Best buying experience start to finish! How it should be!

We had been looking for a used 2018 Audi Q5 for some time and had run into too many poorly run dealerships that simply did not listen to what we wanted in our area. Once we expanded our search, we found Marcos Morales at Walter's Audi in Riverside who went SO FAR BEYOND what any salesperson has done in the past. He was AMAZING start to finish and truly understands that this is a SERVICE oriented business and you have to LISTEN to what the customer wants, not TELL them. He did a personalized video of the vehicle we were interested in. He answered EVERY question we had in a quick and courteous fashion. He was professional and LISTENED (note to other dealerships we did NOT buy from: YOU listen to US, not the other way around!) to our needs, and we drove over 350 miles to get this car, bypassing a lot of dealerships along the way! Just a great experience buying a car from Walter's Audi and Marcos Morales.
I bought my 2017 A3 from another local dealer, and found their service department to be a little frustrating to contend with, so I brought the car to Audi of Ontario. Right from the start, I found this dealership very easy to work with. Erik Garcia is my service advisor, and he is probably the best advisor I've had across several brands. He listens to what I tell him, he relates to the issue and how it impacts his customer, and he makes sure to follow up in a very timely manner. I have a solid understanding of the mechanics of a car, and Erik understood that he had to relate to me differently than some other customers. He has conversations with me that are not so elementary that they don't tell me anything, and not so advanced for me to not understand. He put the effort in to pay attention to my level of knowledge so that it didn't become frustrating to me. Shortly after one visit, I received an email that the dealership was interested in buying my car. I was surprised as it was a lease, and I was only 14 months in. I met with Raymundo Lopez who was absolutely terrific to work with. He explained the process he wanted to follow to me, which put me at great ease. I generally do not like the schmoozy sales experience, but there was none of that. He was up front, honest, and timely. I took this opportunity to upgrade, and Raymundo was extremely patient as I looked at many different situations that would work for me. We looked at everything from another A3 to an A5, to a TT. In the end, I walked away with a fully decked out A4 Quattro that I absolutely LOVE!!! It cost a little more than I planned, but I'm good with it. And when you think about it, isn't that the true sales success story? Customer is happy and gets something they love, the dealer sold something of higher value. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with Erik and with Raymundo. The terrific experience in the service department lead to a really great (and unexpected) sales experience. I would highly recommend Erik Garcia for all of your service needs, and Raymundo Lopez for all of your sales needs!! A quick follow-up.....I have personalized plates, and had to go through the arduous DMV process of waiting for the new registration to get processed, then transfer the vanity plates over. The DMV has a new process regarding this, requiring permission from the leasing company to do this. I called Raymundo, and he started making calls to find out what to do. This happened several weeks after the sale, which further exemplified his professionalism. He did not push me off because the sales was done, he went all out. THAT is the great experience you can expect from Raymundo!! I will add that the billing guy was the only shortcoming through all of this. Not "bad" per se, just not great. His personality was lackluster, and when he tried to push the extra warranty on me, and I refused, he tried an angle I did NOT like at all.....he used the line "well, if you think you want to take a risk like that, it's your choice". I don't do passive-aggressive, and was not happy about that AT ALL. But.....in the end, I have a great car that I love, and overall, a terrific experience that I tell everyone I can about. It is my feeling that since he is responsible for processing all of the paperwork, including the registration, he should have known about this vanity plate requirement, and explained it to me. That way, I wouldn't have had the added stress of finding out about it, and dealing with it while at the DMV. That, I believe, is a major fail on his part. I would recommend both of these gentlemen to care for your Audi needs. They are the best, and I will definitely be back :)
