DND Auto Group Review
It was kismet.

This was my first real time buying a car on my own. I'm a grad student so not only did I need something reliable, I needed to be able to afford it. I scoured the internet for trucks in my area (Binghamton, NY) - everything was over $10k and over 100k miles. Student loans are a black spot on anyone in my position, which makes it hard when looking for an honest, reasonable dealer with a good loan officer. I originally called about a car that was a little over 100K miles but under $5k. I got two calls the next morning from David. I called back and I was almost floored by his honesty. He said the car was making a "small sound" and he "wouldn't feel right" about selling it to me unless it was at a much lower price. He then recommended a truck that had only 66K miles for $5K with a perfect Carfax. I had no idea how it could be that low (compared to Binghamton prices) so I drove down to NJ for a test drive. Not only was it everything that I wanted, he held the truck while I got my own finances in order (for almost two weeks). There were more than a few interested parties with cash in hand. But he held true to his word and held it because he said he would. I have heard so many horror stories from my friends buying cars from smaller dealerships. I have to say that this could not have been a better, easier, or more enjoyable experience. I would recommend DND Auto Group to anyone looking for an honest dealer and positive experience. My name is Rebekah and it just so happens that his daughter is also named Rebekah. So rarely do I find strangers with my best interests in mind. It is even more rare to find someone who knows how to spell my name. It was, as they say, kismet. To DND Auto Group - Thank you for a wonderful experience and I'll make sure to stop by and say hello very soon!

Not a Civic or Corolla but still decent

My Lanos is definitely okay. I bought it new and it's been reliable and hasn't been too much trouble but I have had to replace parts I've never had to replace in any other car I've ever owned. (wheel bearing, tie rod end, stablizer bar link, a/c condensor) All this by 60k, I've had other cars go 200k without these parts being changed. Since everyone says these cars need timing belt changed, i had it and water pump done at 60k. This is a problem because apparently it's very hard to do. The mechanic had car for a long time, and it took about four tries until they got it right. Now I'm still not sure it's done right... so I kind of wish I bought a car with a timing chain, not a belt. The thermostat housing is made of plastic so they break and leave you stranded. Very poor design! Now I carry a spare. The Lanos handles okay, is easy to park and I LOVE a hatchback! I picked up our new dishwasher in the Lanos, and I've had my bike back there many times. Personally I think the gas mileage is very dissapointing for such a small car! There's also a very poor range, maybe 200 to 250 miles before i have to fill it again. Our other car (Honda Civic) gets MUCH MUCH better mileage, maybe 10-12 miles more PER GALLON. Plus the Civic gets almost 500 miles out of a tank, but it holds two gallons more than the Lanos. My inlaws borrowed it for a while when their car was broken and they said they were very impressed. So all in all, it's no Honda but it's definitely okay!

I was in the process of buying a car and reached out to this place for an emergency car. I did have the option of buying a car and currently negotiating on an toyota corolla, the negotiation process is tedious and time consuming. I'm hoping to have a car by end of the week.

This car is full of defects, the motor suffers many defects after a period of simple use and that the car loses its stability while traveling at average speeds

Fantastic customer service!

I sent off an email, asking about a specific vehicle that I believed would meet my needs. In speaking with the Internet salesman, I told him what I was looking to do with the vehicle . He was honest and forth coming with some details that made my decision not to purchase that vehicle from him. He could have done what many other salesmen do and make the car sound appealing so I would come in. The drive is about 3.5 hours 1 way for me. I will be buying a car from these guys one day! I truly appreciate their honesty even when it meant they're not selling a car to me that day. Thank you so much!

I was given this car in 2003, when I wasn't sure I wanted to own a car at all, mostly because of the expense. Not at all interested in the "status" aspects of particular car models; was just won over by the possibility of doing road trips without waiting around for friends to be available. Was rear-ended in 2004, and decided not to spend the insurance money on a complete rebuild, opting instead to just have the hatch bent back so it was still functional. 14 years later, my "totaled" car is only now getting its first major maintenance: I've done the usual oil changes, tire replacement, brake pads and such; one cracked hose flange, 8 years ago. Only now, at 65,000 miles, I'm having the belts replaced as a preventative measure, which will cost a bit more than I expected-- about US$600. Still, well worth it: after poking around a bit online to see what these things usually cost, I'm astounded at how lucky I've been to have had my first car be so inexpensive to run, to maintain, and generally so reliable! I've often wondered if people just underestimate Daewoos, because of unfamiliarity and/or snobbery: mine has been a great little car, on the road and "off," and, fingers crossed, I'm hoping I'll have it for a long time to come.
