payload is squat (check it on the truck before you buy it!!) couldn’t even put a small topper on it without maxing it out. And good luck towing anything with the crappy transmission. Worst of all is the Boise dealership- any complaints & you’ll be met with that it is normal, nothing is wrong. That was the reply for everything even when I complained about the rust - then 3 months later I got the letter from Toyota about it. The lame Boise dealership will also totally lowball you if you try to sell it back to them. Was able to sell it for over $5000 more than their offer. Used to own a 1987 Toyota truck & would pay anything to get another truck like that. These Tacoma’s are way overpriced pieces of ****.

Great all-around truck
Perfect all-around vehicle from mountains to the city. I am impressed with the Tacoma's drivablility and performance both on and off the road. Very solid suspension and handling. Fits all four of our family members, though the back seat isn't any too large on long trips. Easy to maneuver and park around town and gets decent mileage. Very stable and predictable in the snow/ice. A bit small for any serious towing jobs, but gets the job done as you'd expect for a mid-sized truck. Perfect jack-of-all-trades for a busy, outdoor-oriented family (with a dog) that doesn't want a ginormous 3/4 ton beast to feed and navigate (and park).

Best Used vehicle deal I ever made
First off, this truck is a 6 cyl., automatic, 2 whl. drive w/ long bed. I bought it used, with 30,000 miles on it, had a good Car Fax and all the maintenance records from the previous owner. I've owned this truck for 2 years now. The truck has great exterior styling, is reliable, runs great and the gas mileage is between 18 and 25 mpg. city and highway combined. The acceleration could be better and the front seats could be improved for comfort, but you soon forget about all that, because the rest of what this truck is and can do will blow you away. I never had any problems with the transmission trying to find the right gear as I've read about with some Tacomas. I also read that the problem was a software glitch and has been corrected. In any case, I think it mainly affected the 4 cyl. models. All in all, I LOVE this truck and will definitely buy another if this one ever wears out, which, being a Toyota, is doubtful.

First Toyota truck
It did take some time to get used to a truck again. This one rides smooth and has the inside space that I like. As it’s a double cab, it does take length away from the bed of the truck. I wish they had a longer bed . It looks good and I feel it will still look good as styles are update in years to come.
