Both cars were bought site unseen - first time to ever do that for me! Sight unseen was quite nerve-wracking for me. Both vehicles exceeded my expectations and have been a pure pleasure to own & drive. My sales rep was Nick for both vehicles who was easy and up front to deal with. Bought my 1997 Oldsmobile Aurora new in early 1997. It is always covered and garage kept when not in use. As of the date of this review it has just over 41,000 miles. The exterior has a great aerodynamic design and I think it still has the look that can compete with the designs of todays vehicles. The only thing I wish was available for the exterior is fog or aux. lamps. The interior was very well designed and is very comfortable on long trips. The audio and climate control systems were well thought out and work flawlessly (at least mind does). The seats with their leather skins and heat system make nice on those cold driving days and nights. On one vacation, and staying near the posted speed limit I obtained an average of 28.3 miles per gallon, combined highway/city . Needless to say I was very surprised with the mpg I got on a 4.0L V-8 engine. It also has very good acceleration and smooth performance. The transmission shifts smoothly even under high acceleration. With that said, I could not tell the difference in the "normal" or "performance" modes on the transmission shift column. I do like the where the battery is located, under the rear seat. My first battery lasted 13 years before I had to replace it. This is most likely because it is not near a high heat area such as the engine compartment. The only negative for me is that you need to used the higher priced Premium gasoline. Although it is not a supercar, I and wish it had more HP, I do love my Aurora and would not sell it for any money. As a matter of fact I would like to buy another 1997 if I could find one in as good of condition as mine! (mine is in mint, but not show room condition)

Since I saw this car in 95, I fell in love with the design! I think that it is one of a few cars ever built that have absolutely beautiful front, side, and rear! It is such a revolutionary design that even in 2019 it stands out among modern cars. People are constantly approaching it with curiosity and complements. After 25 years, still drives and looks like new!

I bought a Alero in 2004 the last one made still have it I use it for shows it's in mint condition I have 87.473miles never seen rain all original original paint the only 2 thing I replaced is a battery and front brakes never had any problems love the car

My daughter just sold her 1998 Olds Intrigue GLS just a week ago. And, I bought mine three weeks ago. I bought mine based on the reliable car that my daughter had for seven years. Mine is the GL, not as fancy as my daughter's GLS but still loaded with lots of options. I like the 3.8L engine. My Buick LeSabre had one in it and they are pretty close to bullet proof. My "new" Olds is comfortable and reliable. Handling is great, seats are comfy, the Mode setting for the heater controls is a nice luxury along with the heated exterior mirrors. Like my Buick, this Olds gets about 22-24 in town, and 29-32 freeway. Traction control and front wheel drive are great, especially in the snow. The car hugs the road and feels very solid. Although the Olds line has been discontinued it is still easy to find parts.

i brought this kind of car a year it 12,0000 now 14,0000 i love this when i first got it needed some work but all that bad great on gas for young people in college like myself great sound system i hate the DIC it drives me crazy!! i cant get over how i pull some where and it out does other cars with its looks and power the v6 olds aurora is a great car

Although the car looks senior citizen-y the front end is very stylish for any age. In terms of the interior, I wish I had gone for the leather option because the velour upholstery doesn't give much freedom of motion. The gas mileage is great. I am at 65,000 miles and the transmission is having a minor problem. It is not the cars fault, I ran over something and scraped bottom of car. This caused starter and cooling components to fail. The car is very strong with decent traction control.

I found a fully loaded GLS model and it has neat features for 2001! Steering wheel audio controls, remote keyless entry and very comfortable 6 way power seats on both sides!

The only thing I have had complications with is the cup holders and space it allows. Definitely for long trips it needs a more stable cup holder. Other than that it's a really great car and awesome on fuel considering it's a v8

I've had this Alero almost 2 years, has never left me stranded, had the factory struts replaced and all other routine wear items, a word of caution, it's the 2.2 L 4 cylinder, everytime I've gotten an oil change at different places it shows at least a half Quart high, I had to get the front seal and timing chain cover gaskets replaced, maybe from age or because it had too much oil, if you only put 4 1/2 Quarts with a new filter the oil level will show the correct level for some reason, the book says 5 Quarts but that's too high.

I've had my 2003 Alero for 3 years. It's beautiful, runs so smooth and is clean and comfortable at 220,000 miles. Made in America. I have replaced a battery, a window, a thermostat, a belt, and wipers. I think people who had troubles, beyond what one would expect from a 22 year old car, may not have found good mechanics. If you can find an Alero 6 cylinder in good, clean condition and have a trustworthy mechanic, get one for fun.

My beloved parents bought new. I took it over after they passed away. Great car all around and very little was repaired. Very very dependable car. Cadillac shortstar engine is great. Only replaced crank sensors, window regulators valve cover gaskets (they still leak) you have to change the oil and coolant flushed regularly. This engine runs like brand new since, the day my parents bought it home. Finicky engine. Use OEM parts from dealer for the engine, especially the water pump. I am hanging onto this gem as long as I can.

I got this car with almost 100,000 miles on it. I had an issue with the intake being warped. This issue caused me to replace 2 engines in it within a couple months. Since then it's been a great car and I love every moment I spend in it. I live in the great UP of Michigan where they salt the roads and it is holding up amazingly well for its age. at 158,000 miles she is starting to show some age with a few things like the power antenna and the fuel pump but despite that I want to keep this car forever and see just how long it will last.
