My last car loan was in 2004 and I wasn't looking forward to the typical dealership experience. I had heard of good experiences at Gloucester Toyota and about the people there. Search after search I kept on coming back to a Camry at Gloucester Toyota. I called and met with Tommy. Great guy!!! He thoroughly went over all the options and proceeded, after I said "I'll take it", to enter my home in the navigation system, connect and sync my phone, and answer all questions I had...even the few times I realized he had already given me that answer but Tommy always answered as though it was the first time he gave that answer. Tommy throughout the entire experience was more like a friend helping you than a salesman. This was Saturday and he texted me so I would have his cell number...just in case... Well, just in case came on Monday when I left work to go pay... I didn't see a piece of aluminum and my 2 day old car had received a flat tire...yea me... I was 5 min. from the house, so I texted Tommy letting him know I would be late as I needed to change the tire and he immediately responded telling me as soon as I would arrive he would get the tire in the shop and have the car detailed while I waited. Again, more like a friend than a salesman, he walked me through the entire process after meeting me in the parking lot when I arrived. Literally, when I turned around after getting out of the car, Tommy was 20 ft away getting things started. Here's the BIGGEST BONUS...since I got there late, by the time the car was done being detailed, the shop guys had gone home. Any other dealership, I would have had to go home and change the tire myself. NOT while Tommy was there, he drove my car into the shop and changed the tire for me. WOW!!! I was hoping to find a dealership that I and my family could continue with and I did. After Tommy was done, he came and took me out to a nicely detailed vehicle. He opened the trunk, doors, and hood. He asked if everything was okay and apologized it took some time. To explain, I took the vehicle home on Saturday not too long after the vehicle landed on the lot so they had not had time to do a thorough detailing job so Tommy promised when we next saw each other he'd make sure it would happen. Again, any other dealership, that's what they would say and then it's, "we never said that"... You know those Toyota commercials where people were jumping beside their vehicles, in my picture, I had just landed... :) I know this is getting long but I also wanted to give a big kudos to their service guys. That tire incident wasn't a simple round puncture...one that may have necessitated a new tire...ugh... Broken record but any other dealership, "hey, sorry, couldn't fix it so we need to put on a new tire"...not here, they gave it an honest attempt and it was fixed with a simple patch...phew... I wish I could remember the name of the guy in service but they were respectful, polite, and appeared genuinely happy. Every person in the waiting room was treated like Gold. Let me not forget the lady you paid, so nice and had a great personality. From the test drive to the end of this experience Gloucester Toyota's people have made me a walking billboard. You know how dealerships always put their stickers on the trunk? It's something I don't like...well, this time it's different, I'm proud to let everyone know where my Toyota came from.
