I got a great deal on a used 2005 Pontiac Sunfire.

I bought a used 2005 Pontiac Sunfire two weeks ago from 507 Motorsports. Before I purchased the car, I had it professionally inspected for any issues (I paid $250 at Brown's Auto Care (nearby), to include a compression engine test - engine tests are expensive -- a regular inspection is about $100). The only issue that was found was a leaky oil seal. 507 Motorsports adjusted the price accordingly. One week later, I discovered that my windshield washer fluid dispenser wasn't working due to a huge crack in the reservoir. 507 Motorsports owner, Jason, tried to fix it for me for free with heavy duty epoxy, but there is still a small crack in it. He said that if I bring him a new water reservoir, then he'll fix it for free. I don't think that the car was sold to me with a broken reservoir (I checked it before leaving the lot, and the windshield washer fluid dispenser worked). After I bought the car, several people (snow tire installers, back-up camera installers, Brown's Auto Care - to fix the leaky oil seal) messed around near that area, and perhaps it was accidentally cracked. At any rate, I bought a car in good mechanical condition (the important stuff is working perfectly) with new tires at 507 Motorsports for a really good price, so I'm happy (I discovered that when I had my snow tires installed that my car came with new all-season tires). My recommendation is that if you are serious about buying a car at 507 Motorsports (or any used car dealership that doesn't offer a warranty/guarantee), it's best to pay $100 or so for a semi-thorough inspection at a nearby auto shop, and if something is broken, the dealership will work with you to fix it before you buy it because they want happy customers. Otherwise, go to a place that sells certified, warrantied pre-owned vehicles (you will be paying much, much more for the car than a measly $100 inspection) and buy your car there.

VERY good van!!

I have had this van for 3 years. It was given to my family with a little over 200,000 miles. It now has 338,000 miles and is still going strong! There have obviously been some repairs over the past few years, but nothing crazy. This van has also been wrecked a few times, but still goes! I generally don’t have many complaints. The only thing is that I’m not a big fan of the look and design of it. I really don’t have anything negative to say though. Awesome and VERY reliable vehicle!

The van is super reliable. I drove with it from Minneapolis to New York and back with no issues. It drives nice and is very stable in the road. No problems in the winter. It works as expected. Low maintenance cost. You put gas and drive

Even After 250K+ Miles, Still Going Strong
by Masterpaul1 from Chicago, IL

This is a follow up review to my first one, back in 2006. Our van has been great. No major problems. Still running on the OEM motor and Trans. I do all the maintenance myself, which surprisingly isn't all that hard. The interior looks great. I've added a wood dash kit, new touch screen DD radio and new head liner. Mechanically she's been great. She burns about a qts. of oil every 2K, which I think are bad valve steam seals. Outside of that, just the normal wear and tear stuff that needs replacing with owning an vehicle of this age. I drive her about 2K per month and she is still fun to drive. We've transported our five kids around town and on road trips. My home improvement supplies. Even have moved furniture. My only issue is the rust. I've been working on replacing the rusted body panels with new metal for the last 3 yrs. now. (My time is limited) I believe she can make it well over 300K easily. The key is to change the fluids as recommended, do the preventive and maintenance on time.

Very practical utility vehicle

excellent vehicle. As it ages, watch water level. Make sure it's always full. If there's a leak, fix it immediately, or you may cause a head gasket failure. I never saw the temperature gauge go to hot.
