Finding the Right Car
April 4, 2018
I walked into Naples MotorSports about eight weeks ago not knowing anything about the organization other than they host a "Cars and Coffee" the first Saturday of each month. I had bought a car on impulse a few months earlier from another dealer and soon realized that I had made a bad decision, I went to NMS because they had similar cars to the one I had bought in error and was curious how they felt about that particular brand.
My first impression was the large number of McLarens, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, Maseratis, Lotuses, Aston Martins, etc. and their selection of the Backdraft AC Cobras built to order. I believe that they have in excess of 80 cars in inventory at any one time. They also sell a tremendous number of cars each month, which would indicate that they are fairly priced, and they are motivated to sell their inventory.
Even more impressive was their staff -- their sales people, service personnel, detail staff and their financial people were all very knowledgeable and committed to providing a good experience. After a few visits, it felt like family and that was how they view their customers. First class people.
I have to admit that I struggled with making right decision for me, especially given that I had made a mistake a few months earlier. Their sales people were extremely patient as we talked through what I was looking for -- their wide variety of cars and their questions helped me think it through, but it took me time. It wasn't about selling me the most expensive car of the floor or the latest model or a car that might be a good fit for someone else but not me. After much trial and error, I choose the right car and I am extremely happy with it thanks to Naples MotorSports.
