on having a vehicle transferred from mid-west carmax to Roseville, the process was easy, but the follow-up was poor. When the vehicle arrived, interior was in poor shape and the sales perosn at roseville we were dealing with gave the same tired excuse of pricing take flaws into account. It did not takee into account the apparent lack of care in checking at the kansas dealership and roseville. The upside to this story is that after some very direct conversation with the sales person, they spoke with the GM and they agreed to refund the transfer fee. The other up on this is by chance, found another suitible vehicle, much nicer, different model (Santa Fe) there. Even though it was a bit more, the condition and features were superior to the borrego we had originally intended to buy. Saving grace for the dealer was that if they hadn't done the transfer refund, I would have walked and made huge deal of it with their corporate office. Although CarMax does a generally good job, I think the economy has had an effect on CarMax and changes in its compensation structure for it s sales reps have taken its toll on fucntion as well. They however remain efficient in purchasing processes. And their repair shop is far more efficient and reasonable then my last experience a few years back. All and all, if you treat this company like any other car sales place, reasonable but ready to grind down on them, they still are still fairly good at their business adn to deal with. i other words never, be afraid to ask questions, take no greif or excuses from anyone and never be afraid to walk, even there.
