Pre-Owned Buyer BEWARE!!!
April 14, 2018
For starters I purchased a preowned vehicle from this dealership. I was told that my vehicle had been fully detailed and washed and it was ready to go when I completed my purchase. Although I completed the purchase at night I could see that the vehicle had not been detailed. I brought it back the next day and was assured it would be done correctly. Of course the outside was clean but the inside, yet again, had not been detailed. I didn't have time to wait so I returned yet again to have the detail done. After being told that management was going to inspect the vehicle upon completion, it was done correctly. Lastly, and more importantly, I wanted to cancel GAP and my extended warranty so I proceeded to do so on the day my car was being "detailed". Surprisingly, I was told that Curtis, the finance manager, said that I needed an appointment and the paperwork that I had provided was not official documentation for cancellation. After refusing to leave, Alex (asst. mgr.) and I spoke and he assured me he would take care of everything. Well, he didn't. After waiting 3 days and not hearing from him I contacted the finance department. The gentleman who I spoke with assured me that he would have someone email me the correct form. Thanks to him the GAP Cancellation form was emailed. However, no one at the dealership took any action to cancel or contact me regarding cancellation of the extended warranty (the more expensive of the 2). I proceeded to contact the companies who owned these policies. After explaining to them what occurred both policies were canceled. I dropped by the dealership to redo the paperwork so that it would reflect the newly financed amount but I was told I didn't need to do that and there was no additional paperwork that I needed to sign. I obliged. As I was leaving, the finance guy calls me and asks that I come back to the office to sign off on cancellation forms for the policies. I stated that the policies had already been canceled so I didn't understand why they needed me to sign paperwork after the fact. He stated that it was needed for their records. Ok, so, when I went in initially to cancel the policies I was told that I needed an appointment. Now all off a sudden after the policy has been canceled you mysteriously produce paperwork immediately that you say I need to sign so that you "can have a copy for your records", AND you put the date that I was there as the cancellation date, to which I struck through and made the correction. Why all of the lies and willful attempts to prevent me from canceling these policies?? AUDI's finance manager and department staff need additional training before dealing with consumers. You don't play with people's money. If they have a question or a request you address it. If you don't know the answer, don't provide information that you don't know to be true. Instead assure the customer that you'll try to find the answer and you will get back to them. ALWAYS follow through. Otherwise, your business appears non transparent and dishonest. Customer service is best when it is honest and true. Definitely would not recommend this dealership to family or friends.
