Perfect light truck for commuting and weekend jobs
by FSUGreg from Tallahassee, FL

I bought my Ranger new in 2009 but it has less than 50k miles. I use it to commute occasionally and it is mainly the weekend workhorse for suburban living. It replaced an identical 1998 except that this one is an automatic V6 and it's predecessor had the 4 with a stick. I got rid of the 1998 at 140k miles with having only replaced the timing chain (in addition of course to the usual tires/battery, etc.) My 2009 has not had any problems other than the Takata airbag recall that I had done last week. In working with the dealer on this issue is was not one of their finest moments but my service rep ended up knowing what to do and how to make it right. While I like the new technology in the reborn 2019 Ranger, I am not so sure about the required 4 cylinder engine. Thought about getting a new one since I have had such a good experience with a total of almost 200k miles between the two trucks, but when I do I probably will switch brands in order to stick with a V6. However, at less than 50k miles the only thing I would be getting would be new infotainment technology; the working aspect of the my current truck is fully adequate and no less than a more current model year.
Was very good experience. Emir, Jesse and Mark were all great to work with and made it easy to trust Honda and purchase a vehicle.

I picked up this gem second hand, and it was the best money ive spent so far on a vehicle. Tough as nails, can go anywhere!. Did have an issue with the 4x4 going, but got it fixed and works great again. After 320000 KM, stuff gonna break.
I wish Ford would bring back this type of ranger, not that cross over looking thing they have scheduled!!!
Friendly, customer oriented people, salesman Ryan Billo very helpful, patient, knowledgeable, just very good at what he does! We have purchased vehicles from Len Dudas before and we always come back.
Mike Peterson from business office also very good to work with.
Will shop here again some day.

This truck was used for commuting and was great on gas and easy to handle. Its very useful for carrying and towing things you dont put in your car and if you have any yard work to do.
John Kaminski was extremely helpful from the first time I was in to just even look at options for a truck that I did not expect to get until further down the road but within a a month or two I found I needed a new vehicle sooner than expected. He was great with helping find a truck and opened me up to options I had never even considered before. He was able to set me up with new tires and extra after waiting a week for a sensor to be repaired (the wait was not their fault it was out sourced places issue). He helped make sure my sister who referred me got her referral money and was cool to just talk with about things we had in common and I will be coming to see him for my next vehicle as well. I should note Matt was very helpful in John's absence on one day inparticular.
A great little truck.

This truck was perfect for my needs. I needed something 4x4 and able to pull a small trailer. The truck is in near perfect condition. I was pleasantly surprised that it had a flipbak bed cover on it. It was in really good condition for the age.
My wife and I drove up from the cities. For sure worth it. Everyone went above and beyond. I would definitely buy from Adam again!
Ford Ranger owners will love this truck

I bought this Ranger from a Ford Dealer in Michigan. It was traded in from a repeat customer for a Ford F150. This truck was exactly what I was looking for because it was extremely clean and well maintained. It was not driven much in the snow and has no rust on the truck. I do not drive it much in the Indiana winters because I am retired. I even removed the running boards so they would not be rusted by the weather. I wash this truck by hand frequently and wax it twice a year, spring and fall. I even change the oil every 3000 miles. This truck is still in great condition with only 48k miles.
I had an amazing experience at Mullinax Ford of Kissimmee. How was he able to purchase my car in less than a couple of hours and the vehicle was delivered for free from the other Mullinax Ford in Palm Beach. I couldn't have been any happier and I had a big savings by them not having a dealer fee! I recommend them and Brian Rinehart to anyone!! Amazing sales person!
2011 rugged reliable Ford ranger but very cramped

The 4.0 liter engine is extremely reliable fuel effecient and enough muscle to get the work done. Interior is cheap and the super cab sealing is poor allowing alot of road noise into the cab to the point of cannot hear the stereo.
It was such a pleasure to meet with Kim. It’s so refreshing to work with someone who has such a straight forward personal style. She was in touch with us on our quest to find the perfect vehicle throughout our search. Go talk to Kim!
Reliable, Economical and Simple
March 21, 2018
The Ranger, in the base 4 cylinder manual transmission variation, is a very economical vehicle that gets unmatched mileage for even a small truck. It easily handles small jobs like hauling furniture, trash, lawn equipment and even the occasional yard of mulch. Its admittedly Jurassic mechanical design makes it simple, reliable and easy to work on for those rare occasions that repairs are needed . There is nothing similar produced anymore. If you can find one in good condition, it will last for an extraordinary amount of time.
Was looking for a car when I was coming back from my deployment, I noticed a truck from RT Motors and had to take a look at it for the great price. Scheduled a time, sat down with the owner and he laid out everything for me. He was very upfront and honest about the whole car buying process and I would recommend this car buying experience to everyone, especially if you're looking at buying a truck. I ended up walking away very happy as well as getting a good deal for my trade in. Thank you very much RT Motors

I enjoy driving this truck everyday especially because of the reliability, comfort, utility, and the fun factor. I just can't say enough good about this truck. Such a shame that Ford ended production back in 2011. I wonder if that individual that made that decision is still employed by Ford Motor Co? If it was up to me - I would fired that individual - why? Because all the buyers that wanted a Ford Ranger purchased either a Toyota Tacoma, Nissan Frontier, or a Chevy Colorado.
Had a great experience buying a used car from Steven after my car was totaled. He was very helpful and not pushy at all like some other car salesman I had encountered. He was very transparent and put up with my many questions like a champ!
Biggest truck I ever needed!

Very reliable. No issues mechanically. Seats are a little stiff if you're picky on comfort. Easy to do maintenance. I wish the little trucks stuck around.
Suddenly in the market for a vehicle because son's car was totaled in a hit & run. I have never had a positive experience at a car dealer... until now. Pleasant salesman helpful but not pushy. Got a good deal on a truck and have had no major or minor issues. I would return to and have recommended Premium Auto Brokers.
Great truck, will fit in my garage !!, dependable.

Purchased in 2002 just before I retired. Currently (2019) it has 44K miles.
I had the transmission rebuilt and replaced the fuel pump.
The XLT has a 4.0L engine, extra cab configuration.
Not very good gas mileage and the ride is a little rough.
I expect the truck will be around long after I am gone !!!
Aaron wasn't just another salesperson he genuinely cared and that's why I came back to Scott Honda! Go to Scott Honda for your next car! Everyone was so kind and the dealership was so clean! That's important to me!

This car meets my requirements: 4 x 4 6 cylinder fuel efficient pickup truck that has low miles on the clock. Everything I've been looking for and 4 x 4 Rangers are a rare breed indeed!
I purchased my Chevy Z-71 pickup here 9 months ago and it’s my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned!!! This truck was in great condition and they gave me a tremendous deal on it! Very fair and honest! I just bought my girlfriend here to buy a car and had another great experience!!!!
I will always be a customer here!
Great first truck for my son!

2010 Ranger regular cab, manual trans., 4 cyl.

Good truck. Only problem was bad AC heater blend door actuator which is controlled by the knob you turn to raise or lower cab temperature. If buying make sure this works otherwise it is about a $300 + repair at Ford dealer or shop. AC heater blend door actuator is behind glove box and very difficult to R & R. Took me 3 -4 hours. Part was $20 on ebay and $80 at dealer.
This part commonly fails in some Rangers and you need the heat adjustable when using defroster or windshield will fog up reducing/eliminating visibility.
Me and my fiance and his mother went last week to look at the cars and we found the perfect car for my family they worked out a deal with us and we bought it on the spot. Its still working great and we still absolutely love it. We are going on a family trip to up north to look at the colors of the trees this weekend. Thank you to all of you at S&J motor we love our new Mazda.
