My old car was my third minivan in 15 years. Now that my kids are older and leaving for college, I wanted something that could carry 6 or 7 passengers but was ... well... NOT a minivan. I did some research on late model used three-row SUVs, and found the 2017 Nissan Pathfinder. (My favorite of my three vans was a 2005 Nissan Quest, so choosing Nissan was easy for me.) Before I started browsing for cars, I applied for credit through Carvana, and was approved. Next, I entered in all of the information about the van I was trading for the Pathfinder. (Beware -- the trade-in amount is only good for 7 days, and it can change wildly in that time!) I was pleased with the trade amount, and it was great that I could shop for my new car and see my down payment and monthly payment for every car I viewed! My specifications were pretty clear -- AWD, less than 10,000 miles, and never a rental car. I found my dream car a few days later, and started the purchase process. It was quite smooth and the directions were very clear about what documents need to be uploaded. When I went to click on "finalize purchase" (or something like that), a red flag popped up...my trade-in value expired WHILE I WAS IN THE PROCESS OF CHECKING OUT! I got on chat with Carvana staff right away, and they were able to return the trade in value to NEARLY what it was before the expiration. This is something that needs to be addressed by Carvana -- once a customer is to a certain point in the process, those numbers need to be frozen. So we set a delivery time, and the Carvana rep was pretty much on time considering he was traveling 70 miles or so from the Chicago office. Everything was smooth -- signed a couple more papers, took my Pathfinder for a spin, Eric inspected my trade, and I left within 30 minutes with my new car. I would also like to add that I drove directly to my mechanic, so he could inspect the car and make sure I wasn't buying something with hidden damage. This is a great vehicle and we're so glad that we purchased one. We've had a couple of minor things go wrong that should not have such as the drivers side visor starting to squeak loudly. All said we are very happy with this car. On the down side there is now standard technology out there that is not available. Automatic wipers are missing and items like remote start and subaru's safety and security package are extra when Honda includes them both free. But my biggest issue is not the car it's that there is no convenient dealersl or service anywhere near me. The nearest service is 45 minutes away. The next car will have to be available locally.

I just walked my mom through purchasing her very first new car at Casey Subaru. I was not looking forward to the experience, having purchased many vehicles over the last 30 years and never enjoying the process. Playing mind games with car salesmen is good sport when you are twenty or maybe even thirty something, but it is just a pain in the rear when you get older. Wasting large swaths of time waiting for the salesman to pretend he is working on a deal for you? No thanks! Thank goodness we were assigned Clayton Moats as our salesman at Casey Subaru. We started out on the AARP auto buying program site, typed in what we were looking for and what options we wanted, and then we submitted a request for dealers to contact us with their quotes. We very quickly received an email from Casey Subaru thanking us for considering them and assigning Clayton to us as our contact person. Clayton contacted me by email and then by phone to make an appointment for us to go to the dealership to meet with him for the purchase. I explained to Clayton that my mom is memory challenged when under stress, is a complete technophobe, gets intimidated by new things easily, and might even decide she wanted a different vehicle once she saw all the new things that she would have to get used to in the new car. Clayton assured me that he was very comfortable dealing with people with my mom's challenges, and that he had all the time we needed to explain everything to her and test drive other vehicles, if necessary. Since Clayton had her selected vehicle and the required paperwork prepped and waiting for her when we arrived, we might have been able to complete the process and transaction in about an hour. However, my mom needed several test drives of the selected car, several test drives of a different car, two separate indoctrination sessions to part of the tech used in her finally decided upon Subaru Legacy, and a wait for insurance documentation that had not been completed as promised by our insurance agent (grrr State Farm). Clayton never seemed to mind. His attitude was awesome, he was always smiling and upbeat, and he went out of his way to explain things clearly and as many times as needed to my mom. His manners were impeccable, something that you rarely find in someone of any age these days. I know car sales is a business and that these gentlemen and ladies are well trained in their jobs of selling, but all the training in the world will not provide a salesperson with the kinds of people skills that only come naturally and prevent interactions from seeming forced and fake. I hate rah, rah sales people who talk too loudly, address you as ???my dear??? when you are well past 40 years of age, and who try to avoid answering questions directly as if I am so stupid I can be mentally steered wherever they want me to go. With Clayton Moats, that dreaded type of experience will never occur. He is polite, knowledgeable, low-key but cheerful and sincere in his desire to help. It would be wise for Casey Subaru to do whatever is necessary to keep him around as their employee and not the competition???s. I would definitely buy a vehicle from him again. A shout-out must also go to Paul Clark at the dealership for being the one to provide an excellent price and assigning Clayton to us as our salesman.

I've owned cars since the 70's. I've toured VW, Honda, Chevy, Nissan, Ford, Carmax and Toyota Dealerships, been to car shows, used car lots, junk yards - have kept a Chevy S-10 alive for 22 years - rented cars for the last 9 years of its life and in 2013 hunted for a used car. In short, I've been around and know what I like. I've had good and bad experiences. My visit to Checker Flag Toyota dealership was by far the best experience to date. Carmax was the lowest key, low stress, but not as friendly. Jaclyn has been my next door neighbor since last year. This was my first professional interaction with her and she was super. Easy to make an appointment, flexible when I arrived late, I was asked by almost all the staff that saw me waiting if I needed assistance. I got a full tour of all the options - new and certified pre-owned - sales and lease options. We drove a certified pre-owned Highlander XLE, 2015 model with lots of extras, some regrettably unique to that model year. I learned all about what made that SUV special, what makes Toyota great, what makes Checkerflag Toyota best of all. I gained a new respect for my neighbor too. The only things that kept me from buying the car right then were my personal circumstances and the ridiculously low value of my Chevy Colorado - I've lot $10k in 4 years after I bought it used. (lesson here - buy a Toyota if you want a car to hold value - painful lesson learned). I know my next car with be a Toyota and my only dealership will be Checker Flag in Norfolk. Have owned 2 Volvos and the company lost it's spark. Subaru has that spot in my heart now. From the 5 star crash rating (except front passenger seat is 4 star) to great reliability records and good tech stuff I am thrilled.

The sale people were very knowledgeable , and was a pleasure to do business with. She had the service department clean the car prior to delivery and they did not half clean anything. The windows, interior seats, and carpet was not cleaned as good as previous car dealers had done. Overall Sale personnel are fine, Service personnel are not as good.

I love my Subaru. I am so happy I bought it. I do have a couple of suggestions about something that is a problem. Changing the clock is a real challenge. I get my son, a computer network engineer, to do it for me and he even says he wonders why they made it so difficult. My neighbor said she looks up a video on YouTube to change hers. I need to check that out cause my needs changing right now and will not see my son for another month. Another thing is the odometer could be better to view at a glance. I don't want to figure out where 55 is when I am driving. I still have not figured out how to get my cell phone to work through the car.

Excellent vision in all directions from the Forester. We like the no non-sense styling of the Touring 2.5i. Easy to get into and out of which matters if getting a few years on you. Very good gas mileage and handling with excellent performance. The AWD is certainly one of many key selling points. Fit and finish is excellent with very good reliability so far. We think it is a excellent SUV and would definitely purchase another Subaru SUV if needed.

Went to this Kia to get three recalls done on my van. Most of the people were pretty kind for the most part. The first day I went to get the recalls done, my appointment was at 9:30am and they said my vehicle would be ready by 2:30-3. Prior to them taking my vehicle, I asked since the control arms would be replaced, would I also be receiving an alignment, since at that point my alignment on my vehicle was fine. My service advisor Katie, stated yes. I never received a phone call so I called them. They said it would be a little bit longer because "he's banging with a mallet because he's having trouble taking off the part." Again I called a few hours later after not hearing anything, they stated my vehicle wasn't ready and would need to stay overnight and would be ready by 10:30am. I said okay that's fine. Next day, I again, never received a phone call and called myself around 10 and the work still was not completed. Katie stated if it wasn't done by today they would look into getting me a loaner car. Around 1, I called again and my vehicle was done. I went to pick up my vehicle. They did not tell me I would need a second appointment to install the door latches. They also never aligned it. So, I called again to schedule another appointment due to it not being aligned, and asked if I also needed to make an appointment for the door latches since no one had mentioned anything about it. They had simply said I was "good to go." Went to my next appointment two days later, dropped off the car at 12:30 they stated it would be ready in an hour and call me. I got there at 2:30 after never receiving a call, and the service technician didn't know I was behind him. When asked if he finished on the van, he stated "I haven't started on that xxxx yet." So again, I am asked to wait until 3:30 and they will call me when it's done. I again, never received a phone call and just showed up close to 4:30. The work on the door latches was completed however the main reason for the appointment (for the alignment) was not completed, but they stated my vehicle was "done and ready to go." After I left I then called to speak with a manager, my first call was ignored and they let the phone ring for almost two minutes. I called back and requested not to be transferred but to be put on directly with a supervisor or manager. The manager, Joe, stated that they are not required to do alignments on the recalls they did. When I explained it's a control arm and suspension work requires an alignment. He stated yes but the recall doesn't include an alignment and then stated he would actually like to drive the vehicle himself at a third appointment. Had I not been told after I asked on the very first day I would be getting an alignment I would have been fine, however they told me not once but FOUR times that they would be giving my vehicle an alignment and it was never done. I'm taking it back today to see if they will give the van an alignment but after all of the xxxx we've gone through I'd rather go somewhere else. Also, according to Kia customer service and the manager, the recall states they are not required to do alignments after replacing the control arms (major suspension work), this would be at the discretion of the dealer. Edit: After the service manager Joe learned about my experience he did his best to correct the situation even though I was just given incorrect information by a member of the staff. I was given an alignment and due to having to make so many appointments and the experiences he also mounted and balanced our new tires for free. During our time there, they kept us informed and made sure we were comfortable, not one but about six people asked us if we were okay or needed anything while we were there. Joe also test drove it before and after and test drove it with my husband as well. Overall, I will likely return to this dealership for any future needs.

This Forester has stuck with me through thick and thin, has been reliable and extremely useful transportation both for commuting and for vacation trips. It’s been well maintained on a regular basis and has a new oil change and a new battery. My mechanic says it’s in good shape and he’s sure it will pass inspection as-is. The car is extremely clean and has had a thorough professional detailing. Snow tires with wheels included. Roof rack for kayaks can also be included. Foresters regularly last many more miles. Subaru's description of its specifications: This XS model includes automatic climate control, heated seats, a 6-CD player, leather-wrapped steering wheel, and 16” aluminum wheels, as well as the standard foglights, hill hold feature, folding mirrors, roof rack, intermittent front and rear wipers, cruise control, and keyless entry. Safety: The AWD Forester is praised for its performance in bad weather and road conditions. It earns 5 stars from the NHTSA in front and side crash tests, owing to dual front and side-impact air bags, ABS brakes, 16-inch tires, and active head restraints.

I have been researching for a used car in the past year or so in the Hampton Roads area (even considered NC) and have ALWAYS circled back to John Gabriel at Lynnhaven Motor Company. From larger "commercial" car dealers to smaller ones on Va Beach Blvd (and there are a LOT), this dealership is the best - you do not need to look further. I had terrible experiences with other car dealers in VB, so once I stepped into John's office, I knew that I was in the right place. John and his staff are honest, straight-forward, and extremely helpful. This is unlike any other car dealership I've visited. John only has QUALITY vehicles that are clean, fully inspected, and in pristine shape. He doesn't buy low-quality cars that are prone to issues. I've come across several people in the area who have spoken so highly of John. And after researching for so long, I knew I wanted to buy my vehicle from John and I was willing to wait for the exact make/model to come on lot JUST so I could purchase from him (even though similar cars with low miles were up for sale along the boulevard). I only trusted John. Buying a used car is a stressful process and many of the dealers in this area are subpar to say the least, but not at Lynnhaven Motor Company. I would argue that they are the MOST honest and respectable dealership in Virginia Beach. From my online research to random in-person encounters, the one word that comes up repeatedly about John is the word, "honest." And that is rare to come across with used car dealerships. They deserve a "Best on the Beach" title because this dealership already has that reputation around town. I had a wonderful buying experience and plan to purchase all future vehicles here. I highly HIGHLY recommend it to ANYONE!!

I like the comfort and the visibility of this car. All who have ridden in it feel that it’s comfortable too. Love the eyesight package which gives warnings regarding blind spots and so forth. Find it very easy to parallel park. My only complaint is that the audio controls aren’t intuitive to use, at least for me.
