I will never drive a gas car again

When I saw gas prices rising, I decided to make the plunge. Never so happy in my life. This car is a dream - plenty of charging stations and quiet as can be. Don't know why I didn't do it sooner, but it is the future and I will never go back.

Very friendly and knowledgeable folks in the service department. I did not purchase my vehicle there, however will visit them for all service needs. Took the time to listen and technician rode with me to figure out needed service. I was told if the reprogramming of computer did not fix the issue, to bring it back.

Too soon to tell as we've just purchased the car, but at this point the car feels solid and drives well, with good acceleration. Visibility is good. A bit tight in the cockpit with limited storage. Should prove to be excellent around town and on shorter (150 miles) trips or less. Looking forward to driving this car and not having to stop at gas stations!

The increased range over the first gen. Leaf is remarkable. I am getting 150-160 all electric miles on a full charge. I highly recommend it. Looks great too. Super nice, smoothly running, quiet, quick car. Go test drive an all-electric car and you will wonder why you haven't bought one yet.

Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!
by janders5511 from DealerRater.com

My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

Great pick up for electric vehicle
by gnak from MERRIMACK

The performance of the Leaf is better than what I expected (no complaints with acceleration or merging into traffic). The driving range (so far) has been closer to 160 miles (if using ePedal and Eco modes), which has been fine for how I use the car. It does take a bit of getting used to using ePedal but it is worth the effort. The PilotAssist is one of the main reasons I purchased the car. The intelligent cruise control with "lane following" makes driving much easier (especially if you have peripheral neuropathy affecting one's foot like I do). I don't have to keep my foot on the brake when I stop and stop-and-go traffic is much easier. The SL also has the 360 degree camera view which has really come in handy when parking in tight spaces. Two things I don't like is not having an option to purchase a spare and the placement of the Bose subwoofer in the cargo area (which takes up valuable space). Purchasing the SL doesn't give you the option NOT to have Bose speakers put in. Also if you get the Leaf SL, you can't (at the moment, at least) buy the cargo organizer due to the subwoofer placement. An updated version is planned but still not available. The other key motivator was that our electric company (Eversource) provided an additional $3K "credit" in addition to the $7.5K federal tax credit. With a $2K discount and $5K for our 9 year old Honda Fit, we rode out of the dealer for $29K (which after fed tax credit become $21.5K for a fully loaded Leaf SL with all options).

Where to start...I love this car. Before I was driving a honda accord which was a great car, don't get me wrong, but even with its fuel efficiency I was spending $120-$160 a month in gas. I now am not spending anything in gas and with the state and federal incentives, I got the car for a very affordable price. I am paying less than what I was with my honda (all in) and plus my work has chargers! The car handles smoothly and has quick acceleration. The cabin is simple but very nice with Apple car play. The 150 mile range is perfect as this is a commuter car for me. My work is 32 miles round trip to my house so it gets the job done. I also really like the look of the 18 model, its a lot more sleek. Overall great car!

Help, in an unexpected time of need
by EJ Herr from DealerRater.com

We were recently on a road trip from Milwaukee to Viroqua, WI on a very hot day Saturday morning while passing through the South Madison, WI area noticed a considerable volume of what appeared to be water entering the passenger footwell everytime we made a left turn. Just a couple minutes later we fortunately noticed a Rosen Nissan dealership along the freeway so decided to stop. We were pleased to see that the service department had Saturday hours and were greeted by the service writer, Bill, who listened to our problem and engaged a technician, Mike, who then proceeded to diagnose the problem. This was made a little more challenging given that our car is a 1991 Nissan 300ZX which at the time was 27 yrs. old. The source of the problem was determined to be a plugged A/C condensate drain and they had us back on our way in less than 30 min. Can???t thank them both enough for not only quickly fixing the problem, but also their friendly, professional and generous personalities and nature. Not to mention we live in Milwaukee (90mi East) so the opportunity to earn our regular business at their Madison location logistically is unlikely. The dealership is lucky to have and smart to have them both on staff. Rosen, along with Nissan should be proud to have them both representing their brands. Thanks Again Bill & Mike!

Most effortless vehicle purchase I have ever experienced!

I have always driven a GM vehicle and recently was driving past the Rosen Nissan dealership in Madison and was impressed by the pleasant curb appeal so I decided to stop in and check out their vehicles and labor day specials. I was greeted kindly by Ismail and we went over the type of vehicle I was looking for and he quickly got me into a 2016 Pathfinder. It was a Platinum edition and had every extra feature that I told him was important to me plus some. It also drove well and was just the right size. The process from start to finish was very quick and easy as the team that was working with me (Ismail, Jason and Adam) made sure to get me the best interest rate and monthly payment. I have purchased several vehicles in the past and this was by far the easiest and best experience. And this was also my first purchase outside of GM. It has been 2 weeks and I am still loving my Nissan Pathfinder and truly thank Ismail, Jason and Adam for meeting all my needs and finding me the car of my dreams! Way to go to the 3 of you on your constant friendliness, professionalism and for always going the extra mile to meet the needs of your customers! Thank you - Robyn Hunt

2015 vs 2018
by Greg from Pollock PinesPoll, CA

I put 55k miles on my '15 before I turned it in at lease end. We were always fighting the limited range. We bought the '18 on 2/28 and we have over 10k miles on it. From dead to fully charged takes 6 1/2 hours on a 30amp charger. We love the longer range and we hardly think about the range now. We rarely go over the 120 mile realistic range. I'm sure its possible to go 150 miles on a charge but you would have to turn off the heat/A.C., the radio, and anything else electric as well as drive ultraconservative over level ground. We rarely go much over a 100 miles in a day so we're good. We also got the $1000 rebate from El Dorado County.

Chris Quinn 5 STARS x's 2!!!
by Barbara Hansen from DealerRater.com

I went car shopping for a new vehicle. I was greeted by Chris Quinn, who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars there. I must say that this was my best car shopping experience ever. Chris was very informative and he was answering many questions that we thought would catch him off guard. Chris was extremely patient & kind. Nowadays, it's commonly seen that car salesmen just don???t do enough and their only objective is to get money out of your wallet. But, a salesman like Chris delivers an incredible service and gives a very pleasant experience. Chris told us that he has been with Woodbury Nissan, in sales, for 27 years. That is dedication for sure and loyalty to boot. After I left the dealership, I went to my mother's house to show off my brand new 2016 Altima & of course now she wants one! Back to Woodbury Nissan we go :-). Chris was not scheduled to work that day so we were kind of bummed and worried we would not have the same experience we had earlier in the week. To our surprise, after making one simple phone call to Chris, he comes in on his day off just for us. I mean who does that?!? My mother being 73 years young & on an extremely tight budget was worried that there was no way she could get a car that was half decent for her budget. Guess what? Chris did it!! I was shocked, she now has a 2013 Sentra! She calls me everyday telling he how much she loves it. That makes my heart smile and I owe it all to Chris Quinn! I have 4 words for Woodbury Nissan, " Chris Quinn for President! " ha-ha We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead. I don't normally go out of my way to fill out surveys or review cards, but I truly believe that Woodbury Nissan has a huge asset on their showroom floor and I felt the need to give back to Chris through this letter. Chris told us if we ever needed anything, just to give him a call. After 27 years, I know Chris is a man of his word and will be there for us!! Thank you so much, Barbara Hansen & Mom

Better by far than the original Leaf

This SV version of the Leaf gives us all we could ever ask for., almost. More range is exceptional. The e-pedal is easy to use and makes driving very relaxing. The performance is also exceptional. Fast as a rocket. The reliability of EV's is unmatched. No need for oil changes, filter changes, lube jobs. Brake pads last much longer than a ICE car because of the regenerative breaking built into these cars. We couldn't be happer with this car.

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

I really enjoy driving this car. It is perfect for my commute and learning the ropes about charging an all electric hasn't been that difficult. The interior is very comfortable, the color amazing and the style is great looking. Also the visibility is outstanding. Pro pilot assist is responsive, and the regenerative braking is pretty cool. I like being able to top off a charge at home with 110 overnight.

I am a 68-year-old retiree. At this stage of life, the electric Leaf is the right choice for me. I have a fixed income and love the fact I no longer have to stop at sometime scary gas stations. I have an all-solar home. Plugging in my car to an outlet in garage is a piece of cake. I would not recommend this car for long distance driving as I have problems finding public charging stations. I chose to lease this car. Perhaps after three years when the lease is up there will be an upgraded Leaf with extended battery life before having to recharge.

BEST car buying experience EVER!!!!

Love this car

This car is very comfortable and has a lot of extras added in to make it nice such as heated steering wheels and seats. I can go about 150 miles on a single charge and with Nissan's No Charge to Charge program I get free charging for 2 years. The new models are much better looking than their predecessors. It has a ton of get up and go. I drive 100% of the time in ECO mode and have no problems getting up to speed. If you are looking to get off the line faster turn off ECO mode and you will leave most people in the dust. My only complaint is the center console by your legs is a bit wide and bumps my legs and the cup holders in the door aren't quite tall enough for my water bottle. Other than that I love it.

Boulder Toyota & Gary Hillman : absolutely first-rate !
by OldReadhead from DealerRater.com
November 6, 2018
5 5 5 5 5 4.7 (794 reviews)
We came to Boulder Toyota, again, as we have been Toyota owners since Christ was a corporal. We knew, from a little research on the very good website, that the type of car we wanted was in inventory. It was a little unusual, as the model was the result of a cooperative agreement between Subaru and Toyota to build a two-seat sports car. By an accident of scheduling, we had just test-driven the Subaru-badged version, the BRZ [I think that is the designation]. The Subaru version had two glaring disqualifications : the front seats felt as if they were simply a piece of plywood, and the clutch operated like a badly-adjusted VW Beetle clutch [which we once went through getting fixed]. Gary Hillman was our contact, made through the website, and what a stroke of good fortune THAT turned out to be ! We explained that we had a two-seat, manual transmission car in mind, and that one on the lot met that set of specifications. Gary offered a test-drive, and we asked about how far [in distance] we could go. Behind the question was a problem the City of Boulder had forced upon us : to make the sidewalk "ADA-compliant," in case someone in a wheel chair came down the walk, the sidewalk had to be jack-hammered out and re-poured to be flat. Since 2/8/1989, no such person had EVER ben observed. No matter, the City was in charge, we were told. The driveway apron now scraped the front air dam of the 2007 Prius we bought @ Boulder Toyota 10 years ago. We were worried about the ground clearance on the 860 Special Edition we were about to test drive. Gary said "give it a try, but go slowly and be prepared to back out if you hear contact." Amazing offer, when you think about it! WHAT A BLAST TO DRIVE ! We did back out of the driveway without actually entering it, as yes, courtesy of the City of Boulder, we heard the front air dam scrape. Did not matter that we could not get it into the driveway, and therefore into the garage. WE WANTED THIS CAR ! [We already had some solutions in mind, as our next-door neighbor to the West had "invented" one method to keep his small Audi wagon from scraping.] Long story, yes, but illustrative of why the dealership, and in this case, the consultant, are so good to customers. We went back, said "Let's do this," and bought the 860 Special Edition that very afternoon. Had not had such a fine experience since the now-retired Satch Desai helped us buy the 2007 Prius. After-sales service just as good: I could not find the key device for the wheel locks [one on each wheel in place of ordinary lug nuts]. Went back, found Gary Hillman. He came out, looked in the "trunk " and there it was. [I had never even seen one of these, so I did not realize what I had been looking at.] In summary and conclusion: go to Boulder Toyota to get a reliable car [Toyotas are famously reliable] and have an excellent encounter with a well-informed, friendly guy named Gary Hillman. You will NOT regret it !

Car buying experience in Lexus Escondido

I bought a 2018 NX300 SUV from Escondido Lexus dealer on Feb 2, 2018. The Sales Consultant Philip Cabuzzi was the best and did an outstanding job in showing several new 2018 NX300 vehicles on the floor and outside with all the features in the vehicles. Also, he took us (me and my wife) for a test drive both in freeway and city roads so that we got a feel for driving the car. He explained clearly all the features inside the vehicle to understand and be comfortable with them. The Finance Manager Colin Jones also did an excellent job in explaining the Platinum Extended Service benefits and coverage for 8 years 75,000 miles which we also purchased. Overall we are impressed with Escondido Lexus dealer

The 2018 Leaf is meticulously engineered, possibly even to a fault. While the high-tech safety features are impressive, the best thing about it really is just how well it handles and accelerates. The e-Pedal is the ultimate in smoothness and efficiency.

My husband and I had been looking for a reliable car in our hometown city of Sacramento. After weeks of searching and being denied everywhere we decided to contact Coast Nissan. Victor who was the sales person helping us, made the experience very pleasant and easy, giving is various choices and possibilities on our first car buy experience. Knowing our credit was not the best they did not turned us down and found a way to help us get a 0 mile 2015 nissan sentra. We drove over 400 miles but was all well worth it. Thank you Victor and Coast Nissan.

The perfect commuter car
by Tony in San Diego from San Diego
January 18, 2019

While doing my research for an EV, I had a few criteria: 1) The price needs to be under $35K 2) The battery range has to be at least 120 miles. 3) It needs to have Drive Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control (which I used in my friend's Tesla and decided that they would make driving much safer and much less stressful). Leaf met all these criteria. With the $7500 CA rebate and 10K federal rebate, my cost ended up being only about 24K for the car. My commute is 15 miles one way. With the Leaf's battery capacity, I only have to charge once a week at the cost of about $10. But the best parts of the Leaf are its Pro-Pilot and Intelligent Cruise Control (the package cost $2200 at my dealership). I wouldn't get a Leaf without them. They make driving so much easier, safer, and more comfortable. The ride itself is very smooth in my opinion. I drive mostly in Eco mode, and the responsiveness is sufficient in my opinion. It is extremely quiet. When I make calls from my phone through Apple Car Play, people I call can't tell that I was calling from a car. The one-pedal driving is even much better than Tesla (according to my friend who owns a Tesla). While a Tesla won't come to a full stop until you hit the brake, Leaf will eventually stop once you take your foot off the gas pedal. It does take some getting used to, but once you get used to it, you'd never want to drive without it! I only gave 4 stars for the interior design, because it feels that there is no "uniformity" in the design. For example, to park, you push a button, but to activate the Eco mode, you pull a switch. It's a minor gripe, though.

Had an excellent experience with Micah today. Went in for routine maintenance but had a few questions about tire tread wear and major service coming up. Micah said the tires still look safe for now but also helped me figure out which tires to change first if did not want to get all 4 tires replaced at the same time. Also showed me my next major service was not for another 10k miles. He told me how much to expect to pay but also to keep a look out for 15% off service coupons via email. This was really nice because I had first explained to him that I need as much time as possible to prepare for these expenses. I never felt like he was trying to sell me anything I didn't need which I really appreciate too! Definitely will be coming back here. Also, I gave 5 stars for facilities because it's really clean, they have good snacks for free! Wi-fi and current newspapers and magazines to read. They also have shuttle service, did not use it but maybe next time I will.

2018 Leaf with Technology Package
by Mohammad from Brentwood, CA

I bought this car on 6/23/18 with $6K off of MSRP, 0 down and 0% APR. This is my commuter car and now it has little over 2K miles on it. My round trip from work is 120 miles which I do twice a week. I am very pleased with numbers. On a full charge, this car gives 120 miles with A/C on, on slowest speed, with 10% - 15% charge remaining at the end. Since I don’t drive local as much, I am very positive that this car would give more than 150 miles. Also, first 1,200 miles I drove for $7.75. Thanks to Nissan 2 years of free charge. This is pretty good compared to my gas guzzler that would cost me $450. I highly recommend this car. Still waiting on my $4,500 state rebate. :)

I love having an electric car!
by LeafMike from Aurora

This car meets all my needs as a commuter with small distances to cover. I love that having electric I am saving money as gas prices continue to rise and that I am not contributing to climate change. It would be nice if the range (150 miles was longer) but as electric charging stations are installed around the nation, trips become more feasible. Also, tax credits covered almost half the cost of the car!!!
