(GT) Good news is great value for the money. Basically a Corolla wagon with modded engine at a discount because the brandname has been disappeared. Bad news is that the GM emission parts are hard to find and expensive. Either non-compatible parts too. And the one-size-fits-all emission controls do NOT give the same power band as the 2003.

This is a Toyota Matrix in a GM body. Came from a rare joint partnership. Family car for for almost 15-years. Almost 200k miles in Minnesota winters and it's never had needs beyond typical maintenance - tires, brakes, etc. Great car. Would recommend to anyone!

This car, when purchased, was the best priced car, with all the safety features one would require, that could also be used to carry significant cargo. At the time, a comparable Matrix model would have cost $6,000 more than what I paid. Since, it has currently driven only 160,000 kms at this time, I should have many years of dependable service ahead of me. The bones, spine and muscles of this car is a Toyota Corolla, which is why it's the most dependable. The engine is not a power horse, but the 1.8 liter is the extremely dependable Toyota engine that is rated to outpace most engines in its class. This is a very dependable, affordable car that has never failed to impress me since day one!

I've driven a large range of vehicles, from the cheapest commuter you can buy new, to fully loaded Town Cars and Chrysler 300's and everything in between. To get straight to it: It gets the job done, and won't break while doing it. It gets decent mileage, it's a Toyota so you know it's going to outlive you, and there's lots of space so how can you go wrong? To be 100% clear, it's not very comfortable and there's no sound insulation at all, and it makes no power which means getting anywhere at a brisk pace means your foot is occasionally to the floor during regular driving. I don't see these as issues, this is part of the fun, overall I have a lot of fun in it and I don't worry about it's reliability at all. I also recommend sampling the symphony that is allowing your muffler to rust off, and giving it some redline as a treat. She's a racecar.

So I am buying my relatives Pontiac Vibe. I need something reliable to drive from Longview TX to Fort Worth TX many times. I have to park my 2002 Honda Accord from now on. The Poniac Vibe has plenty of get up and go. I drove it to Fort Worth a week ago and I'm happy with its performance. It does use more fuel than my Honda Accord though. The Pontiacs engine bay is real clean. The Pontiac handled the rough I 20 very well. I have the check written out and ready to purchase my first Pontiac. Good by to my Honda. I have heard mechanics call the auto. Trans. On the 2002 Honda Accord GLASS . Because they break so easily. My sister said they have driven the Vibe to Arkansas many times and it still performs well. The AC and the heater works well in the Vibe also. The cruise control works very well too. I'm hoping to find an owners manual on e-bay. I have no idea what year model the Vibe is yet. But I do know it has 16 valves. Somebody has put tinting on the back window over the rear defroster, so I'm not bothering it. The paint job has seen its better days. I'm planning on repainting the Vibe, but I will continue with the Maroon color. This isn't a Firebird, but it will do.

I bought my 2008 Vibe new in 2008 for $12,500 with a used trade down-payment. Now 154,000 miles later it still runs, looks, and rides like almost new. I bought a 2021 Jeep Wrangler that spends a lot of time sitting in the garage as the Vibe still gets most of my driving into the city workouts. Well worth the $45/mo addl. insurance policy. Not one single engine issue - ever. 32 mpg reliable - just can't be replaced.

Great little car. Reliable and fun to drive. Lots of pep and great gas mileage. Bought it new in 2008. Best car I ever owned. Have over 100,000 miles on it. Doubt I'll ever find another car like this one. 14 years old now and people still think it's new.
