If you read no other reviews about these folks READ this one!! I live over 2 hours from Pittsburgh and was Leary to look on line for a car. I had a bad experience before and was really afraid to make the trip. But Jon and Brent explained the car I was looking at in great detail. When I finally made the trip I could not be happier. The car was exactly as they said and they gave me what they said for my trade. We were in and out with my new car in an hour and a half, these people are great. This was the best car buying experience of my life and I'm in my sixties. I will drive to them again to buy another car!!!!
My brakes gave out on my 16-year-old Forester as I was leaving town and heading home--I was in Pittsburgh visiting my mother. I had been toying with the idea of buying a new Subaru, and the repair bill was what tipped me to making the purchase. At first no one would pay attention to me when I went down to the showroom, so I was watching TV and planning my car future when Greg Johnston came into the room to deliver keys to a new buyer and I engaged him in conversation. He was friendly and offered to help me then and there--even though it was near closing. I never felt rushed and he took the time to explain everything to me about the different models of Crosstrek. I came back Saturday morning and drove a new car home. I love it. Greg made the experience stress free. He had a sense of humor (even when I sort of gave him a hard time). Everything about the car was explained to me and I am planning on going back for a refresher course this week. Going from a 16 year old car to a brand new one is like going from a model T to a spaceship--and I'm no spring chicken! All salespeople should be as attentive and easy-going as Greg. I hope he's there in 16 years when I may be in the market for a new car. Until then, I can only refer my friends and family to him.

We brought the car in for a check-over after a - hmmm - 'road-side adventure. Smail crew gave it a thorough examination and a clean bill of health. Then they put on our sno-tires, balanced them, and did an alignment. Typical Smail treatment.
Went for a 39 dollar service included was an oil change, tire rotated, fluids topped off, and brakes checked. They did not rotate my tires at all and how I know they didnt is because my rear brakes are drum and front are disk the rear wheels have no brake dust on them what so ever and my front ones do and plus I had to get a newer tire on the front because it blew and it is still on the front so how do I know if they even change the oil big garages are so shady.
I cannot say enough good things about this place. Russell is a class act. Total professional. Thank you Russell. Joe (Finance) professional. And a straight shooter. This place gave me a great price on a 2016 RAM... loaded. I drove from Michigan due to price. And I won't hesitate to do it again. This place is clean. The staff is friendly. I have never enjoyed buying a car prior to shopping at Star Lake Ford. The price on the Mustang I was looking at was already listed on True Car as a great deal, priced almost $3,000.00 below current market average. Of course, everything was contingent on the price they would offer for my trade in. They offered $1,300 more than I had hoped for! I bought the car, the salesman, Ken, did a great job showing me all the awesome features on my 2016 Ford Mustang. I really believe I got an excellent deal, I would highly recommend this dealership!
