Randy Bray did an amazing job of making my wife and I feel welcome at the dealership! He even offered to pull the Hyundai we were interested in inside the dealership on a cold winter day which made a huge impression on us! Very knowledgeable about the Sonata we looked at & Randy also did a great job of ansewing questions for us on the test-drive! Just want to give some credit where credit is due. We had our ford escape to two local ford dealers to repair a hesitation after shifting and starting lower rpm's. it was to the point of feeling like it might stall and the tachometer was jumping.
The first two dealers each had the car for over two weeks each trying to diagnose the problem. One replaced parts not needed $1500. The other finally diagnosed the entire transmission needing replaced at $5200. When I told them to put it back together and we would pick it up my wife picked it up and drove it 500 feet off the lot and the drive shaft broke. They tried to tell me they didn't touch the drive shaft when in fact the checked the rear differential the other dealership changed.
After calling Ford Motor company and getting no satisfaction we decided to get the drive shaft fixed at Wapak Ford so we could sell it as is or continue to drive it with the problem. The drive shaft had a bracket that was not put back on previously by another dealer and could have easily contributed to breaking.
Since they were fixing the drive shaft I asked them to drive it the next morning and see what they felt the hesitation could be. They called me immediately after driving it and told me it was the torque converter and asked how long we had drove it with this condition. Due to the lack of previous diagnosis we had put quite a few miles on it in this condition so naturally we were worried about transmission damage.
I researched their diagnosis online and it showed others with the same issues so it seemed like a good diagnosis. I had them repair it and nothing else as we didn't want to sink any more money in the car the concern couldn't be repaired.
Low and behold after months of dealing with this issue I picked the car up and it runs like a champ! Thank you to Wapak Ford for saving our beloved Ford Escape. You are now our new service headquarters for our Escape! Anyone else having concerns might want to make the short trip to Wapak!
About a month ago I came looking to trade my old vehicle in for a used car. The salesman I worked with, Josh Arnold, did a great job asking questions about what I was interested in and my budget. He was very friendly, knowledgeable about the cars on the lot, and genuinely interested in making sure I was happy. I ended up purchasing a used Cadillac, which I am very pleased with. I never felt pressured, got a very fair price on my trade, and was able to work out a deal I felt good about. The entire staff was pleasurable to work with. Got a postcard from GMC saying that my truck needed to be brought in for a recall and that the service *re-programming the ECM* would take anywhere from 20 to 40 minutes. I made the appointment and it took nearly 1 1/2 hours to get my truck done and pressing to get back to work. I could see the service men and customer service weren't motivated nor eager to please their customers from the moment I walked in. I was rather disappointed when I got that treatment.
I purposely avoid dealerships due to all the hassles, but my experience at Earnhardt Cadillac Chandler was amazing. I saw a vehicle online and made some tentative contact, not expecting much as I had not bought from a dealer in over 25 years. Everything worked out in the process and I have my new-to-me vehicle which was awesome. The team, Peter, Andy, Luke, had everything ready for me so when I drove in from Tucson, all I had to do was inspect, drive, sign and head home in about 30 minutes. Awesome experience.
New auto purchases can be difficult or easy, my experience was difficult. I was asking for as price match of an offer I received at another dealership nut the wrong color. They fumbled around, stalled, and finally made an offer far from reasonable. After 3 1/2 hours I went to another dealership, got my price, and completed the purchase quickly.
