I tested many different cars and then I visited Koeppel Mazda at Jackson Heights. That was it! The building is brand new and one of the nicest facilities. Everyone is friendly and ready to help. Great service, straightforward negotiations, very friendly and accommodating.
I did the usual research on the 2 or 3 vehicles I was considering for a lease and begain the ???dreaded??? dealer visits on the Black Friday weekend. Each visit , Honda, Toyota, Mazda, Hyundai, was the typical ???what do I need to do to get you in the car today??? with the usual visit by the manager etc etc. Pricing ALWAYS started high and slowly came down as I expressed my requirements. This all changed when I went to Wantagh Mazda. I met Ken the self proclaimed manager of ???smiles & laughs???. He listened to my needs and gave me honest answers and pricing and in two days I was in my new Mazda. Supprisingly for car buying I did smile and had a few laughs as well. Jim was welcoming to me and my family. He listened to our needs and gave us many options. He gave me a good trade in value for my old Mazda 3. We were able to get the grand touring model with the extras we desired. He had our car ready the next day on a Sunday on time. We looked at a few extra services plans for my new Mazda that took advantage of. I drove home with a smile on my face and my family loves our new car. In 2006. David Chiari sold my parents a Mazda 3, which they gifted to me as my first car. 12 years later, I came back to lease another Mazda, this time, the CX-5. I had told David that I was looking at other cars and that leasing was the best option for me and my husband right now. Mazda didn't push me, inundate me with calls like other dealerships did and gave me what I thought was a very fair price for my trade in car. It also helps that he has a picture of Queen Elizabeth II behind his desk, as I am a huge anglophile. Such a great guy who is part of a great team that truly cares about their customers. Owner loyalty was honored for sure.
It was a Sunday afternoon, I decided to stop by Koeppel Mazda just to browse around at the use cars. I did not wish to be pressure by a sales, nor sold on all the bells and whistle on the late models. I had a price in my head and the type of car I was looking for. I sa what I was looking for at the price that was fair and purchase the vehicle. After going to about 10 different new car dealers for a used car, both in long island and the 5 boros, I finally made it to Koeppel Mazda and my family was happier for it. With the other dealers with were hit with hidden fees, we were told the internet prices were wrong and we we were told they had the car we wanted to see only to make the trip and find out the car wasnt there. With Koeppel and the salesman Chris they had the car we wanted and were able to look at any car without pressure. There were also no hidden fees or surprises and we were able to come to an agreement on a price. In the end Chris made the experience a pleasure and when we are in the market for another car we know where to go. Thanks Koeppel and thanks Chris
