Used Honda HR-V for sale near Cape St. Claire, MD under $40,000

We had a great experience with our salesperson, Marty Swank, at Carmax, White Marsh. He was very professional, knowledgeable and not high pressure. We went in for just an appraisal of our car. He ended up changing our mind from a new car to buying a car from Carmax. We bought a 2016 Subaru Forester. It had everything I wanted and more affordable. It also had very low mileage. We are very satisfied with our purchase.

I own a 2017 Honda HRV 1.5 Petrol FW CVT (European model). I’m the first owner and I just reached 220k Kilometers. No issues so far except for a start/stop button replacement and a scheduled suspension replacement (200k). All the services and oil changes were made on time according to the manual. I also started doing the oil/fluid changes (engine & cvt transmission) in less kilometers than the proposed schedule once the car reached 180k kilometers. The European edition 1.5 petrol motor responds well but I believe that a bigger motor would be more suitable for the specific model. I’ve traveled a lot on asphalt, gravel and snow (with a good pair of snow tires) and in temperatures varying between 14 to 113 Fehrenheit.

Love the car....I have 2 concerns. First, the driver's seat is not comfortable (this is my wife's car) ....the other seats are fine. This is weird. We have the all wheeled drive version. It loves gasoline !!! My Toyota Corolla gets 38-40 mpg with a smaller but peppier engine. This HR-V Gets between 25-28.....not sure why. HOWEVER. This car drives like a dream... VERY SMOOTH. Love the car !!!

I have owned my HR-V for about a month. Did have to tint my windows was no big deal. I think it had great power has alot on get up and go. Just the right size for me. Still learning what all the buttons do. Overall I am very pleased. First Honda owned.

So slow it’s almost unsafe! Front seats are not comfortable. Blind spot in side mirrors. Everything else is good. Base engine needs 40 more horses. Sport trim should have a turbo engine.

Bought a 4 year old used Mustang. Car was in great shape, looked new, even still had the new car smell. Very reasonably priced. Staff was professional and courteous. I financed through USAA and they let me drive the car home instead of waiting the three days it would take USAA to process the paperwork.

Very happy with my HR-V sport model. Exterior design of the car is very nice Interior is a little small with not much room for storing things. Would not recommend this car to avery large person but for a smaller individual it is perfect, Runs well, has more pick up than I thought it would have. Based on only been driving it for 3 weeks I do recommend it.

Love how car handles. The HRV is wonderful on traveling bc I have arthritis and it was a pleasure to drive on long trips. It’s smooth riding and an attractive car. It is easier to get into than the CRV bc I am short (5’2) so I had to climb up into CRV but not HRV.

White Marsh CarMax treated me excellent. After being married for 34 years,I had never bought a car on my own. My husband had done all the dealings for all our cars. He passed away 11 months ago. It was certainly a big life issue for me. My salesman Zack was very professional and not pushy at all.My daughter has dealt with Carmax for her cars in the past. She convinced me to try them. I can say I was not let down in any way. I traded my car and bought a 2016 Toyota Rav4. Very low mileage and like new.Drives so smooth. Overall, it's great! It's a Honda and it is reliable and holds up well over time! It can be parked anywhere! However, the heater is terrible - takes over 20 minutes to warm up the car inside (my 1996 Civic and 2002 CR-V had fantastic heaters, I don't know what Honda's done to ruin their heaters). It is also bad for road noise, it is difficult to hear passengers because of all the road noise on a highway!

Some early reviewers did not like the power, but it has been fine for me. I am not racing anyone. I like the “magic seat” capability. That has been useful many times. Driven literally across the country — California to Florida — with little fatigue. 60,000 miles and no maintenance issues.

It's a family SUV & grocery getting, you're not driving a race car. It gets the job done while providing good fuel economy. I would have rated Sport Honda a 10 if I could have. I attribute this to Honda’s owner Gibbs Fogarty. He is hands-on and very customer-oriented. He listens to and cares about his customers, treating us as valued and respected Sports Family. On May 16, I bought a 2025 Honda Civic Sport. The entire process was seamless, so unlike the usual, dreaded car buying process. This fear was evident by my old 18-year-old car. My initial welcoming was with Sales Manager Joshua Pesantez. I had talked to him prior to my coming in, in order to advise him of which model I had in mind. When I arrived, he had my desired car waiting for me. After greeting me, he introduced me to Senior Sales Consultant Michael Canter. Mike was awesome! He patiently familiarized me with the numerous functions of my car before, during, and after the test drive. He had extreme knowledge of my car and ensured that I was comfortable handling it. This is a perfect car for me (80 yrs old, 5’1”) it is easy to get in and out, and I sit far enough from the steering wheel so I can drive with my arms in a much more comfortable position than in my 2009 Honda Civic I had before
