Amazing value, incredibly solid vehicle.

I was in the market for an SUV/crossover vehicle, and the Mitsubishi Outlander/Outlander Sport was not even on my list for consideration. One website ranked this lowest on their list of best crossovers out of 16 cars I believe. I honestly don’t know what they were smoking, or if they’re just basically paid promos instead of actual reviews (Mitsubishi has like zero advertising opposed to the big guys... don’t get me started on those awful Chevy commercials). I’ve figured out Mitsubishi just delivers the real deal for, without all the cheesy marketing and for a fraction of the price. I test drove a Ford Edge, Kia Sportage, even a 2017 Ford Escape 1.5 ecoboost. The Ford Edge had 60k miles but bare bones options. It’s the only car I tested that was faster than the Outlander Sport (200+ horsepower in the Edge vs 168). Keep that in mind when you read that this car has poor performance (granted I have the 2.4 with increased HP over the base 2.0, but still, this thing is NOT sluggish or pokey). The Edge was just too massive and too much of a jump on size and sluggish handling going from a sedan. In the end I had it narrowed down to the 2017 Escape vs the 2015 Outlander Sport. I went to a different dealership basically positive that I would pick the Ford. It was almost new and had a turbo charged engine... but I soon realized the Outlander won in every single category. It blew me away. It beats the TURBO CHARGED Escape by a half second from 0-60mph (like I said, NOT slow). The turning radius is incredibly tight for an SUV. It has 4 wheel drive. While driving, everything just feels perfect, from the seats to the steering wheel to the ice old AC. It has amazing handling and response, quick acceleration, it just feels incredibly sporty and solid on the road. The best features of a sports sedan combined with the rugged quality of a truck, sitting higher off the ground and offering 4x4. Now what puts this car in legendary category is the astonishing value. The amount of features and performance I got for the price I paid is jaw dropping. I’ve put over 2,000 miles on this thing, in a little over a month, driven through the city to Washington DC, driven through the hills and back roads of Pennsylvania, driven over gravel, grass, through tons of rain, puddles, over a curb (...oops), this thing is as solid as a rock. I feel safe and secure and comfortable at every turn, and it’s cargo capacity is perfect for me, I’ve got it loaded with fishing gear and tools and there’s room for way more PLUS a 1,500 lb towing capacity if I ever need it. The best value I’ve ever gotten in a vehicle, I can’t say enough good things about it. Beats the competition by a landslide.
