I've owned my Tiguan for 8 months now. It's a SE with navigation and panoramic roof. I traded in my 2008 Passat wagon for this vehicle. I have been driving VW's since I was 16 yrs old (wow, that's 40 years!) so I may be biased. I love all the features of my Tiguan...it's really easy for me to get in and out of as I am a amputee. Actually that was the main reason I went from my Passat to a SUV. It was a transition going from from my cushy Passat wagon to the Tiguan. Now, I have to say the only thing I miss is the trunk space. I took off the cover for the trunk in my Tiguan and it's much better. I love the 2.0 turbo...love that I can shift the automatic because I miss my manual shift. I use the auto hold when I'm in traffic..great feature. Even though I am an amputee I have no problems driving my Tiguan without special controls. Awesome vehicle!

Reliable well built SUV with great gas mileage I really enjoy this driving machine. It is fun to drive and has many features that are technologically advanced for the money.

After 3 years of driving a Volvo I decided to go back to VW. The Tiguan has already exceeded my expectations after only a few weeks. I've driven sedans my whole live and had some apprehensions about moving to a SUV but the transitions has been easy and it is extremely fun to drive. The exterior is solid, has amazing turning radius and from what I can tell, very minimal blind spots. I don't have any issue fitting into tight parking spaces... the Tiguan is actually the same width as my last sedan which really surprised me. Hands down the best feature is the panoramic sunroof... my friends and family are all in awe even from the backseat! The interior has everything you could possibly want in terms of gadgets and having stereo/phone/nav controlled through the steering wheel makes it easier to keep your eyes on the road. The front seats are very roomy, not quite as plush as some of the luxury models but I drive 100+ miles/day and think they're still comfortable at mile 100. I wish the SE model came with full power seats but the hand lever is easy to maneuver. I have very tall passengers most of the time (over 6'2") and for once they can comfortably sit in the back without me having to move the driver seat to the dash! Going from a 6 to 4 cylinder is taking a little adjustment, but the Tiguan definitely has pick-up on the highway. I'm finding the breaks to be a lot more sensitive than previous VW models where you really had to push the pedal to stop quickly. I feel incredibly safe in the vehicle and feel well protected behind the heavy doors. Overall I think the car was worth the slightly higher price tag and couldn't be happier with my choice in the Tiguan. All I can say is it is good to be back to VW.

I bought a 2011 Tiguan S 4 motion as a certified used vehicle in Feb 2013. The first day I had the car I noticed that the bulb burned out indicator was lit. Since I had just bought it the day before I took it to the dealer. It turns out that the fuse panel had a slot that was melted due to a bad contact. Took 3 days to get the part and it was fixed; however, now I am getting an intermittent bulb out indicator when the temperature warms up and it is sunny out. The only other electrical complaint is that the blue tooth interface is slow and buggy. The cargo space is limited; however, the rear seats move forward to expand this. The automatic transmission shifting program takes some getting used to. The car is sometimes in too high of a gear when going 25-35 MPH. Giving the accelerator a gentle tap will cause it to downshift and alleviate the problem. Having said that, the car looks awesome, has a very solid build quality, and is a joy to drive. The turbo gives it great acceleration. It is extremely comfortable. I bought the car because of the good experience we had with my wife's 2007 Jetta. While still clearly superior to Japanese or American build quality and styling, VW quality and reliability has been going down slightly since 2007. Overall, I recommend the car. The styling and joy of driving it make up for the electrical issues.

I got the VW Tiguan SEL and i love it. It might be pricey but you get what you pay for. The TSi 2.0 turbo engine is proven and it is the best powerplant that wolfsburg ever made. As far as gas milage people dont buy suv and look how much it burns. if you want a good MPG vechicle buy yourself a prius or whatever its called. I give this car a 5 plus.

I bought a 2009 BMW X3 and was very disappointed with all the trips to the dealer to fix problem after problem with the car. Drove a VW Tiguan that my friend had purchased and I was sold! The Tiguan is a solid, crisp handling small SUV with great acceleration and features. I bought the 2011 SE model with six speed automatic and the family loves this car!

Comfortable, fun to drive, great handling and with the turbo no lack of power. Great interior finishes and plenty of room even for tall people in the back seat. I'm a happy guy with my Tiguan!!!

Love the styling and all the options. The panoramic sun roof is great and i love the Nav system, touch screen radio and heated seats. They are great on those chilly mornings. The fuel mileage is good for an Suv if you drive it sensibly yet it has impressive power on the highway with the six speed automatic and 2.0 turbo. Take one for a test drive and be as impressed as i am.

I leased my Tiguan a few months ago, and I really enjoy it. The build quality is excellent, the features are impressive and I love the style. Best features, being able to open the panoramic sunroof and close the sunscreen, open air, but no blinding sun. I also like that I can fold the front seat flat, so I can haul around long items. Purchased the car for work, and it's meeting my expectations. I wish for a manual transmission with all the bells and whistles, or even the DSG transmission. Also wish for a TDI engine, but not until the next model cycle. All in all, I'm very pleased!

I've had the 2011 model for one month and I love it. The ride is very comfortable, but handling is still sporty. The 6 spd automatic transmission is very smooth. I have been averaging 26mpg in combined highway/city driving. The turbo charged engine is what separates this car from similar vehicles. There is some wind noise at highway speeds, but other than that I have no negatives for this car.
