Enjoying the exhaust-free ride of a Nissan all-electric Leaf. Just wish sometimes that I could travel further without an overnight charge. Got great rebates for purchasing a "green" car!

Helpful and patient with my parents
by Victor C from Sunnyvale, CA

My parents were looking learn more about the Nissan Leaf and get a test drive, and I came along. There were some available to try out, though not in the color my mom preferred. After the test drive, they started wondering if they really wanted an electric car after all. The sales guy, Thondy, suggested the Altima. My mom test drove that and felt it was much more like what she was used to. Thondy was very patient with them (they can be a handful :-) and spent a lot of time answering their questions. Although they did not decide to buy a car that day, the information and test drives were valuable to them, and they need to think more about their requirements.

1 USB, BT, AUX cable, good sound, tight handling, surprising acceleration, generally good all around visibility, headlights could be brighter, pretty good front seat space and leg room, adequate rear seat space (but only for short to moderate range trips), surprising amount of trunk space. Adds about 60-70 miles from a regular home power outlet in about 12 hours. Saves about 7 cents a mile vs 2.50 gallon gas. HD radio works well. Heat and air is effective. Great commuting car.

Leaf is the best value for money and fun car I have ever owned. Gives good 110 miles range, Less cost with electric charging and lower annual registration :) . Has surprisingly very good pickup and is fun to drive. Very good for daily commute and chores around the city. low or no maintenance. So overall lots of savings and more fun.

Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!
by janders5511 from DealerRater.com

5 5 5 5 5 4.1 (544 reviews)
My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. Mechanic said to me, "This car is perfect, like new." Just what I wanted to hear. Thanks Carvana! I am telling everyone I know about you guys. Good to work with you! Janet - 2017 Nissan Pathfinder

There was nothing new to this leaf. I've researched them a lot and test drove one other one. This one was on par with what I've seen/drove. My mine focus was on the drive range depletion while driving. I drove 20 miles but only lost 15 miles in drive range thanks to the braking regeneration.

Brand New Car/Not the best credit

My husband and I had been looking for a reliable car in our hometown city of Sacramento. After weeks of searching and being denied everywhere we decided to contact Coast Nissan. Victor who was the sales person helping us, made the experience very pleasant and easy, giving is various choices and possibilities on our first car buy experience. Knowing our credit was not the best they did not turned us down and found a way to help us get a 0 mile 2015 nissan sentra. We drove over 400 miles but was all well worth it. Thank you Victor and Coast Nissan.

The perfect commuter car
by Tony in San Diego from San Diego
January 18, 2019

While doing my research for an EV, I had a few criteria: 1) The price needs to be under $35K 2) The battery range has to be at least 120 miles. 3) It needs to have Drive Assist and Intelligent Cruise Control (which I used in my friend's Tesla and decided that they would make driving much safer and much less stressful). Leaf met all these criteria. With the $7500 CA rebate and 10K federal rebate, my cost ended up being only about 24K for the car. My commute is 15 miles one way. With the Leaf's battery capacity, I only have to charge once a week at the cost of about $10. But the best parts of the Leaf are its Pro-Pilot and Intelligent Cruise Control (the package cost $2200 at my dealership). I wouldn't get a Leaf without them. They make driving so much easier, safer, and more comfortable. The ride itself is very smooth in my opinion. I drive mostly in Eco mode, and the responsiveness is sufficient in my opinion. It is extremely quiet. When I make calls from my phone through Apple Car Play, people I call can't tell that I was calling from a car. The one-pedal driving is even much better than Tesla (according to my friend who owns a Tesla). While a Tesla won't come to a full stop until you hit the brake, Leaf will eventually stop once you take your foot off the gas pedal. It does take some getting used to, but once you get used to it, you'd never want to drive without it! I only gave 4 stars for the interior design, because it feels that there is no "uniformity" in the design. For example, to park, you push a button, but to activate the Eco mode, you pull a switch. It's a minor gripe, though.

Most Cost Efficient and Comfortable Commuter Car
by Marie's Leaf from RossenNissan from Madison, WI

This car gives me all I need for a commuter car: No Gasoline Bills, No Oil Change Bills, remarkably low maintenance Free Charging when I get to work or into town. The Nissan interior with heated leather seats and heated steering wheel. My leaf has a 75 mile range with an additional 25 miles to find a charger if a contingency issue occurs. The car charges at my home over night on trickle with a 110volt outlet which is plenty to top it off for the next day. I would suggest this car if you have a 40-60 mile commute round trip.

BEST car buying experience EVER!!!!

My husband told me about Carvana from a commercial ad he heard/saw. I laughed about it and said 'yah right, there's gotta be a hitch somewhere'. A few weeks later, he brought up Carvana again....curious, I decided to check it out online. The key words there was 'check it out'. I ended up buying a vehicle a couple hours later. Yeup, it was just like that. No hassle, no hidden costs or agendas. So after reviewing everything on the site, I started looking at minivans....I started falling in love with minivans....I started buying minivans....all through carvana. Once I locked in the one I wanted, I went through the credit process, documentation process, and pick up date (I chose pick up - because at this point, I still felt a little 'leary' about the whole deal'. It was so simple, and so honest, and so real. Over the course of the next 24 hours, all my submitted documents were approved and we just had two days to go to pick up the new mininvan. When we got to the store, it's not like a dealership with a lot, but it had three beautiful, well lit, very clean, showroom like bays that your vehicle is sitting in for your to do a complete inspection of it. It was very classy. Please note, our particular location does not have the car vending machine just yet. After passing our over check, I hopped in the car and drove it 65 miles home. She ran like a charm and I knew I had 7 days to decide if I wanted to keep her not. At day 3, although I loved her, she didn't have all the bells and whistles I truly wanted so that evening, I was back on the Carvana site, shopping for a replacement minivan....it's so easy to do when it gives you results based on your financial settings....I found the new 'her' a few hours later. I ordered her up and made the quick call explaining I was swapping and chose to have the vehicle delivered instead of going there to save time. The whole swap process took 2 days...they pulled up right to my house with my next new minivan. In my eyes, she was perfect, but I found a flaw before she was even off the truck. There was a huge bolt in the back tire. I was so disappointed. But Carvana took care of that so amazingly over the top.....they still brought her off the truck so I can check out the interior, test drive it, etc. We found a few more things that we felt should be fixed...minor things. Carvana took note of the items, and took the vehicle back on the truck but promised me (because I really wanted her that day) they would bring her back with a new tire....they kept their promise, three hours later she was back with a brand new tire, not one, but TWO brand new back tires. And they put an extra Carvana cup in the car for me. They swapped the minivans and off the old one went and there I sat with the new one. Smile ear to ear. I worked with Carvana on 6 items that we believed needed repair before committing to keep the vehicle. Carvana went above and beyond. I got an estimate for the repairs at a local shop, Carvana approved it, and within a few weeks, all repairs were completed through Carvana and I have the perfect vehicle, no hassle, no hidden agendas. And every person I dealt with on the phone or in person were ABSOLUTELY AMAZING, FRIENDLY, HELPFUL, AND JUST THE BEST!! My Carvana experience was the absolute best. I will never go back to buying a car the old 'car dealership' way. And ironically, we had bought our other vehicle from a dealership just 3 months before being introduced to Carvana. I will give one warning about buying a vehicle through Carvana this way....it can be addicting..lol :-) Yes, I still shop Carvana cars every now and then....I don't even need a car, I just love seeing what Carvana has because it was sooo simple :-) Thank you Carvana for a trememdously wonderful experience.

Problems with battery capacity long-term
by Cathie from San Diego
July 21, 2014

We have owned our Leaf since May 2011. We have loved the car but are now getting quite concerned. My husband drives the car, on average, 20-40 miles/day to and from work and running errands, mostly 100% on city roads. We live in San Diego, so no issue with winter weather and we live 7 miles from the ocean so seldom have daytime temperatures above 85. Originally, we would get 65-70 miles per 80-90% charge. Last fall we noticed that there was considerably less remaining charge left after a day of driving. He began to track daily miles, remaining "bars", as well as started charging it 100%. For 9 months we have only been getting 40-45 miles on a full charge with only 1-2 "bars" remaining at the end of the day. Sometimes it will be blinking and "talking" to us to get to a charging place ASAP. We just had it into the dealership. Though on a full charge, the car gauge shows 12 bars, the dealership states that the batteries have lost 2 bars via the computer diagnostics (which we are told is a different reading from the car gauge itself) and, that they say, is average and excepted for the car at this age. Everything else (software, diagnostics, etc.) shows 100%, so the dealership thinks that the car is functioning as it should. They are unable to explain why we can only go 40-45 miles on a charge, but keep saying that the car tests out fine. If the distance one is able to drive on a full charge decreases any further, it will begin to render the car useless. As someone else recommended, in retrospect, the best way to go is to lease the Leaf so that battery life is not an issue.

What a DREAM!
by Kristen from Roswell, Ga
December 3, 2018

I’ll be honest, when I first walked in, the first person I dealt with was not my cup of tea, but once someone noticed my frustrations, their entire team rallied around me and my family to make sure I had a positive experience and we were completely blown away by the professionalism of their team. Just to give you some back story - I was in an accident and needed to replace my vehicle. The rental I had was a brand new Jeep and so my mind was set on just that. I went to EIGHT car lots within about 30 hours. The whole experience was exhausting. I dealt with SO many ammeters - uneducated, impersonal, and otherwise. Finally, I found almost the exact car that I had initially wanted on Car Gurus and so I drove from ITP up to Palmer. My parents followed me up and happened to blow a tire along the way. Being that it was a Sunday I was worried we’d get there too late to finalize anything same day. When I arrived, as I mentioned, there was a bit of runaround with the guy who’d originally took my call, however, James (and really the entire team) very quickly took charge of the situation. They were able to find two of the cars that fit my expectations and got them both up to the front for me to view. I had already spent my weekend test driving, so once I saw the interior packages, I had my pick of the two, took it for a lap and then sat down for negotiating. Out of every lot I went to this weekend, James brought me the BEST price I’d seen all weekend AND it was for a vehicle that had a better package than any of the others I looked at. Also, this dealership is great in the sense that their first offer is a good offer and they don’t waste your time. Once we told them what we had and could walk out comfortably with, we spent about 20 minutes finalizing everything and I walked out with a brand new car that perfectly fit my budget. They were nice enough to throw in a few other signing incentives (but I won’t share those here ) AND James personally filled up my parents tank so that they could head back to Nashville. All of this (including financing + pictures) took about 2.5 hours total. Honestly, you cannot best that!! Again, I am beyond impressed with this team, the service, and the dealership in general. My parents plan on coming back to buy a car from this lot and I will be sending all my friends to them moving forward. HIGHLY recommend these guys!

I've never been more pleased with a car. Not only did I save tons of money - with the federal, state, and local rebates, plus avoiding gas stations for years! - but it handles well because the battery causes its weight to be low, and it accelerates fast because the power's electric and right there all the time! Great interior room, too - moved chairs in it.

Too soon to tell as we've just purchased the car, but at this point the car feels solid and drives well, with good acceleration. Visibility is good. A bit tight in the cockpit with limited storage. Should prove to be excellent around town and on shorter (150 miles) trips or less. Looking forward to driving this car and not having to stop at gas stations!

Chris Quinn 5 STARS x's 2!!!

I went car shopping for a new vehicle. I was greeted by Chris Quinn, who made us feel comfortable at the showroom and he showed us around and guided us through the available cars there. I must say that this was my best car shopping experience ever. Chris was very informative and he was answering many questions that we thought would catch him off guard. Chris was extremely patient & kind. Nowadays, it's commonly seen that car salesmen just don???t do enough and their only objective is to get money out of your wallet. But, a salesman like Chris delivers an incredible service and gives a very pleasant experience. Chris told us that he has been with Woodbury Nissan, in sales, for 27 years. That is dedication for sure and loyalty to boot. After I left the dealership, I went to my mother's house to show off my brand new 2016 Altima & of course now she wants one! Back to Woodbury Nissan we go :-). Chris was not scheduled to work that day so we were kind of bummed and worried we would not have the same experience we had earlier in the week. To our surprise, after making one simple phone call to Chris, he comes in on his day off just for us. I mean who does that?!? My mother being 73 years young & on an extremely tight budget was worried that there was no way she could get a car that was half decent for her budget. Guess what? Chris did it!! I was shocked, she now has a 2013 Sentra! She calls me everyday telling he how much she loves it. That makes my heart smile and I owe it all to Chris Quinn! I have 4 words for Woodbury Nissan, " Chris Quinn for President! " ha-ha We will be coming to your showroom for the years ahead. I don't normally go out of my way to fill out surveys or review cards, but I truly believe that Woodbury Nissan has a huge asset on their showroom floor and I felt the need to give back to Chris through this letter. Chris told us if we ever needed anything, just to give him a call. After 27 years, I know Chris is a man of his word and will be there for us!! Thank you so much, Barbara Hansen & Mom

Better by far than the original Leaf

This SV version of the Leaf gives us all we could ever ask for., almost. More range is exceptional. The e-pedal is easy to use and makes driving very relaxing. The performance is also exceptional. Fast as a rocket. The reliability of EV's is unmatched. No need for oil changes, filter changes, lube jobs. Brake pads last much longer than a ICE car because of the regenerative breaking built into these cars. We couldn't be happer with this car.

Easy easy EASY way to buy a car!

This car has been a great commuter car. It's been reliable and easy to maintain! The electric torque and power makes such a fun driving experience! Charging this car with a full charge only costs about $1, to provide up to about 70-80 miles commute. The A/C is by far the best performing of any car I have owned!

Most excellent amazing car buying

From the time my wife and I were on the WPB Off Lease Only property it was being at a resort or something, or having a tour guide on a cruise ship. Everyone polite, professional, friendly, informative. We love cars and there are monsterously plenty to choose from. 2015 and newer only. It was so much fun! We thought we wanted a 2015 Lexus price wise (plenty of them there) but after test drives - and price checks, wreck checks in the computer (a classy feature where you get to do a detailed search of every car you want to on the lot yourself) we settled on a 2016 C300 Mercedes instead for less than we thought we'd spend on a year older Lexus with twice the miles. The Merc is still under warranty!. Yep, that's as good it gets. Adam our "tour guide" is the best, Andy the sales manager was more helpful than most consieges in 4-star hotels, and the finance person? Darlene and us shared stories and pictures of our dogs. When's the last that happened when you bought a car? There simply is no other place to buy a car. That is what I'm assuring you. A 5 day or 500 mile return and exchane the car thing too, if not completely satisfied. Go to WPB Off Lease Only and find out for youself. There is no way to be disappointed. They won't let that happen.

This car is a good option to buy used to save money on gas. But not a dream car as the design is disappointing in my option. The range as well isn't great. But it's a decent car that I won't mind driving.

I got this car with 3800 miles certified pre own , 5 months ago , now at 15000 miles the cars its saving me money on gas i drive around 80-95 miles a day with no problem , you have to be careful not to be speeding around town but order that that my car will give an average of 90 miles on a charge, i drive around 2000 miles a month so the money i am saving on gas is a lo t, pretty much the car pay it self , the more you drive the more you save, i haven't lost any bars yet , i know that's coming , i will continue to use and abuse my car , until that day comes around.
