Awesome car. Simply the most car you can buy for the $$$. Only short coming would be for a person without home charging since DC charging is not the fastest on the Bolt. If you took a VW Golf GTI and mashed it with an old school quite, cushy Cadillac and made it cheap to own and run like say a Prius you would have the Bolt.

My salesman was very patient with me. I asked a ton of questions because there was so much about the vehicle that differed from my 2013 Suburban. I suppose, if I were not such a Luddite, I would have found many of these things obvious. As it was, we didn't explore the engine bay. My age and under-hood vehicle complexity have pretty much made my access here a waste of time. The salesman balanced the time spent on each element and provided me with a reasonably good understanding of each. However, I still spend time digging through the owner's manual, after the buy, trying to grasp the fine points of various elements.

This is my first venture into EV ownership and the Bolt has exceeded expectations. Please know that I am 6'-10" tall and weigh 335 lbs. Studying specifications, I noted the quite large legroom and headroom dimensions for this car and ventured to the dealership to see if this was the case. My salesman looked skeptical as I approached the vehicle, and was even more surprised than I was at how well I fit! The Premier trim level is pretty amazing from a technology perspective, but some features of the interior finish seem rather odd to me. The driving range that I am experiencing is better than the specifications and I cannot fault the performance. I am looking forward to a long-term relationship with this peppy little car!

I went in for an oil change and when I went back the bill was over $900. I would have appreciated a phone call letting me know what all they were doing and how much it was going to be.

The front seats are awful, I'll never understand why GM decided to save $20 in exchange for a terrible reputation. The headrests are bent forward so that slacker drivers who don't want to sit up and pay attention won't hurt their necks in an accident. The infotainment system was programmed by an imbecile who REALLY wants you to listen to the radio. POP-UP ADS ON RADIOS SHOULD BE OUTLAWED. The rear cargo area has no anchors or tie-down loops.. pretty absurd on a $30,000 car. Putting this grocery getter on a set of 17 inch rims was possibly the dumbest trendy thing ever, it rides like a 90s Honda Civic with the springs cut. Fortunately the majority of these things can be pretty easily fixed. Get a set of 15-in rims off of a Chevy Sonic and put 215/65r15s on it to massively improve the ride comfort, straighten the headrest legs with a vise or a sledgehammer, put some elastomeric cushions underneath the stock seat foam, get some round tie down anchors off Amazon, the round ones fit perfectly in the circular indentions in the rear cargo area and grab the spare donut out of a Buick Encore in the junkyard, it fits perfectly under the subfloor. I solved all these problems in a weekend once I gathered up the tools and parts. There's nothing special about the bolt, everything everyone likes about it applies to every electric vehicle but the bolt does have one big advantage over everything else, availability. It's more widely available than any other EV, especially one in this price range. I would definitely buy the car again, no regrets.

This is my first electric car. It accelerates like a rocket! Rides are bit pitchy, but the car is roomy and its performance makes up for everything. Love this car.

I just bought a Ford Maverick. Been a long process, but Jacob, Camren, and Oscar did a great job of making it happen. Been trying to buy a Maverick since March.

I love driving this car! It is fast and efficient. I love the one-pedal braking and seldom have to use the brake pedal. It also has a hand brake on the left side of the steering wheel that is a great accessory. The car looks small, but there is ample room for 4 adults. The storage in the back is limited, but plenty of space for our needs. We can also put two suitcases in that space. If it is just the two of us, we can drop the back seat and create more than enough space for all the luggage we would need on a long trip. The torque is outstanding and is great to have entering a freeway or passing another vehicle. The visibility around and behind the car is the best I think I've ever had in a car. No maintenance other than tire rotations and we have solar panels at our house, so I haven't paid for gasoline (or electricity) in over 3 years. The only negative is long distance driving and that will soon be solved when the Tesla Supercharging Station adapters will be available for GM cars in 2024. Did I say this was a great car? We love it.

Small but mighty. Best value EV for first and long term cost. Great acceleration and braking, especially when using Regen paddle. Nice GM incentive to pay for 220V garage charger as it is needed for overnight recharge. I bought the EV1 model since I didn't needed heated seats in Florida, but would have liked forward crash collision braking and side mirror lane changing warning. Overall, the Bolt EV is ideal for me.

The dealership has opened a net among its other dealers and has kept in contact with me. I'm optimistic about my difficult request being fulfilled. I decided it was time to "retire" our 2006 BMW M3 convertible as a second car and just keep it garaged until the sun comes out and we want a top down drive through the mountains of southwest Virginia. But my wife was not excited at the prospect of a 3rd vehicle that has no place in our retirement budget. I have been looking at EVs or plug-in hybrids but all were too expensive as a third vehicle and I had almost resigned to wait to replace our Honda Accord in a couple more years with a plug-in hybrid as range issues still bothered me with EVs (except perhaps Tesla, but didn't want a Muskmobile). When I found a Bolt Lt1 at a dealer who was willing to sell below MSRP and give me the $7500 tax rebate up front, the decision became extraordinarily simple. A brand new, pretty good electric vehicle with full warranty and a 250+ mile range for under $20K. Amazing. Likes: cheap, reasonably comfortable, lots of room for a small car, handles reasonably well, steering is good, one pedal driving is fantastic, electric motor smoothness/quiet, no gas! Chevy pays for some or all installation of a level 2 charger plug. Dislikes: In my 1LT trim, no heated seats, rake of front windshield causes "A" pillar to be in the way when making left hand turns. Just purchased the Bolt so can't speak to reliability issues. This is a perfect 2nd car. Use it for all your normal short/medium trips (most of most peoples' driving lives) and use no gas. Keep your older, larger car for road trips or when you need to carry adult passengers in back. Buy one while you can!

Perfect commuter car for my 75 mile roundtrip commute. Never had any battery problem and the car is perfect so far with 62000 miles. Electric is the way to go for longish regular trips.

What a game changer! I get it now. EV is not for everyone but it is here to stay. I gave up a really nice VW for a Bolt EV. This car is a combination of all the cars I've owned. I have found nothing wrong with it. It actually gets MORE miles per charge than advertised. The front seats are a bit harder than I would have made them, however the back seat is super comfortable. My wife drives it and makes optimizing economy a game. She seems quite good at it, since our efficiency keeps climbing.

I went to the service area and Delon checked my tire pressure, added air, and calibrated it and the alert disappeared. 1 week later the same thing happened and this time Paul did the same thing. I have been driving my car over a week and the alert has not come back. Delon and Paul provided excellent customer service. They both went above and beyond to help me. Keep up the excellent work!

Owned from new to 66,000 miles and never had a problem whatsoever. Saved us over $5000 vs a typical gasoline car, plus all the maintenance that goes along with one. Quick, fits just about anywhere, and the cheapest EV one can buy with respectable range. Have owned 63 cars, and this one was the most reliable and cheapest to keep.

I've had my 2019 Bolt Premier for a month now and it's really a clever little vehicle. Nimble and fun to drive with lots of room (can fit two mt bikes in the back). Coming from a VW GTI I expected the Bolt to be a substantial step down, but it's not. Granted the GTI is leagues ahead in both interior and exterior build quality, but the Bolt is no slouch in terms of what a fun-sized EV hatch should be. With a low center of gravity, loads of "O" torque and a decent suspension, the Bolt doesn't embarrass itself while performing it's appointed tasks around town. Sure, the steering could benefit from taking a communications class and the brakes are less than linier but the single pedal driving dynamic is outstanding (I could seriously go on for a while regarding how intuitive the one pedal regen system is on the Bolt, kudos to GM for their work on this feature). The rest of the gripes about the Bolt (plastic interior, uncomfortable front seats, low res screens, odd styling) I think miss the mark regarding the sum of it's parts. At the end of the day, does the Bolt deliver a satisfying experience and leave you with a smile? Absolutely!
