It's an okay car...
My father bought this car upon the release and he really put it to use. So when he gave it to me it had sighs of wear which was expected but then stuff started to go wrong. Recently my electrical system started acting up and now my sunroof opens on its own and one of my doors doesn't lock. Also the leather on the seats they use is not good quality and became dried out and cracked. Lastly being a german made car it's very expensive to fix. Overall I would say stick to American made sedans because they are cheaper to fix and more reliable

Lots of little problems
I loved my Passat, but I was plagued with small, annoying problems. The biggest problem with this car was the AC, it NEVER ran cold enough. This was a high end car with all of the bells and whistles, but there were problems with those bells and whistles. The car also developed a leak around the windshield which caused water to build up under the rug and padding.

Most stylish car with the best gas mileage
This car was very stylish. The only problem is that it costs an arm and a leg to get parts for it. And I had to replace parts on it at least once a year or every other year

Reliable
Not perfect by any means, finish wears off interior buttons and service can be a hassle with many places avoiding working on VW due to their own diagnostic system. Overall car is very comfortable and has been reliable. The fact that you can pick up a used one for the same price as other inferior cars make it a great buy.

Great car so far
I'm loving this car so far. Owned this car for a month now and I love it. I was hesitate about buying it at first because it's a used foreign car but I'm glad I did. The drive is great and it goes really fast.

Becoming a money pit!
After 6 years of reliability, many issues have been arising. At 85,000 miles the engine developed timing chain tensioner issues that ended up costing $1700. Now that that issue has been taken care of electrical issues have been popping up. Had to replace the fuse box that melted for another $900. By the way, my son had the same melting on his 2010 jetta. I am becoming very leary of the car and now realize that I will be steering clear of the VW brand.

AWESOME
I bought my 07 Passat with 110,000 miles on it. It saved my life. I totaled it on Black Friday of 2016. I loved and missed it. It had 144,000 miles on it NO PROBLEMS AT ALL!!! I'm on my second Passat it's an 06 with only 81,000 miles on it! AMAZING! I didn't want any other car. For living south of Buffalo NY in those cold snowy winters the V6 4motion is amazing!! I can't live without my VW!

Happy with my purchase
I purchased a 2006 Passat with 50,000 miles on it a few years ago. I am over 110,000 miles now and all I've ever had to do was change the oil and go. It's obviously not a luxury car, but the reliability makes up for it.

Problem after Problem after Problem
First of all, the car started to have problems at 31,000 miles. It's been non-stop ever since. In the divorce, I was given this stupid VW Passat and my ex-husband got to go out and buy a used nicer car. The timing chain just kicked it at 83,000 miles. My car is worthless and the dealership says that it is going to cost me $7,000 to get a new engine.
