Ahead of Its Time

I bought my Ford Contour SVT for about $1,000 and it was a steal. I learned how to drive manual in this vehicle. This car was the best front wheel drive vehicle for the winter with or without decent tires. The exterior looked newer than a 1998 in my opinion and a few friends of mine, for sure ahead of its time. Quick, easy, and fairly cheap maintenance on this vehicle. This was the best first car and I definitely got my moneys worth. The contour was replaced by the Ford Focus which is just as an amazing car! Highly recommend used Contour SVT and the Ford Focus.
The North Hills Auto mall team did a wonderful job by finding my family and i the vehicle we were really looking for and that was in the price range. We had a certain range we wanted to stay in and they got straight to the point when we arrived. They helped my family and i find the perfect fit that accommodated our needs. The sales people are truly professional and really care about your needs in a vehicle. Everybody there was great and if your looking for your next vehicle definitely don't waste your time anywhere else where they wont attend to your needs and waste your own time. We were looking for over a month and everywhere else they pressured us and didn't have anything that even came close to this dealership. Found the best vehicle for the best price. Check these guys out, you wont be disappointed!!!

Just purchased a used Chevy Cruze from HomeTown Chevrolet. This is how a dealership should be run. There are no gimics, just honest people trying to earn your business honestly. Thank you, Jeff and your team for taking care of my wife and I. If you are in need of a new or used care go see Hometown Chevrolet and you won't be disappointed¿.

I have had my 1999 SVT Contour for about 2 years now and purchased it with 71,xxx miles now im at 110,xxx and this thing has been great! Being a car enthusiast i don't mind doing some of the maintenance this car requires IE: UMI cleaning, sunroof gear exc. Even after racking 40k miles on this car ive never had it break down, or give me any trouble mechanically. Now of course ive had to put money into it but its a 15 year old car, so struts wheel bearings, tie rods are always a given and its not the cars fault. MPG usually sits around 22 city and 27 highway, the car is an absolute BLAST to drive! Handles like its on rails and is pretty quick and will put a smile on my face every time i drive it. Overall i love the car and will keep driving it until it becomes a decently high mileage car!

I've owned the prefacelift and post facelift contour and the post wins in every aspect. It ain't perfect but it usually gets you where you need to go. It has the 2.5 L duretec with 170hp, the trans is alittle clunky but that is to be expected of a car of 202,000 miles. I have replaced something's but it's an old car so whatever.
I have been to several dealerships while searching for a new car and this, by far, was my favorite and it's where I will return to purchase my car. They had the selection I had been looking for, the sales team was helpful & knowledgeable, without being pushy and they have proven that they will work with me on my financing criteria. What more can you ask for?

I have read a lot of negative reviews of this car but the bottom line is, it doesn't matter what kind of car you buy, if it's not taken care of, it will break. People keep saying "I had to spend XXX dollars to get this fixed, and XXX to get that fixed, DON'T BUY". Car parts wear out. It's like taxes, you can't avoid it. Sometimes you roll the dice on a car and you lose. I've had my Contour for a while now and besides a bit of rust (which I've repaired myself) I haven't had any major problems with it. If you think there is a magic car out there that you can buy and not spend ANY money on it other than gas, let me know what it is.
4/5 for this car. The interior/exterior style isn't the greatest, but it drives nice and is decent on gas.
My 1998 contour is great it has 2.0 4 cyl. which is good on gas 26 city 32 highway. I've had an 1999 escort wagon and a 1997 mercury tracer neither can compare to the contour which is much nicer! The contour rides and handles better then both the other cars. The tranny shifts smooth and the engine has plenty of power to go. People are right about the back seat is a little tight and one cup holder is to little! Other wise really nice car for the money, so take advantage of low resale value..
The sales associate was extremely knowledgeable about the product. We built our own, price was negotiated and the order submitted. Six weeks later the product was delivered to the dealership. Delivering the vehicle, the associate spent a lot of time with us explaining, demonstrating, and having us do a hands on to become familiar. The vehicle is highly computerized and mastering the technology will take some time. Finally, the associate was not pushy or condescending. Overall it was a very pleasant experience.
Good Commuter Car

I've owned my 1998 LX 4D Sedan Contour since 2010, like it a lot. It gets good mileage, seats are comfortable, ample trunk space, nice body, not a smooth ride like a sedan, but doesn't jostle at every bump in the road either. It has less than 95K miles. Only issues I have are the check engine light is on all the time (I've had it checked many times w/no solution), stalls sometimes while crossing intersections, and the gas gauge doesn't work. However, I did find out it will run out of gas at approximately 315 miles. It's a good car, I like it and hope to drive it until I can't afford to repair it anymore. My current costs since owning it are oil changes, insurance, and fuel. Not bad.
