Went to Coughlin Hyundai in Heath on 10/27/18 to test drive a 2019 Sonata and look over a 2018 Sonata Limited 2.0 Turbo that was on showroom floor. Plan was to get a 2019 Limited in the Spring and order what we wanted for color etc. Being a 10 year Sonata owner we were satisfied with Hyundai.
We were met by Chip Price, sales associate and we first off saw the most beautiful gray Limited on the floor and it was getting serious. Chip got us into a Sport Sonata 2019 and loved it on the test drive.
Chip went over the many great features of the 2018 Limited and we were sold on it. We decided to get some numbers. With the great deal we were given on the Limited, we closed the deal.
I went back the next day after all financing was finalized by Jim Brown and signed the paperwork. Wife and I returned a few days later to pick up our awesome car(after Polysteel Coating applied). Chip spent over and hour going over the techy stuff with my wife and I so she could feel comfortable since she will be primary driver.
Chip and Jim were 5 star from the get go. All personnel were friendly and greeted us each time we came.

Then it stops there!!! I wish it had been a better experience after we purchased the car getting all the special futures to work like “blue link” that company is a nightmare and I would never recommend that service !!! There’s not enough bad words in the English language to explain those people and their horrible customer service !!!!!
I was disappointed that no one greeted me upon entering. There was no welcome smile or greeting when finally some one looked up from their phone to let me know someone would take care of me shortly. I had requested to have my in cabin filter changed, but the tech made the decision not to change it without showing it to me first. Since I am chronic asthmatic I need to know my my filter is clean and it had been a year since it was last changed.
We have purchased several vehicles from Phil Long and always have a great experience with my car repairs and this is due to the technicians but also to Jay. He is a caring, knowledgeable and honest person to deal with. My husband passed away last year and I need someone to have integrity and to lead me in the right direction for my car repairs and he never fails to do so.
Pretty good overall experience. I bought a nice used car. The salesman was friendly and went with me on a test drive. My first initial contact was online via email. We set up an appointment at my convenience. When I arrived the salesman had the car pulled out and parked up front and ready for me to examine and test drive. The only thing I would complain about it is that it took quite a long time to get to the finance manager's office to complete the sale because they were having slow internet/computer problems, which caused me to wait a considerable amount of time. They were very apologetic and made every effort to try to get me going as soon as they could. I would return to this dealership in the future.
Initially it took a little longer than I feel it should have to be acknowledged. However, once someone greeted us and we explained why we were there the remainder of our time spent was smooth. Unfortunately, we decided not to purchase the vehicle. But if something else were to pop up in their inventory we would revisit.
I didn't buy from this dealership (it is over 300 miles away from home) but my interactions were very friendly, without pressure and very professional. They also sell Hyundai cars that are hard to find without a markup unlike nearly all Hyundai dealers I found. If you are in SoCal and looking for a Hyundai I would start here.
