11.8 liters on 100km on highway. No chances to modify to reduce fuel consumption. My Audi A8 Long is more comfortable, smooth driving, cluster panel easier to understand. More luxury. The GL has no spaces behind front seats. No luxury in the back.

Great place to buy a car I was extremely pleased with the assistance I got from Fahad Dawood at Okaz Motors. I needed a car for my college student and had very specific needs. We had spent all day looking for cars and didn't find any cars that had what we were looking for at the price we wanted. He had just the car we wanted and gave us a decent break on the price so we could afford to buy it. It only came with one key and had a chip in the windshield, and he made us a 2nd key and fixed the chip in the windshield for no extra cost. We have owned our 2015 for two years now - got her used from a family member with about 55k miles. The car is comfortable, fast, huge, and gets great mileage for its size and weight - about 21mpg with a mix of city of highway miles and I'm shocked by that. This is the year they put the 3.0 liter twin turbo V6 in the GL450 - not sure what other years they did, but I highly recommend this engine. V6's are often marketed as having V8 power when they really don't, but this one absolutely has V8 power. It even sounds like a V8. You can certainly feel the car's heft on turns in country roads, but it weighs basically 3 tons fully loaded. It feels very safe and is super quiet inside - build quality is superb. It feels like a fast, luxury tank. I love it and I'm going to drive it as long as I possibly can.

The GL450 is a roomy vehicle with a usable 3rd row that quickly folds away flush into the floor for spacious cargo room. The car is stable on smooth roads and comfortable, potholes, man-hole covers and other obstacles in the road can cause the suspension to jump around a little more than expected...the rear will jump over a few inches one way or another, but overall it drives well. Acceleration isn't what it used to be with the larger twin turbo V-8, but it's still very respectable. The biggest advantage and worth the trade-off is the much improved fuel economy. Front seating is sufficient, not spectacular though...I've take a few 700 plus mile trips and I'm happy with the comfort level, just wish the front seat bases could tilt a little higher in the front. Gauges and instruments and radio are easy to use and fall within reach...the temperature controls could be a little more modern for a 2016 instead of the rotary dial...but they work. NOT a fan of the transmission shifting on the column...it frees up the center console, but it's easy to confuse early on with blinkers, wipers, etc. The seats are heated but at this price, they should also be ventilated/cooled. I haven't had it long enough for reliability, but from what I've read it's decent. Towing capacity is 7500#...I have not tried that yet, but would think that's a little more than an SUV this size should be towing...my intentions will be much smaller adventure trailers and possibly a boat, but no large car haulers even though they may fall within or under 7500#. I'm looking forward to this car as it's my first Mercedes, a departure from our Audi and BMW stable of cars we own and have owned in the past.

I bought a 2014 GL550 based on cargo room, comfort, performance and reliability. This vehicle is quick and has room for seven adults. Easy to get in and out and not too big to park. Powerful twin turbo V8 gets up and goes and has every luxury possible.

The 2015 GL550 turbo is off the rails. Push the sport mode button and some kind of witchcraft happens. It is a fast, comfortable brute that puts many 2023 SUVs to shame. Highway, no problem, B roads, no problem, snow, no problem, heavy rain, no problem. It does it all. Mine was 110K new. I picked mine up used for 40 with 35K on the clock. I use mine like an SUV. We hunt, fish, and put the dogs in the back. It does it all. Do not take your Merc to the dealer. Some folks specialize in Merc and will do your routine maintenance for thousands less. Yes, thousands less. Some of which you can do yourself. I'm on a Mercedes forum. Folks help you with countless features. The Germans know what they are doing.

I visited to look at a 2013 Sonata and ultimately decided to buy a 2022 Palisade for my whole family. I am impressed by the courtesy and service they offer. It is on another level. I am putting 4 grand into my GL450 to replace brakes and power steering. Car has been awesome once you get a good mechanic. Btw its used so I'm not making payments. $400/month maintenance. Not bad. It goes well but they all need airshocks redone.

I am an Auto Dealer in So.Oregon and the Mrs. has had hers since 2008 with 20k miles on it. I regularly do my own maint. on the Beast such as Plugs , Air filters, Cabin Air filters, ect...... There is misconception about Expensive Repairs on them, Just like every relationship you must maintain them otherwise they will cost You dearly. Parts are just as comparable to any import. Our MBZ 450GL has almost 200k only thing I had to do and that is Today replace Water Pump and a couple window switches keep coming off but truly a sound vehicle all & all.

Owned a newer 2014 S-Class, but we could never get two golf bags in the trunk. It was a beautiful and lots of technology but needed more cargo volume. Bought a 2015 GL450 pre-owned from the local Mercedes dealership. The newer GLS is more expensive and feels less solidly built and tons of electronics that can go wrong. Overall, I am happy with the comfort and utility of this SUV. We took it on a couple road trips in its first year. I have distronic plus radar cruise control and didn't know that it also helps automatically stop to avoid a collision. Some crazy driver stopped in the middle of a highway trying to get into a left lane and I would have rear ended them if I didn't have the radar with the active brake assist. The comand navigation screen is smaller than on the newer ones and the night time backup view is too dark. I've had some glitchy performance with the Comand system, but it's a 7 year old SUV, but it's somewhat to be expected. Overall, great SUV to live with for at least the next 5-10 years before everything goes electric.

2011 GL350. The diesel engine is so quiet and powerful and easily gets 25+ mpg on the highway. The seats are very comfortable for trips. Love all the space and the vehicle isn't too big or bulky for city driving or trying to park. We love the keyless go and the upgraded harmon/kardon speaker system. The third row is roomy for adults and our daughter loves the build in DVD system
