good value but MPG not up to standard

for the money It is a good car. However it has never come close to the mpg posted on the window. And mileage was a big reason i purchased the car. I have had no mechanical problems with the car. My wifes car got much better mpg and felt more solid and was quite inside. But we paid 50% more for that. Wife wins. I like my Hyundai

Transmission Troubles Resolved
by Greg from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4 (147 reviews)
I bought a new 2017 Sportage from Bridgewater Kia 18 months ago. About every 200 miles or so while driving the automatic transmission would slip into neutral. The transmission would re-engage by taking my foot off the gas. Needless to say this was frightening and somewhat unnerving, especially when you were pulling into the fast lane on a highway doing 70 mph. They couldn't diagnose the problem even after they hooked me up with a "flight recorder" which monitored my engine conditions when this happened although the data captured by this device did show the engine racing when the transmission slipped into neutral. Kia authorized the installation of a new transmission. Bridgewate Kia let me have use of a courtesy car for the duration of the work. I went and picked up the car and as I was pulling out of the dealer lot I noticed two fractures in the windshield running parallel to one another from the dashboard up that looked like stress fractures that occurred when they put the new transmission in. I immediately drove back and with no questions asked they returned the courtesy car to me while they had a new windshield installed. I picked it up a few days later and within 24 hours the same problem occurred with the trannie popping into neutral. About a week later it happened again and I took it back. Bob, the Service Manager came out and took the car for a ride. Needless to say it didn't happen as it never does in those situations. When he got back to the lot he went and retrieved a Tablet from his office and after searching the Kia dealer website saw that just two days prior a new software update specifically for the transmission was available. He loaded it and I have drive 1600 miles now without a problem I want to thank Bob and Bryant, my Service Advisor for all of their prompt and courteous attention that led to this issue being resolved. They did everything that you could expect from a car dealership and I want to thank them. Hopefully they won't see me again for this issue.

Carvana Review
BEST car buying experience EVER!!!!

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

Very dependable and stylish Elantra!

I bought the 2013 Elantra for my wife who commutes about 30 miles per day. This model has every option available, and it's a fun car to drive. It gets good gas mileage, so she can run around in it everywhere without breaking the bank on gas expenses. The ONLY complaint we've had is the "high performance" (i.e. SKINNY) tires, which are so thin that they find every bump and jerk you around. Other than that, it's a great car (and the tires will soon be replaced with some bigger ones.)

Carvana Review
Taking the Stress and Pain out of Car Shopping
by Captain Nemo from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.2 (732 reviews)
Buying a car is stressful even if you have a lot of experience. Historically, it has been time consuming, emotionally taxing and most of us go into a dealership with far less knowledge than we ought for a purchase of the magnitude of a car. Salespeople have (understandable) pressures to move inventory and even the most fair-minded is looking to get the highest price they can get away with. It is harrowing at best. With my experience with Carvana, all of these stresses were eliminated. I browsed inventory as widely or narrowly as I wanted, for as long as I needed. I could dictate pricing ranges that were suitable for me. The car I received was *exactly* the car I examined online, right down to some inconsequential bumper scuffs. Beyond this, and *absolutely unlike* any other online business, I could speak to a *real human being* within a few minutes of calling (I had six or seven conversations with Carvana agents over the 3 1/2 weeks from car selection to car receipt). They either had the answers at hand, or researched them and replied promptly with a follow up call. Delivery coordination and drop off (and test drive) were *painless no pressure* experiences???all preparatory contract paperwork was prepared in advance leaving only title transfer stuff to take care of. It took 45 minutes, tops. (I transacted entirely in cash, so I cannot speak to the process when there is financing.) Honestly, the biggest delay was on *my* end getting the insurance transferred (having to wait on hold with my insurance company for 15 minutes). The car was 100% was described???absolutely no surprises. The images on the web site for my car were not stock images. What I saw was what I got. Naturally, it was clean, filled up with a full tank, with new tires and the whole nine yards. Even got a ???free??? Carvana reusable coffee cup and key chain. Nice touch. The part that I found the most extraordinary was the 7-day money-back guarantee, which pretty much covers a change of mind unless you get into an accident or drive it a ton (over 400 miles, and even then, they???ll take it back after a modest per-mile-over-400 charge). All in all, I was dreading buying a car (and selling my used one) and Carvana made it pleasurable. I am absolutely recommending them to all of my friends and coworkers and I hope (as a relatively new company) they keep up the excellent work.

Ricardo Calales went above and beyond what I expected in helping me buy a 2007 Corolla within my limited price range. It looks no beautiful and runs so smoothly that it seems like a brand new car except for one small scratched area. Ricardo has a wonderful personality, full of humor, and allowed me to go at my own pace in making my decision. He even kindly went out of his way to get, and FAX to me at the DMV, a second copy of the bill of sale so I could register the car without making a second trip.

Hugo our salesman and manager was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. He spent a lot of time with us trying to find us a SUV that met our specifications. Unfortunately we were $500 apart which was a shame because we were ready to buy the car right there. Surprised they let us walk but would still recommend Hugo.

I have never had such amazing and personal service in any shopping exp until Bergenfield auto mall! From the moment I walked in, I was quickly greeted with a smile from Mary! What a pleasure! Mary worked for three days to secure me the best deal available! She never pushed anything on me, was 100% transparent and genuine! I truly came in a stranger and left as a friend! Each time I called she was readily available... and I could tell she was doing so with a smile on the other end. She found me the best deal, lowest payment, best warranty and even helped me to change dmv info. Always offered me water.... a jacket even when we were outside !!! Mary even helped me clean out my old car and place my belongings in the new one!!!! I can not express the gratitude I have!!! I highly recommend you visit Bergenfield auto mall for your next car or truck! I assure you..... you will not feel like you are any where near the stereotypical car deal but rather friends !!!!! Visit Mary today!!! Tell her Christina sent you!!!!

Love my car!!!

I bought a 2013 Hyundai Elantra Limited edition with 55K miles on it for $8,500. I couldn't be happier. It is in excellent condition and has every bell and whistle you can think of...even the back seats are heated!!! I never thought I could get all that for under $10K. It drives like a sports car (a little rougher of a ride) but still very comfortable with great gas mileage.

Superior salesman/dealership

I've been driving for over 40 years! In the past I've owned a Maserati , a few Jaguars, a few Mercedes,a few Cadillacs,VWs and more! As every one can tell by now I had my share of experience with cars salesmen and their managers and finance department ! Honestly the best experience ever was at World Subaru in Tinton Falls! In comparison with other dealerships, they gave me the best deal, the salesman and the manager, Shane, treated me in such a friendly and respectable way with no pressure of any kind! As for my 2016 Impreza hatchback super loaded 4 wheel drive sport limited, I consider it to be one of the most interesting cars I've ever driven! I would recommend the dealership and this car to anyone! I haven't experience the service department yet , but when I do, I will offer my honest comment to all!

It’s a really nice car.. love the inside and outside the only thing about it is the car shakes a little when sitting at a red light or something but maybe a oil change will fix it
We found additional vehicles that are close to your year range.

Great experience buying a new 2018 Camry LE Hybrid
by EdG from DealerRater.com
December 3, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.7 (676 reviews)
After doing our homework, my wife and I decided to buy a Toyota Camry Hybrid LE. We tried using True Car for the first time. We were given 3 dealerships that would meet the True Car price. Star Toyota of Bayside was the first, and only, dealership we visited. Scott Morang was our salesman. He was very professional and friendly. He did not try to upsell us on any add-ons and was very upfront about vehicle availbility. He not only met, but beat the True Car price by about $300. However, we still wanted to do a test drive of a similar car as my wife is petite and not all cars can be adjusted to suit her. It's a smaller dealership, so there were no Camrys on the lot to test drive at the time we went. So, Scott let my wife drive his personal car, a comparable Camry, to ensure she felt comfortable driving it. We decided that day to purchase the Camry from Star, assuming they could get the model and color we wanted. Over the next 2 weeks, Scott tried to find us a Camry in one of 3 colors that was acceptable to us, but was not successful, so he had to order it. It was due to come in on 15 Septmeber 2018. We received a call nearly a month early that the car was in, and went to the dealership on a Monday evening to pick it up. I have been through stressful closing sesssions where the "closer" pressures you to take pacakges you don't want. I have been also been through closing sessions where additional charges were added (e.g., perparation fees, transport fees, etc.) None of that happened at Star Toyota. Unfortunately, I don't recall the closers name, but he was great. He described and offered us extended warranties for the wheels and tires, and the car as a whole. We turned them down, and that was the end of it -- no high pressure sales tactics to try to get us to change our minds. And the loan rate was excellent; better than the pre-approved loan I got from NEFCU. Danny did a very good job giving my wife a quick walk-through of the car's features, and synched her iPhone to the onboard computer system. I do not like buying cars, but had a very positive experience at Star Toyota of Bayside.

good value but MPG not up to standard

for the money It is a good car. However it has never come close to the mpg posted on the window. And mileage was a big reason i purchased the car. I have had no mechanical problems with the car. My wifes car got much better mpg and felt more solid and was quite inside. But we paid 50% more for that. Wife wins. I like my Hyundai

I went to the car lot just looking around checking out the prices. I was introduced to Nick Donnoli and we started talking about what I was looking for. He was very knowledgeable and made buying my new car a great and easy experience. I would highly recommend him to anyone who is looking to buy a new car.

A great experience

So this was our first time buying a used car. We were a little nervous, no doubt. The dealership was very busy that day but everyone couldn???t have been more pleasant. While we were waiting, Miguel printed out the car fax first thing for us to read. I took that as a good sign as they had nothing to hide! I took the car we wanted for a test ride and wasn???t thrilled with the way the brakes felt, but really liked the condition of the car. They took the car into the garage and put new brake pads on. Even though we were there a while, we had pleasant conversation with Miguel, Mike and others that came in. They even offered to share their 4:00 lunch with us! Overall, it was a very good experience and I would consider buying another used car when my lease is up and I would definitely go back to Fast Track Motors

Great Car, but Gas Mileage could be better.
by AlrightCar from Buffalo, NY

I currently have a 2012 Hyundai Elantra for roughly seven and a half years now. Currently has 135,600 miles on it and never had any major issues with it. But the car was first rated at 29 city and 40 highway then changed to 28 city and 38 highway and 32 average. The last time I calculated the gas mileage for my car, I drove mostly highway and country roads with a light foot and only managed to average 31.4 MPG. Not terrible, but not great either. I almost never put on the air conditioning during the entire week with the car from full to almost empty. A lot of people are complaining about gas mileage with the Elantra as well, and it seems the Elantra of this model year is getting a few MPG lower in the real world than the rated EPA numbers. Even most other compact cars in the 2012 model years such as the Cruze, Focus, Civic and even the outdated Corolla are still averaging around 32 to 34 MPG while many people are only averaging 28 to 30 MPG with the Elantra. People are getting around the same gas mileage with the 2012 Camry 2.5 four cylinder. Even other Hyundai cars in the 2012 model year are getting real world gas mileage matching the EPA rated. Otherwise, for a seven and a half year old car, it still feels very solid, almost no creaks or rattles unless the weather outside is cold, the front seats are comfortable and the rear seats are like a couch, roomy interior, and overall a very reliable and safe commuter car. Not the best real-world MPG, but still fairly decent and I still recommend the 2012 Elantra to someone searching for a reliable used car.

TOP NOTCH Sales Person = G-R-E-A-T buying experience !

THE QUICK SUMMARY is . . . if you???re looking to buy a midsize car in the 25K to 32K price range, you can NOT do better than a Hyundai Sonata Limited. It is a ???full blown??? LUXURY car, with a truly affordable price tag. And, if you live in the NYC (area) you can NOT do better than, Mr. Philip Robinson @ Star Hyundai, Northern Blvd. Bayside, NY AND NOW . . . THE DETAILS: We purchased our third Hyundai Sonata (two for us, one for our daughter), a 2018 Sonata Limited, on Oct.23rd. 2018. Here???s our buying experience. The car (same as our 2015 Sonata was) is ???as close to perfect??? as a car can be. In three years of ownership of that 2015 model, we had ZERO out-of-pocket repair expenses, and only went into the shop for regular vehicle maintenance. Three cars into the Hyundai Sonata brand, I still believe that this particular car, THE Sonata Limited, is truly an ???affordable luxury car???. I say that because, after having done my homework (hours and hours of internet research homework), plus dealer visits, and test drives of (comparably) priced cars in it???s (category) price range ($25 - $32K), dollar-for-dollar, feature-for-feature, the Sonata Limited wins out (over the Toyota Camry, Subaru Legacy, Honda Accord, Nissan Ultima, Ford Fusion and Chevy Malibu. And . . . BTW - I test drove, and test priced (EVERY) one of those cars! EVERY ONE! My (very well researched) conclusion is . . . to get the ???full list??? of features/options that I have in my 2018 Sonata ???Limited??? . . . you would have to buy a $35K to $45K ???full size???, (moderately priced) car, or a $45K to $75K luxury (status) vehicle. Take my word for it, I did the homework for you ! Then too, there is the UNBEATABLE five year/60K mile warranty, that is ONLY offered by Hyundai and Kia. And . . only . . means ONLY! So, if you lease your vehicle for 36 to 42 months, you will pay ZERO dollars in (covered) repairs ??? for the ENTIRE term of your lease! ZERO! Lastly: About our dealer: We went back to Philip Robinson of Star Hyundai, Bayside, NY because he is truly a ???trustworthy??? sales person, and a ???heck-of-a-nice-guy???. For the third time now, he has made the whole (arduous and intimidating) process of new car buying, and lease return . . . seamless and painless! He even took care of ALL the details of registering the new vehicle and transitioning the insurance from our old Sonata to this new one! We came in on a Friday afternoon, and by the following Monday night, our 2018 Sonata Limited was ???ready for pick-up??? ! ZERO hassle, zero BS, zero intimidation tactics, zero broken promises! 100% buyer satisfaction! MJ/ Bayside, NY
