Two years ago, when we were ready to move to Conn from Ohio, we asked our Subaru customer rep in Columbus to recommend a Subaru dealership that we could depend on. He gave us Garavel's specific contact info and that was very helpful when we needed some minor adjustments to one of our leased cars after we moved to Conn. More recently, in October 2018, we had a real catastrophe when both of our Ohio Subaru Foresters were totaled in a flash flood so we got in a rental car and went back to Garavel. We met Gary Bauman who understood our dilemma. We knew that we wanted two Foresters and Gary knew everything about the great new features and he explained and demonstrated them to us. When we said goodbye to Gary the first time, Joe drove home in a 2019 Forester that was available in the lot - it had his name on it. Jeanne was happy to wait a little longer for her beautiful red 2019 Forester that is the envy of everyone, and when we said goodbye to Gary the second time, we were completely satisfied. Since then, we have recommended Gary and Garavel to others whose cars were destroyed in that flood. We are certainly satisfied customers. Thank you, Gary and Garavel! Staff was warm and welcoming, finance was thorough- I drove off feeling my needs had been met and my expectations exceeded. Love the car! Highly recommend!
Robert, my salesman, was pleasant and knowledgeable. He also went the extra mile (no pun intended) to makes sure I could take a good test drive of the car I ended up buying. They registered the car for me in New York, where I live, and Robert even put the plates on for me. They were attentive to my e-mailed questions, and follow up was good. I only gave 4 stars for “Facilities” because it’s a small showroom. I would highly recommend them as a place to buy a new Subaru.
I recently purchased a vehicle at Dan Perkins, and I can't say enough great things about my experience. I greatly dislike going to dealerships. If only I had known better-I would have come here first! Not only, was Adam Arsenault super helpful in explaining all my options, he showed me all the AWESOME details about the car, and he never pressured me to buy or try to sell me some gimmick. I am new to the Subaru family, and definitely see myself coming back. From start to finish, I was always greeted by friendly people and they all made the process easy and comfortable. Shout out to the very helpful and super nice lady in financing dept. who gave me even more peace of mind selecting coverage options!
I travel 10 miles to go here for service because the dealership is small and has a friendly atmosphere. It is easy to get too and even in high rush hour traffic times there's no problems getting into the driveway and finding parking. Unlike the larger dealerships across the Island, Metric is an independent (just Subaru) and is truly hassle free. It has less customer volume which enables them to focus individually on getting things done. Service is typically done faster than the original estimates. When they say an hour it usually means 35 minutes. Its the dealers job to make money on services. I get it. However it is cost competitive with other dealerships in the area. I'm still waiting on their new facilities proposal to be built as the building is old and needs updating. The service waiting room is small and you will need to walk about to stretch your legs as it's too tight for tall folks to extend knees locked. The waiting room chairs need to be updated for longer sit ins, they serve their purpose for 30 minutes tops. What really is nice, is your free to walk the facility and grounds while waiting with out an employee asking if you need help every 5 minutes.
Excellent Maintenance, Prices and Customer Service

We leased a vehicle from North Coast Subaru. Their sales representative was great. Even before we went there I heard from a friend that their service department was the best dealer service centers he's used. This was our first scheduled maintenance and the staff was professional and courteous. They were thorough with their assessment and explanation of what was going to be done for this scheduled service visit and afterwards walk me through what was done and covered. We had a tire issue and they looked into it. The came back with an assessment and explained why and the cost of a replacement tire along with mounting and balancing. The actual cost quoted to me prior to going in was less than the price of an exact same time online and including the mounting and balancing came out to the cost of just the tire online or what was quoted to me at a local tire shop.

I had an amazing experience at Koeppel Subaru when I was buying my CPO Forester. The staff was extremely nice, especially Jordan at the CPO office and Jose (both managers) and Angel. They are very courteous and professional. They happily answer any questions you have. The whole process was very transparent. When I first saw the car, Jordan gave me on paper what the "out-of-the-door" cost is. I did not pay even a dollar more than that amount. The price was already reasonable, so I didn't negotiate much. In fact, they promptly returned my holding deposit and the little amount of over-payment my bank made. They did not try to upsell their financing options when I told I have a pre-approval from my bank. Jose mentioned to me about the Extended Warranty Coverage, but did not upsell it when I said I couldn't afford to buy it at that time. A few issues came up when they were trying to do my registration due my temporary visitor status, but they were very patient and explained to me exactly what I needed to do. Overall, I think Koeppel Subaru is an excellent dealership as far as the purchasing experience goes. I won't be living in this area for too long to see if their maintenance service is equally good, but I'm guessing it will be as good as this experience. Bottom line - If you are looking for a Subaru around NYC, this is the place you must go!
The car was exactly what it was advertised. All people in the shop are very nice, very friendly, and explained clearly everything I need to know about. I am very pleased to have purchased a car in the same day, and will very likely go there to buy next car.
Friendly, respectful, thorough. I am very happy with my purchase. Robert was very responsive to what I was looking for and did not try to push me into anything I wasn't interested in.
