German reliability problems? Not Mercedes!
November 27, 2018
I purchased my 2006 CLS500 last year with 187,000 miles on it, and after enjoying the ever-so-soft ride around my town for a year its time for a review. This car has been incredibly reliable for me, I got the car for a steal at only $5,000 all-in, and assumed some horrid problems must be lying under the hood. After a year working with the car, I could not be anymore wrong. I have never had an engine light come on this vehicle. The electrics throughout the car work exactly as they should and the battery does not drain no matter how long the car sits(HINT: NEVER BUY AN 05-10 Audi A8!). My only issue with the car was at one point the automatic trunk release stopped working, which it turned out was just a split wire on the electrical harness running to the trunk and as soon as I reconnected it, no problems since!
Bottom line: This thing is sexy, luxurious, reliable, and has more than enough power to blow the tires off the car next to you at the redlight. What more could you want?
