I had been looking at getting an SUV for some time, and went out one Sunday afternoon, and looked at some used cars in different lots in Clarksville, IN. Some of the ones with the best prices were found at Carriage Ford. I took down some stock numbers, and looked them up online. The next day, I went back to Carriage to look at them, and met Nick Mattingly. He took the time to listen to what I was looking for, and I gave him the numbers of the specific vehicles I was looking at, and he even pointed out a couple of others. We looked them over, choosing the one in the picture as the one I was the most interested. It is a 2015 Ford Escape SE. We discussed other possibilities, but this was the best deal. I told him that I would like to get the side rails & crossbars for it, as well. We set an appointment to test drive the car on the next Monday, and have my wife there. We went out for the test drive, and enjoyed the experience. We returned to the dealership, and wrote the offer paper, and had them check our credit. We were planning to finance somewhere else, but just in case that loan application failed, we had another loan offer ready. During all of this, Nick, and even some of the other staffers, offered us bottled water, if we were thirsty. The offer was accepted by Nick's manager, and we took the agreed price to our bank. Then, when I figured we would have to put some sort of deposit down to hold the SUV there until the loan was approved, they let me know that it would be OK to drive it off the lot that night. We paid part of our down payment, and I took it home. We did receive the loan, and we made arrangements to give them the rest of the payment, and get the dealership paperwork signed. Nick was with me the whole way, answering my many questions, and even looking into those things he didn't know, and made sure I had my answer. After the photo, Nick also went through the Sync system that was in the SUV, and made sure that I knew how it all worked. Some of it was already familiar to me, because my wife has a similar system in her Mercury Milan, but there were even a few things he taught me that I would never had figured out without his help. Thank you to the whole staff at Carriage Ford, and to Nick Mattingly, in particular, for making this an enjoyable experience. I would definitely recommend this dealership, and Nick, to anyone who asks about looking for a new vehicle!
