Used Hyundai Sonata for sale in Tempe, AZ

I recently purchased a used auto from this dealership. Every person I dealt with was highly professional, courteous, and customer service oriented. Chapman is a family business and you could clearly feel this throughout the experience whether it was dealing with my sales consultant Khaled, Roberto the finance manager, or Libby the extended insurance consultant. Even Aaron in internet sales was highly knowledgeable about my model and spent the time needed with me to make sure I understood the ins and outs of the vehicle I purchased. Finally, Travis who is a sales manager, could not have been a more genuine good guy who took the time to listen to my needs and answer my questions. The design of this car - inside and out - drew me in. Add to this the comfortable front seats and the pleasant dealer experience, and is was a great start. Like many turbo engine cars, the Sonata is difficult to drive smoothly. Upshifts and downshifts are inconsistent and usually NOT intuitive. Step on the gas pedal...lag, lag, then suddenly power is abruptly present. In normal traffic conditions, when you must continually vary speeds, the 1.6L turbo lag is aggravating. When lifting off the throttle and coasting toward a stoplight, (30 down to approx 18 MPH) the sensation of "drag" or engine braking is annoying, as it scrubs off natural momentum. If you are not sensitive to certain mechanical and momentum-related quirks, the car is great.

Tempe Honda. What can I say? I have nothing but good things to say now. As a loyal Honda customer, I am heavily impressed with Tempe Honda, specifically Lou Sofre. To start, my wife's car was totaled a couple months ago and we finally got paid out, and I talked her into a Honda. She wanted a new HRV, so we went searching in the worst possible time with the chip shortage. we went to one dealer (not going to name names) in the morning, who tried to market adjust a base HRV 6 grand and told us they couldn't bring it down. We called Tempe Honda and they could get us in a car that same day with no market adjustments. When we tried to tell the Honda dealer we were currently sitting at, they told us that the deal wasn't real. Well, we got to Tempe Honda, and ended up with a great deal on a brand new 2022 HRV. This buying experience with Lou, was simple, quick, easy and very fair. So much so, that I decided to make the plunge and purchase my first ever car with Lou and Tempe Honda too. Lou went out of his way to make sure that a bad experience I had with the service center in 2018 was addressed and would not happen in the future, and I could not be happier with my brand new 2022 Civic sport hatchback. Very strong trade In values for cars as well, with very hassle free negotiation. Lou also put up with my two weeks of constant texts about the car as I was impatiently waiting for it to come from the factory. Car turned out beautiful. So thank you to Lou Sofre and the Tempe Honda team, 5/5 would buy a car again, would recommend anyone looking to buy a Honda to go through Tempe Honda.

This is on a 2004 Sonota that has 191,000 miles. I bought it new and it has never been back to the dealership for a warranty issue. It has 2.7 v-6 and doesn’t use any oil between oil changes. This by far has been the best car I have ever owned. Good gas mileage, I’m 6’3” and has plenty of leg room. Yes I would buy another.

This car was absolutely the best value for the dollar compared to the Accord Camry Mazda 6 and other Asian competitors this is my second Hyundai and these cars are well built reliable and an incredible value overall also a friend of mine is a mechanic and explains to me that these cars are easy to work on easy to diagnose easy to repair and parts are relatively inexpensive my opinion you cannot go wrong with a Hyundai

Owned our Sonata since October 2017, and it had 38k on it. Now it just clicked over 100k and it's been a great car so far! On a good day, I can get up to 44 MPG and about 25 city. Power is good (2.4 engine), tackles inclines well, and keeps up with traffic. Interior is well thought out and fairly comfortable. We just came back from a 3,300 mile summer road trip and had absolutely no issues! I do all my own maintenance which means it gets meticulously maintained. My #1 complaint is oil consumption. PLEASE CHECK YOUR OIL REGULARLY. If not, you can kiss your engine goodbye! Only issues I've had were two dead batteries but other than routine maintenance, I can believe that this car will achieve 200,000 miles! Take care of your car and it will take care of you!

Ismael Ramirez was great. He helped my son get his first car. He was very knowledgeable about his car. He took the time to go over every detail with us. He made sure everything was good on the car. Everyone in the dealership was nice.

Bought a 2008 Sonata used for my teenage daughter. Paid $5000. It had about 100K miles on it when we got it in about 2016. She is still driving it 6 years later, it has about 150K miles on it, and it has never had a mechanical problem. We've done tires, brakes, oil changes, a radiator flush and not much else to it. Still 100% working order. If it dropped dead tomorrow we would have gotten our money out of it, but who knows - might go another 5 years/50K with no issues. Great car. Great quality. Great reliability.

2013 Sonata SE, Turbo loaded. I’ve enjoyed driving this car for the past 9, almost 10 years, and plan on driving it for many more years. The only minor complaints is the road noise is a little loud, and the back seat is a bit rough to ride in I hear. I think it’s a great car, and the third Sonata we’ve owned. I’ve had no problems with it.

We have the Sport Limited Turbo 2.0 in white. Power is good. But, sometimes it seems like the turbo isn't boosting as you're getting on the throttle. Stock tires are noisy, so we put some quiet Michelins on and it helps a lot. Interior-wise, the Nav panel and controls is really something to be desired. It just plains stinks. I'd love to have the newer radio/Nav display that the KIA's have. Trunk is very spacious and leather seats are comfortable. Overall, it's great for long trips (33 mpg on the interstate driving 77mph) and it's a nice looking car. Not as cool as our son's 2022 KIA K5 GT-line, though!

This place is amazing. Not sure why there are so many bad reviews. THE BEST THING is that they allowed me to test drive it by myself and even take it to a mechanic to have it fully inspected before buying. This was by far the best thing about the dealership, especially because pep boys is right down the road for inspection. MOST DEALERSHIPS don’t allow you to have it inspected but there you go, avoid lemons by having it inspected. Demarea was VERY HELPFUL. We were able to negotiate the out the door price before going there, and really the fees are very minimal compared to most dealerships. Demarea and James Hunter are willing to work with you and your budget. Plus, I believe that their prices are below the average price. DOUBLE WIN. It was a very pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend them to anyone.

This is a great car overall. I first had a Santa Fe, then the Sonata now and our daughter & her husband traded in her little convertible for a Palisade after her second child. Each was affordable, dependable and fun! I was disappointed with the Sonata in regards to the dashboard which now has cracks all over. Yes, Florida is hot but during the last 30 years of living here, we have never had even one crack on the dashboard of any of our cars. And recently we had difficulty shifting from park to reverse or drive, which might be a recall item. But otherwise, the car still looks good and has been very comfortable & dependable.

Excellent gas mileage. Very comfortable. Smooth ride. Despite having it for 7 years, I still can't say enough about this beautiful, durable car! Glad I purchased it when I did (early 2014) because the body style changed shortly afterwards... Yuck! I would not have bought the newer style without the distinctive Hyundai curves. It turned boxy and looked just like a Kia. No style at all. Back to my 2013 Hybrid... the style, comfort, gas efficiency and reliability has made it the best automobile I've ever owned. That includes all the vehicles I've purchased new: 1988 BMW 320e-manual, 1992 Chevy Beretta-manual, 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix (#3 fave), 2005 VW Jetta TDI (great gas mileage but uncomfortable, cramped & ugly compact... my hubby actually purchased this without my input), and a 2007 Dodge Ram 2500 w/Cummins Diesel (I highly recommend if you're shopping for a comfy, yet very powerful truck. It's great in the snow & awesome for pulling our 5th wheel! ) I've always done lots of research on used cars I bought (only minor repairs, minimal body work, any/all maintenance records, low mileage & able to pass inspection at the manufacturer's dealership. Although I enjoyed them all, there's only 1 I liked almost as much as my Sonata: a 2006 Mercedes 230S (but rear-wheel drive couldn't handle even an inch of Colorado snow.) My other used cars: a 1976 BMW 530i (my 1st car & nostalgic even in 1989), a 1992 Honda Accord, 1994 Honda Civic -manual, & a 1995 Jeep Wrangler 4.0L-manual (lots fun but horrible gas mileage.) Anyway, I was actually in the market for a Subaru Legacy, but I'd admired the style (pre-Kia-shaped) of the Sonata (and Elantra)...Low & behold, I happened to see a Hyundai dealership just before I got to Subaru. Whew... So glad I chose to check it out 1st! Kind, honest, matter-of-fact dealer named James who explained everything so well... And didn't try to take advantage of a selling to a likely less experienced WOMAN. Although I hadn't even thought about getting a hybrid, they were having a great close out sale on their 2013s to make more room for incoming 2014s... He explained the similarities & differences between the hybrid & the regular Sonata. No pressure whatsoever. After a test-drive (including more questions and performance lessons/tests & explanations of its many unexpected bells and whistles), I fell in love with it! Took hubby to check it out the next day and he immediately agreed that James was one of the good-guys in auto sales. He also loved the car (even though I was buying it for myself.) *In case you're wondering, I did go ahead & check out the Legacy. Same price, no upgrades like the Sonata, and completely unable to get out of its own way... No take off power at all & I was completely underwhelmed. Plus, Subaru is practically the Official Car of the State of Colorado, so the kid who "helped" me (and couldn't answer even the general, simple questions about the car), acted as though he'd made a sale the minute I walked through the door. ** I'm not bashing Subaru as a car company... I have many friends who love theirs and I wouldn't discount owning one someday. But genuine interest in helping the customer find what they seek added with kindness, honesty and integrity made for an amazing & unexpectedly comfortable experience (and a fabulous car) that I continue to cherish 7 years later. James at Arapahoe Hyundai set a very high bar for all my future car buying!

The process was quite long,.. the sales men was great. the finance took a while due to a computer problem . The salesman was nice to go over everything on the car.

My only complaint is the GPS system is not very user friendly. Most of the input is counter-intuitive when trying to enter a destination. Aside from that, the car runs great, handles well and has excellent overall gas mileage. I wish it came with a shift handle rather than the push-buttons on the transmission, but it eventually has sunk in what to reach for. A shift handle can be used without taking one's eyes off the road, but push-buttons can't.

Our salesperson Josh was helpful & attentive to our questions, and all the other other people we worked with were friendly & helpful as well. Since we were 45 min away, I made sure we both understood what car I was coming to see & what pricing I was expecting. To my surprise, Josh stood by everything we agreed to including the price. Its been a while since I endured the headaches of buying a new car, but tis time it was very smooth, easy & quick. Josh recommended a few add on items & services, but I told him I didn't want them, so he removed them without issue & we got right down to the deal & that was it - it was a very pleasant buying experience. And the finance office was also impressive, I was in & out quickly without any pressure to add stuff to the price.

I've had over 44 cars, trucks and Vans both Foreign and Domestic and this is the Best overall. I recommend this car to anyone presently looking for a Great Used car.

j Just purchased this car in February but have enjoyed it around town and one longer trip with four in the car. It has met my expectations as i drove a Kona Ultimate for the last 3 years. This car has more features and all excellent: the lane corrector has improved; the parking views improves your view around the car and best is the stop and go speed control. Ride and quietness is great and the Bose speakers have garnered accolades from my riders.

This car is comfortable as a driver, passengers say the same. (Rather luxurious) It has lots of technology I’m still learning- most for safety (like lane corrector). It has a solid, smooth ride. I’ve had it only 3 weeks so dependability is unknown but I’ve had Hyundai before and it was.

I met the best salesman ever his name is CJ Chavez. He was very knowledgable about the cars. He took his time to show me cars and he was so pleasant and very nice. And between him and the Manager they gave me a great deal on a Nissan Altima. And I knew my car that I was trading in was not worth much. But they surprised me with the trade and discounts. CJ took his time to get to know what kind of car I needed with gas prices going up. But like I said I never met anyone that just took his time to get to know me as a person and as hot as it gets outside he didn't let that stop him from doing his job. I was referred by my credit union. We were greeted and could have roamed the indoor "barn" at our leisure but elected to ask for directions. There was no pressure. Danny showed us cars based on our preferences, we sat in any car we chose, and finally found the car that fit our wants and needs. Once that decision was made, everything went smoothly and we drove away in our new (used) car. Great experience, especially after more than 20 years since the last time!

My 2013 Hyundai Sonata Limited 2.0T is a great fun car to drive. It is quicker than 99% of the cars on the road, and the engine and transmission are powerful and smooth. I like how it looks, and is still a great car in every way.

I've got a 2023 Sonata N Line, with 1800 miles on it now. It's a great car, for the money. Performance, style, comfort. It needs a memory seat for sure. The front seats mold to you but is very hard to get in and out of unless you move the seat back. Also, the inside needs much more storage space, center console is small, glove box is small, and side pockets are almost useless.
