2010 Charger R/T - Perfect daily driver muscle car
February 26, 2019
I have owned my black 2010 Charger R/T for six months now. I bought it used for $10,000CAD (which is around $7,400 USD at time of purchase). Try to find a modern car that has 370hp for that price. You can't. I could not have gotten a better car for the price. So you'd think that you make some serious sacrifices for that, right? Wrong! I have been blessed with decent fuel economy (25mpg), great ride comfort, and surprisingly solid reliability.
There are some cons however. The interior is really cheap. Especially the door panels - I am 99% sure I share door handles with the PT Cruiser. However if you have leather seats it is still comfortable to sit in! It just looks poor. Second, be careful with the 5spd automatic transmissions. Make sure it isn't already having issues, and change the transmission fluid as soon as you buy it. Mine has had absolutely zero issues, but they are known to have problems if the transmission fluid is less than perfectly clean. Also, it takes a LOT of oil, so your oil changes are going to be expensive.
I bought my Charger thinking that it would be a dumb, expensive decision, and yet I have been utterly surprised at how practical, reliable and affordable it's really been! Everybody in my family loves the roomy, comfortable back seats.
