Nice and Easy

My 3 year lease with Toyota was coming to an end so I was on the hunt for the perfect replacement. I wanted to maintain a similar lease - 3 yr - 12K mile - but find a nicer car and not pay too much more than I was already paying. I wanted a similar style RWD or AWD sports car with a nicer interior, more horsepower, and more torque. I had been test driving all different makes and models in the $25-30K price range for my new lease. The mustang was not in consideration because I thought only an 8 cylinder is the way to go...but I cannot afford one. I happened to be nearby the dealership picking up my girlfriend's 2015 Nissan Murano from its first 5K service and I said "you know what? - I should look at the 6cyl mustang while I am here...just in case". I walked into Ford and saw Paul Scheuing was available. He was happy to help. I could tell that I liked Paul right away. Very nice guy. Very informative. Eager to help. Just as excited about finding a suitable Mustang as I was. I asked to test drive the 6cyl in stick shift. He informed me that the new 4cyl has higher horsepower and more torque than the 6cyl for a sticker price of only about $1000 more. Say no more! More horse and more torque than the 6 - I'd rather the 4 then. Horsepower and Torque were 2 of my most important qualities I was looking for. He offered to let me test drive the 4cyl in manual. Premium package, so it had a much nicer interior than my current Scion FRS. Behold! - my search was over. After a few minutes on a test drive, I could tell this was the way to go....a turbocharged 4cyl Mustang with nice leather interior. Same gas mileage as my current lease, more horse, more torque, nicer interior...similar sticker price. It was everything I was looking for in a new lease. After careful consideration, I was likely going to lease the exact car I test drove, but already, within 24 hours, it was sold to a dealership in Long Island. Bummer. However, it did have 1300 dollars worth of features I did not really need. Over the next few days Paul helped me find the exact car I wanted...and it was even less expensive than the one I test drove. It even had the red leather interior that I really wanted. The original car did not. Paul was amazing during the whole process. He helped me get the monthly numbers closer to where I needed to be. Also, interactions with Jim O'Brien and Chris Messina helped make me feel right at home with Ditschman Ford. Everyone was extremely responsive. Very nice people. Within a few days we had found the car, ordered it, signed the paperwork and drove off the lot in my new dream car (that I could actually afford). The process was nice and easy. I did my best as a consumer to make smart informed decisions and they did a great job of answering all the questions and got me into the right car. Thanks guys.
