Fun Drive but High Maintenance

Great car to drive. Very solid feel, but requiring lot of maintenance to keep running well. Cosmetic pieces (cloth, plastic, rubber seals) less durable than many less expensive cars.

1994 bmw 318 ic - Convertible

I bought this car with 113,000 miles on it, and it now has 250,000 miles on it, and it still runs strong (for a small four cylinder) and doesn't smoke. At 170,000 I had to put in a clutch and replaced the Rear Main seal on the engine at that time, as well as the front and rear seals on the transmission. I honestly didn't believe that this little 4 cylinder would last this long, or any of the rest of the car for that matter. The manual transmission is quiet, as well as the differential, and the power steering is smooth and leak free. At 120,000, I did flush the power steering unit and replace with Amsoil, as well as the rest of the car, and it just keeps on going, first turn of the key every time. At 225,000 I had new Goodyear Assurance Comfort tires installed and the wheel alignment specs reworked so that there is no crazy tire wear as with the factory specs, and after 10,000 miles, they look like new. When Goodyear aligned all four wheels, they said the suspension components are still within specs and like new, with the exception of two front struts that are leaking oil. The best mileage recored was 44 MPG on a straight long trip, and it usually scores between 37 and 41 on any highway trip. The actual gas mileage is far better than what the EPA said it would be! It is a great, durable car that is easy to work on and is very economical! The trick with buying a BMW is to get one that hasn't had the life driven out of it by some master speed demon. Mine was owned by a woman, and she drove it very conservatively and thus why it still piles on the miles dependably. I hear some knuckleheads in BMW forums say "these cars need to be driven hard" and I ask why? These cars do not build muscle when ran hard, they simply wear faster. Think about it.

Better than other dealers!

I "was" going to lease from a southside dealer but thought I should see what else is out there. The Salesman and Sales Manager I dealt with put in overtime to get me to be an Andy Mohr customer. I worked them over trying on just about every new truck like a pair of shoes! Finally found what I liked, then we all worked on pricing. They found me every discount they could and got me alot of truck for a great lease term. I can't wait for the next one!

2nd one I've owned and love these things!!!!

Love them. My speed days are long behind me so I was going for gph, good looks and reliability. The 318i fits those requirements to a "T". I am the second owner of this particular car and the first guy was over the top with regards to open check book ownership. Documentation back to his initial leasing and then purchase. I, being the benefactor of this philosophy, could not have found a better example of a 97 318i and couldn't love this car any more than I do. I throw a pair of 19" wheels on it every once in awhile to change the look and the reactions from those who see it is amazing. People love the style of these vehicles and if you can find one that was taken care I suggest you think long and hard before passing it up. 318's are fast becoming a rarity and well kept ones even more so.

Best Car Ever. I've had mine for 16 years, with only expected maintenance and problems. Of course, parts and maintenance can get pricey once it does need it. So worth it. Reliable, comfortable, and drives oh so nicely.

Fantastic BMW Purchase Experience!

I live in California and made my BMW M3 purchase from the Enthusiast Auto Group over the Internet. As you can imagine, buying a vehicle online can be a daunting experience, however Evan, of EGA, assisted me through the entire process. The purchase went very smooth and I am expecting delivery here shortly. I would HIGHLY recommend EAG for your next BMW purchase – they know what they are talking about, are willing to go the extra mile to help, and I feel they will be a partner for life, even after I have already owned my vehicle and should I have any questions/concerns in the future. I would give them a higher rating that 5-stars, if I could!

Not super fast...but hyper nimble
by The Hawk from Alliston, Ontario

Bought a used 1991 318is in 2004. Kept it off roads in winters and spent very little on it each season. After 20 years, still has original windshield, p/s pump, water pump, alternator etc, so very reliable if you don't try to beat it up. New suspension, brakes, bushings and catalytic is all I've done. Fun high rev power and it loves the corners. Every year it looks more odd given what the new BMW's look like and how they're equipped, but it's vintage and it gets more comments. Great exhaust sound and usually 650k-700k per tank. If you can find a decent one...get it! The E30 gets more rare every day.

Great leg room space, very stable and hugs the road. Fast spacious n full of style. Very strong front end that last for years. Suspension is great that requires only a plate in the rear shocks.
