Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!

My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder
This car is exactly what I wanted it to be

I owned a 2007 BMW 328i 4-door for almost 5 years. That car was very comfortable and I would even say that it was fun to drive. As time went on, I found myself wanting more than the ~220ish horse power that the N52 engine had to offer. I also wanted something with steering that felt more connected to the road. I also began to notice that the 6-speed auto transmission was a bit clunky in the tip-tronic mode. I also realized I didn't need 4-doors... So I began the search for a car like the 328i, but with more power, tighter handling, and a better auto transmission, but with all the interior refinements that I had come to love about my 328i. The 135i fit the bill. The E85 135i with the N55 engine and 7-speed Dual-Clutch Transmission filled in the gaps I had noticed in my 328i. 300 horsepower is a lot of fun to drive, and you can actually use all 300 horses on a regular basis without getting killed. The M-sport package handling is a huge improvement over the 328i. I feel very connected to the road, and I can confidently toss the car around when I need/want to. The Dual-clutch transmission is amazing. The shifts are only noticeable through the sound of the M-sport exhaust: There is uninterrupted power to the wheels and you just hear this beautiful sound with each upshift. I love that all the interior things I loved about my E90 328i are still present and in the same place in the E82 135i. I did not have to compromise on any of the interior options. The iDrive seems lightyears ahead of the 2007 version. The headlights are beautiful, even if they do cost $1300 each. My only concern is the harshness of the ride, but that is par for the course with a sports coupe I suppose. I hypothesize that putting non-run flat tires on the car will improve the comfort of the ride, as it feels like these run flats are made of wood.

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

FUN car. Peppy. Great handling! Easy to scoot around town in. I have the IS model it’s a blast. Of course, the down side is BMW no longer supports the electronics in the car but, Small sacrifice.

When we ditched our minivan, we researched hard and long and chose this car. We wanted a convertible with back seats. We also wanted horsepower! And an automanual. This car did not disappoint. Everyone admires it. You zip around like a maniac if you want. No problems at all over 3 years so far. Super tight. Even the big kids make the backseat work and love afternoons on the road.

I don't normally take the time to fill out reviews but I really felt I should since I am so happy with my 2009 Saab 9-3 2.0T I bought from Peter. I looked around on Cars.com and found that Dan Martin's Auto Depot had much better prices and much nicer used vehicles and a better selection. Thanks again Peter!!

Wanted a second vehicle to save on lease miles. A summer/spring convertilble was a logical choice. Bought this BMW 135 with 26,000 miles. It is fun, sporty, handles well. A little slow exceleration out of the gate, but climbs to a good cruising speed relatively quickly. Really fun to drive. Good basic options and sylish interior. Love it!

These cars are like hidden secrets. The way they depreciate from new is high even by BMW standards so they make great used cars. 300 HP/300 Torque, check, with lower miles the costs aren't too high either so it's a win win.

I bought a 2011 Mercedes R350 from Bemer Motors. I love this car!!! I test drove one day and came back next day to buy. When I got in to leave I noticed they replaced the cracked windshield, I didn't even have to ask them to! I also get free oil changes for the life of my vehicle! What a deal! Oil changes on a Mercedes are usually $100 plus. This business has been around since the early 80's. They aren't going anywhere. Also, most the people that work there are family, and when you are there you feel like you are part of this wonderful family! The owner greeted my family at the door, gave my kiddos blowpops, showed my youngest son one of the coolest little 1960's BMW's and even let him sit inside for a picture. My 9 month old baby was also so taken with him. She would smile at him non stop and he was so sweet to her. You don't get this kind of attention at a huge car lot. To them you mean money and that is all. At Bemer Motors they treat you like you are part of the family. I asked all kinds of questions and learned so much about the business, how they operate. I learned about each family member that works there and what they do too. This family is superb! Wish I was part of it😉. All of there vehicles were beautiful inside and out. They are all purchased from large local dealerships too. Not some online auction. Also, since they have a service department they go over EVERYTHING! Plus you get a free 6 month or 6,000 mile warranty on your car. They are that confident in their inventory and what they sell! They truly care about their customers. Finance was super fast and easy too and my credit is sub par. I promise you, this place is an oasis in a desert of note lots and big chain dealerships. Talk about finding a diamond in the rough! They know their inventory and are 100% professional and courteous. I promise, I will be a customer for life!
Breath-taking drive, fast, hangs in every curve

This car is incredible for a convertible. Like any BMW the drive is worth the money. This car is built for speed and hangs in curves like a dream. The exterior has great lines, looks sharp, and draws looks for sure. The interior is perfect if you are smaller. While it is a four seater it isn't really for adults in the back. though it does cradle you.

N54 gen has been growing in community recently. If you hestitate of getting one i'd say dont be!! Go buy it. You wont be disappointed coz the facts that bmw community is so large, price isnt sky high, it has lots of tuning potential, great inexpensive aftermarket supports, and much more!! Winters WILL NOT stop you either with the right tires. Personally i'd say Nokian which im currently using is a perfect candidates. What more could you asked for such a car under 20k range? Now go have a blast with it!!!

I like it a lot. Communicative steering, great brakes and acceleration. Back seat is small and the car is a bit noisy. Overall a great little sports coupe.

Most planted car I've owned

Purchased this as my second car, was looking at sport coupes and tested a 335i as well as some Mercedes. The 335i felt slow and unresponsive with the 6 speed automatic gearbox. The 135i with the 7speed DCT was perfect for what I was looking for. The responsiveness of the engine was great. The handing is tight and the steering is heavy. The ride is a bit stiff especially with the factory runflat tires, however when I switched to non-runflats the ride quality improved drastically.

Dealer Review

Luxury Sports Car?

I've had a sports car (Audi TT Quattro) and I've had a luxury car (Lexus). The BMW 135i is like both cars in one. I can push the 'sport' button and the whole car changes. Push the button again and the car turns back into a luxurious ride. Best of both worlds. I have not had it long enough to evaluate gas mileage.

Power, Comfort, Excitement!!! And yes, FUN!!!!

After owning 7 BMW's, I thought I wanted a Z4. Drove it, not for me. Then I found an '08 135i Convertible with 47K miles. Pristine, 1 owner, garage kept with all the records. How lucky can a BMW Guy get. This was the best kept secret in the line-up. Why(?), who knows. Power, Comfort, Excitement. It's got it all. They're getting hard to find as I searched the nation, but was lucky enough to find one in my backyard. Give it a drive, you'll be amazed. Then you'll want the "1".

M-135i PARALLEL TWIN-TURBO; N54 3 SERIES ENGINE
by Xavier from Washington, DC
December 4, 2017

This car was only built for one year (2009). Limited Edition Parallel-Twin-Turbo (332HP with 422 Ft/Lb torque) The M-135 in 09 is a Parallel Twin Turbo which is a 135 with Factory installed M performance. It was just a one year production with 3 series N54 engine/Parallel Twin-Turbo makes this a collector's car. M modified suspension; M brakes, M trim, M Rims; M interior etc. This was only produced for one year and makes this a collector's car now. M-135i Convertible Limited Edition has two separate turbo chargers making it a "True Twin-Turbo." All years after this the turbo chargers were a stacked single Turbo, not a "Parallel TWIN TURBO." As a result the car has a full 332HP with a weight to Horse-power / torque ratio higher than the 2009 3 series vehicles because the car is much lighter than the three series engine and with Parallel Twin Turbos. The following year BMW no longer produced this car and changed the engine and the turbo to scale the HP back bringing it below the 3 series. The ones following the late 09 did not have two actual separate turbos like this one does, but rather a stacked single turbo which they referred to as "To-in-one," rather than a Parallel Twin-Turbo. The turbo chargers in the 09 M135i are not sequential or in series, but rather are in parallel so it's two equally sized turbos making the HP and torque much higher. BMW data sheets in 09 intentionally misrepresented the data specifications of several cars. The provided information has been tested and verified by BMW authorized modification companies, BMW dealer mechanics, and by BMW itself. BMW intentionally misrepresented the data on their 2009 specification sheets in order to not negatively impact sales of the three series vehicles. The engine was used in the 135 because when the one series was originally produced it did not have a specific engine for that car in 2009 and as a result, the three series engine was used in the one series vehicle for that year only. The horsepower and torque on this car were tested and verified as 332HP with 422 Lb of torque. One independent modification company did an Independent Verification and validation test and in their test it put out 335HP. All the M badging other than the grill are from the factory and the car was in fact only produced for one year in this configuration with that engine and the parallel turbo. All other years have 300HP and this vehicle has 332HP, tested and verified by more than one company. In fact all the information provided above was information given to me by an authorized BMW modification company in California and another in Virginia, verified by a local BMW dealer and by a local BMW authorized mechanic who also professionally modifies BMW vehicles for track racing.
